Radar I can cope with just need to pay attention, it's the CVs that are the real problem.

I think we have all seen plenty of this kind of behaviour during our time playing this game but I cannot say I have seen a specific increase in toxic behaviour. Just a general decline in overall team quality which isn't surprising, with a lot of bored people who are probably either returning players or those we would usually call "weekend warriors".

Thank you worked for me

submarines SUBMARINES - discussion, feedback, opinions
lovelacebeer replied to WG_Lumberjack's topic in General Discussion
I have been experimenting with playing battleships and by far the best strategy is to camp pretty far back focus on the cruisers and DDs, by then your subs have killed the enemy BBs and its just about going around capping/ running until you win. PEF is naturally best for the running but I'm finding Warspite and Fuso are the best for BB playing, it wins matches but is extraordinarily dull play. -
Playing DDs in the current Meta
lovelacebeer replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
I decided to test this myself tonight so took out my Daring one of the DDs I am most comfortable playing in especially if there are CVs about and after 3 games I had had enough. It's very easy to get first blood and do a lot of spotting in DDs but either your battleships and crusiers fixate on shooting the most long range enemy BBs with their HE or they all find the biggest island to hide behind. So even when you spot the enemy DD and engage it no one else shoots it (thankfully was the same when I was spotted most enemy cruisers wouldn't demean to shoot a lowly DD not when there was a BB at max range). The other thing is the Daring has Hydro so guess what I spot a lot of torps for my teammates which in theory would allow them to try and dodge but nope that's boring. To be fair there was some pretty bad potato play by plenty of DDs tonight but the behaviour of teams tonight was poor to say the least so I hopped back into playing crusiers it's easier. -

I did try playing battleships in the sub test mostly Warspite or PEF to see how it was, unfortunately it was difficult to get any real results because naturally the enemy CVs saw a battleship stupidly pushing forward and would focus on me. So it was only only a couple of battles where I ever got to actually play against the subs. Hopefully though more data will become available when this mode comes to the live server. -
Results: Week-Long Recruit-A-Thon

There was a time I used to really encourage friends to play this game and a fair few did take it up for a while but 0.8.0 drove all but 1 of them off the game. Now with the dying out of operations, constant spam of high tier premiums, and the dismal lack of balancing in regards to CV interaction and Russian ships not to mention the beginnings of subs coming to the game there is no way I could recommend this game to anyone. I just don't hate my friends that much! -
CV dive bomb damages after hitting water

Happened to me a lot over the weekend during clan battles, it's the joys of de sync. -
This CB season's gotta be the worst one ever
lovelacebeer replied to mantiscore's topic in General Discussion
My clan has encountered a couple of other clans using the Thunderer, it certainly hurts when they shoot you but it wasn't enough they still lost. There are still quite quite a few Des Moines out there but it really depends on the skill of the player to get the most of it -
I think I had to open about 20 containers before I found out there are some containers that have more than just 5 tokens so that was a little surprise.

The delay between the CV dropping me and then the damage registering is really annoying. -

One thing I'm curious about is many have suggested subs would be great for hunting CVs or punishing island campers, Thus far the battles I have played have not really allowed me to test this but have any of you gentleman had any luck testing this aspect and how have you found it ? -

I look forward to seeing which new characters they add, I'm still hoping for Belfast but only for her very ample personality of course. -
What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

Always something satisfying about getting more base XP than the best player on the winning team, still was unlucky having an AFK battleship (of course was the one who spawned on my flank) still was a fun battle overall. -
From the perspective of playing the Submarine the only things that I would suggest was we could really do with a quick command to get to periscope depth. The other was the Magnetic torps I still don't feel they are that necessary however it would help if there was an obvious count down for how long the lock lasts. The one thing that really I found frustrating was when fighting other subs it was so slow irritating trying to find then torp with enough range to have the time to lock the torps onto the other sub. It was possible but I feel that the sub vs sub gameplay still needs development. Not sure if anyone else found this but when submerged the silhouette of surface ships was also hard to read I had to rely on the minimap to know which way the ship was actually facing because it wasn't clear. From the perspective of surface ships it was hard to get an accurate reading as the behaviour on the PTS was very unlike the live server (not surprising really). However overall reasonably ok, the battles were all too close quarters to really get much of a feel for how actual game play would be like. There is potential in submarines but from what I experienced this test felt rushed and that there is a lot more that needs to be done before I could really give it a fair hearing, although it could in part be because every battle I was in was more of a yolo rush experience than a normal battle.

For a CV line to learn on the British are probably the worst, I would recommend either of the other two lines to begin with and come back to the Royal Navy line once your more comfortable with CV play

Thus far the Russian sub gets a heal which is honestly pretty damn impressive, for that reason its been my favourite one to practice with as its very forgiving of mistakes. -
Public Test of Update 0.9.4: Round 2

One thing that surprised me was on about my 20th Soviet container it actually gave me 25 tokens rather than the usual 5 tokens, are they meant to be random and I was just very unlucky to get so many 5s or was it bug getting 25? -

Exciting sub on sub action second only to watching paint dry -
Although it's more normal to be called a cheater by the enemy team carried the game, it can happen with teammates especially if your playing a ship they don't like or in a previous battle they lost to one the ships your playing. Only the the other day a friendly CV dive bombed me for the crime of playing the Oland, sadly there are always such people in the world thankfully they are rare (ish).

Not for a very long time that's for certain, WG are for more interested in subs development and adding new lines over reintroducing old ships, or god forbid balancing CVs better. Even then I seriously doubt they would ever bother putting then back as odd tier CVs, more likely they will be tweaked to sit on even tiers and given some special flavour as an alternative line.

lovelacebeer replied to mantiscore's topic in General Discussion
I really feel for the teams that bring battleships rather than CVs, my goodness we won when I was the CV (Audacious) and I am useless in CVs! Still the games with CVs are exactly as I feared very dull and predictable with no real chances to do anything original. -
Fighter planes should engage DD's.
lovelacebeer replied to Yosha_AtaIante's topic in General Discussion
Considering the up coming introduction of subs and the precedent set by HMS Warspite sinking U 64, why not also make battleship fighters drop depth charges.
