I hate the Aircraft Bureau Rivalry
ThePopesHolyFinger replied to Purnylla's topic in General Discussion
I have absolutely no clue about what this event is. It's just another "click here for something" thing. Dunno what I'm supposed to do, dunno which ships I can do it with, dunno what I get if I accidentally pick the correct planes to fly in World of WARSHIPS. But it's great that weegee are improving the game and giving us what we didn't ask for. We might end up surprised if they eventually get round to fixing the great torp [edited]-up, but I doubt this is high on their to-fix list. There's no money in fixing things on the to-do list! -
Torpedos are even more broken now!
ThePopesHolyFinger replied to Steel1nvader's topic in General Discussion
Because they really don't give a flying duck about the game, only our cash. -

How to stop main guns tracking "depth charge air strike"?
ThePopesHolyFinger replied to cracktrackflak's topic in General Discussion
Mate, I understand your pain. BUT, this is a game where we can't even land torpedoes where we aimed them. Fire torps while turning your ship? NOPE. Update and "fix" = torps go wherever you're looking, not aiming. You really must be new here. Locked on a target, switch to a new target but the games says NOPE? This is entry level gaming stuff but weegee can't manage this. I'm delighted you get to see a sub to shoot at, normally they remain hidden until the last 5 seconds of the game. This is so much fun and engagement. -

ThePopesHolyFinger replied to Crysantos's topic in News & Announcements
@Crysantos @MrConway In January this year, I was made redundant from a job I had done for 34 years. I knew it was going to happen several years ago because the management didn't listen to the customer, or the employees. But I stuck with the job because the money was to good to quit. So I know exactly how you're feeling. Unless you're the management driving the company down... We lost customers due to lack of communication - they didn't understand that we were too busy focusing on things they didn't ask for, didn't need and didn't want. You don't understand this yet, but you're heading the same way as my old employer. But, take heart; redundancy can be a very good thing. You get paid a shed load of money and have lots of free time to do the things you want. You'll actually feel relieved that you don't have to make crap up to please your customers. You'll feel like a decent human being again. My old employer is about to close the company. The customers have no faith in a company who don't listen, or understand their needs. Nor does a high staff turnover create confidence. I'm more than happy to pass on my experience and knowledge to those in a failing company, even those who are blinded to the failings of the company.- 674 replies

Ten Easy Things that would make Coop a much better experience
ThePopesHolyFinger replied to SodaBubbles's topic in General Discussion
My issues with co-op: 1: There is no consistency in the number of humans per game. It used to be pretty much 2 players and 7 bots against 9 red bots (I tend to play after midnight, don't know if this was different earlier on in the day/evening) Recently, it's mostly 7, 8 or 9 players and that's just pointless. 4 or 5 minute games are the norm, and it's just a mad rush to the centre. 2: Bots are just plain stupid. They often don't recognise islands and run themselves aground. They also ram each other constantly. Because they ram each other constantly, there's no pint trying to shoot the red bot because you're almost guaranteed to hit a friendly bot and a get warning for shooting allies. 3: There are pretty much always CVs in co-op. Even if no player is playing CVs, they're forced into the game anyway. -
REMOVE SUBS from COOP please!!!
ThePopesHolyFinger replied to RamboCras's topic in General Discussion
My point was that I never see subs in co-op when I take ships with asw. -
REMOVE SUBS from COOP please!!!
ThePopesHolyFinger replied to RamboCras's topic in General Discussion
The best way to remove subs from Co-op is to play ships that have ASW capabilities. Every game I play a ship with ASW, there are no subs. Take a ship without ASW and guess how many subs are in the game? It's like weegee want to piss you off as often as they can. -
Public Test 0.10.8 - Aircraft Bureaus Rivalry
ThePopesHolyFinger replied to TheWarJaC's topic in Archive
This is World of Warships. I'm really not interested in aircraft being in the game and I'm definitely not interested in testing anything to do with aircraft. -
Somebody help me understand wg logic behind which ships get asw
ThePopesHolyFinger replied to leonport's topic in General Discussion
I'm amazed you expect any sort of common sense from weegee - you must be new here. I don't think they even know what they're doing, other than checking spreadsheets and taking the piss out of us all. They think double CVs in 7 vs 7 clan battles is a good thing. They're pushing subs into the game when they are no way near ready for being in the game. Weegee do stupid things all the time these days, we shouldn't be surprised anymore. We REALLY shouldn't expect them to listen to the people playing the game. -
Thanks. I wasn't happy at the time, but it didn't take long to realise that it was a good thing to have happened. I'm in no rush to find a new job and actively trying to figure out if I can retire at the grand old age of 54. There's not a hope in hell that weegee get any more of my money!
-
This is true, I knew this. I dread to think how much I've given weegee over the years, but my wallet closed to them when they screwed the pooch with CVs. Which is a shame really, the game used to be great fun and I really didn't mind paying for fun. I was made redundant at the start of the year and now have lots of free time, and a rather sizeable redundancy package, to spend on something. But it ain't gonna be weegee.

