Out of plus-ones, sorry. -
Different accounts, different servers mate. WG was talking (a looong time ago) about migrating accounts, but that's a long way off I feel.

Any chance this game will get a realistic mode?
Khul replied to canuckster's topic in General Discussion
The game you are looking for is called Fighting Steel. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=fighting+steel&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=W7SWVfHXHqzU7AbF3aeYBA Or, if you don't mind burning money, Jutland by SES studios. Despite Fighting Steel's graphics, you're better off with the older one. BTW: The game you're playing is called World of Warships, which is an arcade MMO with ships. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. PS: If you're losing one on one near full health versus a cruiser, unless you're in a Myogi or smth & it's a Cleveland: -
Subjectively, I've noticed a bit of a decrease in Yub's AA abilities, any hard numbers from anyone please?
-
Large calibre shells are now doing splinter/splash damage to modules on very near hits. I believe this was in the patch notes (& my Yubari's rudder can also attest to this). EDITED: Removed off-topic bit, sorry.

You are just as good as RNG allows you to be!?

Am I seriously the only one who can't spot the Yamato-sized disconnect in your logic here? Let's try it another way: In my Arkansas, sometimes I see shells coming that I cannot get out the way of, despite seeing when they're fired & attempting to turn at my ship's maximal rate; in your words I am "skilled enough" to avoid that fire. Yet my ship is big & unwieldy, & therefore gets hit. Are you proposing that, even though I am "good" enough to dodge, because the ship I'm driving doesn't allow me to dodge, the game is faulty in its representation of said ship? EDIT: Or, again, is the answer to the question "Why can't I dodge in time?" inevitably begging the answer "Sail another ship"? & if not, why not & how is shooting different than that? -

Wait, so, just to get this straight: you want a game which is about (thematically speaking) massive things that found it very, very difficult to hit things but when they did absolutely obliterated them, to be a game where it's easy to hit things & you just do a little bit of damage every time? I am not attempting to be facetious, I just want your own argument laid out before you, because I think it's category error time again. Sorry if this sounds off, it's just so many people posting on the forums lately don't seem to actually want to play a naval game at all, as far as I can tell. -

Please don't make co-ordinating harder than it already is, WG. TY. -

Thread for new players: BB's are not underpowered as you think
Khul replied to Mister_Greek's topic in General Discussion
Great post mate. Can I ask you to put up something specific about appropriate consumable usage? I've seen you take horrific amounts of damage in your Yamato in CBT & plod on to a win, I think that'd help new battleship players immensely who don't seem to understand the strategic cunning involved in prolonging their ship's lives. I did witter on about it here but you're gonna make a better fist of it than me, I expect. PS: Yeah, what Kryostorm said above me! Sorry mate, didn't mean to ninja-edit my post but I thought about it & thought that getting MrGreek or another really good battleship player to explain it might be better! -
^ this. Also, hasn't the OP been whining like a douche making one of these threads a week for about three months, about torps destroyers HE cruisers carrier planes whatever has sunk him last? The problem is, people like him make the game harder for new players, 'cos they want to know why they got eaten so they come here to vent & instead of finding--say--MrGreek's explanation of consumable usage or OnboardG1's "how to carry in a battleship" & learning to play the bloody game, they get doofuses like this & the "BBs are underpowered!111" thread-starter confusing them further. Sigh.

You forgot to add "Then scream at your team in chat after you die, alone, amidst a sea of hidden destroyers & incoming torpedo bombers".
-
"ONE SHOT HACKER NOOB" already heard twice! I must be better in my Arkansas than I thought (N.B: still, not any good).
-
From my limited BB play this patch (I suck so badly in them it's not even funny, I mean seriously I'm a bloody liability to my own team when I'm in a BB) & keen observance of others, I've got to say that I think a lot of people just don't "get" the naval gunnery combat thing (including me!). Saying "It's a shotgun, so I can't hit anything when I aim precisely" is kinda missing the point, imo: if you know it's a shotgun, you aim it like a shotgun, not like a bloody sniper rifle. They are huge imprecise clumping weapons of doom, & one needs to take into account the predicted shot pattern, fire off a couple of turrets to judge the lead, & then sow the general area of aim with your enormo projectiles of death, not aim for a pixel & then complain when you don't hit it. If you watch a good BB player, the way they aim is to use the spread & the shotgun effect to their advantage; the really good ones get so used to the predicted spread they can actually target different bits of the ship with it, 'cos they know their ships so well. Of course, this means getting closer than 15-18 km, which since "open" beta I've seen about 1 battleship in 10 actually try to achieve... EDIT: Just in case you were wondering, yes I am confessing to suck hard in battleships, but I don't think that means the class is useless. I mean, I suck hard in US cruisers, in US DDs, in aircraft carriers & on & on... But I'm willing to try to learn, 'cos I see other people can do wonderful things, & I kinda prefer thinking of it this way (I just don't know what I'm doing) rather than "WAAAAAAAAAH!!! This doesn't meet my expectation so it's broken!".

Just so you know, I've now got that second GIF bookmarked under "All-purpose WOWS forum response". Thank you very much.

Can I just say, WG dudes, you fixed my loading times & like 90% of my stuttering/slowdowns/laaaaaaaaaaaaaaag with this last patch, whatever it was you tweaked, please remember the people like me running this game on 1980s desktop calculators who really really appreciate that the trend toward worse performance that seemed to be the direction of the game for the previous couple of patches has reversed. (I know this is a little late & something of a non-sequitur, but I see so many people complaining about poor performance I'd just like to make this public that it is at least working for someone, my little dual-core laptop is running beautifully atm. Not attempting to diminish anyone's input for whom the game isn't running right but thought I should give them a shout out).
-
Thank you both so much for confirming this btw, I'd +1 if I had any left, I thought I was going mental or my game was broken or something.
-
I'd plus-one you if I could, but I'm out mate, sorry. Anyway, I like your suggestion, or at least, I like to ponder this game with an alternative method of aiming. It was certainly a bit of a shock when I got in on CBT & found out how the guns were aimed. But having played a bit, I can sorta (sorta) see why they did it--because everything's ridiculously fast. Never played Navyfield (& that sounds like an intriguing method of gun-laying, too) but I'm sure (at these acclerated speeds) most WOT-type players would hit themselves, rather than the enemy, with anything other than point-o click-o. What I do think, though, is that they've basically made a really crap-hot PT boat/MTB/S-Boot arcade action shootemup faux-simulator, & because of knowing the vanishingly small audience that would sell to (Knights of the Sea? Anyone? No, didn't think so) they decided it had to be at first a battleship game, then in order to wow more people in with the ZOMG factor they thought "LET'S REFIGHT WW2! with carriers & long ranges & different classes & everything!!!" & just CTRL-C CTRL-V'd in BB models etc & added a zero to the ranges. BTW: I'd love to see this redone as an MTB shootemup, biggest ships destroyers or light cruisers or something. It'd be ***ing triffick, it's all there already. But then only me & twelve other people would play it. EDITED: 'Cos I really wanna play "World of MTB's" & now I've thought of it I can't stop thinking about it.

Seriously, am I missing something? Can other people not buy the better class of consumable for credits? Or does it change at higher tiers?
-
I don't understand, I'm only at tier 4 but I can buy mine with credits?
-
I, however, am making a concerted effort to be more pleasant, lately. The beads of blood that you can see standing out on my forehead? No cause for concern.