I'd be curious to hear why all other official mods are working, apart from the score timer. I have a theory (fell free to send me tin-foil hats) which works in my mind, but I have absolutely no idea how the counter works and could be entirely wrong. Subs and bots, or specifically sub bots. Weegee have screwed up bots recently, they run aground on the far sides of islands - it's almost like they don't see the island in their way. Subs just disappear and no one knows where they are; how can a timer calculate the time remaining when no one can see the sub and everyone spends the last 2 or 3 minutes of Co-op games running around trying to find these wonderful new gimmicks? It may be something more complicated, but I really wouldn't be surprised if weegee added something no one wants with the bonus that it screws up mods along with gameplay

How Much does wows make for WG?
ThePopesHolyFinger replied to kapnobathrac's topic in General Discussion
Do you have inside information, are are you just a weegee fanboi? We have no idea what weegee's finances are, or how much they make. Stop justifying their underhandedness unless you can show us otherwise -

ThePopesHolyFinger replied to YabbaCoe's topic in General Discussion
Before I go further into detail, subs are just stupid and belong only in games with CVs - they need their own server for this level of stupid. Now, constructive criticism: There are FAR too many ships which don't have anti-sub counter-measures. That needs fixed about 27 patches ago. In port, there is no quick way to tell which ships have anti-sub counter-measures. Yes, I can go to each ship individually to see if it's going to be dis-advantaged, but that's just a ball-ache. We can see which ships are premium or elited, but we have no idea which ships can counter the much wanted subs. On the odd occasion I have a ship with depth charges, I have no idea what range they have and, thus, no idea how best to deploy them. The inclusion of Dutch aircraft (in a warship game) at least have a box indicating where bombs will be delivered; we need something similar for depth charges. Should we encounter a surfaced, or sub-surfaced submarine, (it's either a sub, or a surface ship, because physics) we see a silhouette which we can shoot at. Shells appear to drop 100m or more beyond the half sub/half ship, but sometimes the shells somehow do damage. But when seeing shells flying 100m or more beyond the half sub/half ship, the instinct is to aim lower but then no hits happen. This is stupid. I know @MrConway and @Crysantos are having a bit of a crap start to the week, but it would be good if they could take these comments on board and either kill subs, or just remove them from the game until they are way better than they are at this stage of introduction. -

This has been an issues with weegee forums since I started using them a very long time ago. Do you expect CVs and subs to be fixed before or after they fix the forum? -
There's another really annoying bug in the game. Not really sure how it works, but ships defy gravity and jump up and down when shot. It's stupid AF. Stop it please, or tell us what we have to disable to stop it.

This is what weegee want. You paid for premium ships a long time ago, now weegee want you to buy "new and improved" premium ships. They think we're stupid

My Ibuki, no depth charges, no asw aircraft. Image says it all really. Stupid shite is stupid shite -
If only weegee employed people who could have identified this "could be a bug" bug before folk decided weegee were taking the piss out of everyone, this game would be so much better than it currently is, If weegee decide to employ someone who understands this, could you direct them to the buffoons who thought subs and CVs were a good thing please. Because they're not.

What would you rate the current state of the game and why? (EU Edition)
ThePopesHolyFinger replied to Srle_Vigilante's topic in General Discussion
What would you rate the current state of the game You didn't give this option, but I'm going with a clusterfuck of stupid. Are weegee running out of money and desperately trying to generate cash to save the game, or are they just desperately trying to generate cash? -
LittleWhiteMouse leaves the CC program
ThePopesHolyFinger replied to Miscommunication_dept's topic in General Discussion
Why are we surprised about this? weegee don't like listening to players, CCs were the players best hope of getting their views across to weegee. So weegee kill off CCs with an almighty FU to players. Comrade Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin would approve. -
weegee suggests you spend more
