Will we ever see submarines in this game?

I'm pretty sure there will be submarines, might take a while though. They obviously won't have a maximum of 5-7 knots aswell, this isn't about historic accuracy when it utterly cripples gameplay, go seek examples on existing classes on your own. .p
  2. The smoke screen nerf made it harder for destroyers in general, the Sims always was a bad investment though. You made the right choice if you liked the looks, but when it comes to performance you were screwed from the start. The main selling points are so obviously terrible... 4 guns and redundant parameters like 0.3 more knots and 5 sec gun traverse... seriously, it was a bad ship the second it was announced... at Tier 7. Well alright, to be honest it might be a great brawler in smoke screens to light up any destroyers, as the rudder shift time makes it easier to avoid point blank shots, but the killing is more likely to happen from a cruiser... I mean really, cruisers wreck destroyers... not the Sims. Damn, I hate this thing... .p

    Cleveland Shot range?

Cleve range with skill is 17.4km, however this is highly situational, and only works on ships which tunnel vision. Same on the Atlanta... those 13.3km surprise some people who try to kite you, but in the end it's mostly about the AA range increase imo. Although you literally can rain some fire....

Well I can, but I'm awesome.

    Winrate - An annoying stat

Winrate is a bad stat, apart from not proving anything, it results in a lot of unnecessary rage, it doesn't even include information on divisions you had (which have more impact on performance). Stats in general are sort of a mixed bag in WoWs, while average damage and XP are an indication of performance (the general one on the mainpage is misleading however), hit rate is not, as it's mostly dependant on range and class. For instance I screwed mine up the last few days as I tried to abuse the 20% range on 155mm- guns. Generally speaking, someone with ~40% hitrate, doesn't take any risks to engage targets at higher ranges, while this has tactical applications, it's not a measurement of skill, it's mostly just stat padding, although there are people who still have problems with ranges below 12km though. Long story short... most of these are just useless, and result in rage, which kinda sucks.

They really need to fix all these draws.

I'd have laughed if you had posted the chat aswell where your team screamed "NO CAP".

The problem with carriers is, TBs alone don't have a high skill ceiling, I guess most get the hang on those after a few hours of play. Carriers as a role though, have a high skill ceiling. It's more about when and where to strike, and giving your team useful reconaissance. Again, DBs need some tuning, but the RNG part is highly likely meant to stay (and by that I mean the manual drop), as it's a big part of WoWs.

Ofc I did, my point was, enjoy some RNG like any other class.

In most cases they can't, there isn't even a solution for evasion if the CV isn't a new player, stock hulls have ridiculous rudder shift times, the second they turn, they even close the distance to a proper drop, making it easier for the eels to hit. The Arkansas is probably the best example ever, if this thing is able to dodge torps, you just suck at playing CVs. The Myogi and Wyoming are sort of in the same spot, but at least they wear down planes (slowly, but still better than nothing I guess), it's still unplayable for them, more so when the CV player has some experience, and air superiority (being the only CV in play, as if the reconaissance bonus alone isn't broken enough). DBs would be utterly broken if they had increased damage, or even hit chances, with the current mechanics. It would require an increase of the activation radius, to give the target enough time to react. While they do need some love, you probably shouldn't expect less RNG. If they're supposed to be more accurate, you probably also should expect more time for the targeted ship to react (making them even more useless on DDs and some cruisers than they're now). Oh and yeah... that's before Defensive Fire for obvious reasons.

Hydroacoustic Search- Will it make DD useless

Yeah, but that was about cruisers. .p
  11. Pawndemonium

What have you done with the game WG?

Don't touch that dial now, we're just getting started.

Hydroacoustic Search- Will it make DD useless

The only real use is to prevent smoke capping, it also works well in tandem with Vigilance for a support role, although losing the ability to utterly destroy CV runs, is a big deal, and generally not worth it, unless no CV is queued. Really... as a Destroyer I'd be more worried if the Cruiser uses Situational Awareness, that's the stuff which ruins surprises.

What have you done with the game WG?

Low tier CVs are a problem, along with Domination (at lower tiers). Both of these will fend off people, or at least give them false impressions (as CVs learn the hard way at T6+ til T9 I guess). Those bugs suck aswell... but yeah, beta and stuff. BBs are mostly played in a wrong way though. A lot of people try to snipe at the highest ranges possible through the whole game. This not only results in many misses (and a lot of RNG when it comes to performance itself), it results in the player being useless for the team. That in itself might be a problem, as new players probably expect to be big indestructible behemoths which utterly wreck everything they aim their guns at. BBs can apply pressure, even in Domination, they just need to make use of their hitpoints aswell, not only their range.

    Best Premships yet

Imho they could balance it by increasing its torp range to at least 15km, but the more of its eels are flocked together or at least are close together, the easier they are to detect up to like... 4-6km. A single spread should still be detectable at least at about ~2.5km though. While this isn't historical it would be worthwhile to test gameplay-wise. This thing was even in its earlier iteration a ridiculous asset to have in Domination mode, no idea if that ever can be balanced.

    Arkansas Historically Accurate?

And then there is the Murmansk... .p

    How has your "OBT" started?

Hm not going to lie, in this state this game will have a rough time, as new players will leave out of frustration, after about 20 games. Low tier gameplay is just too one-sided, ships are slow, tedious to play, balance is out of wack as carriers have an easy time at lower tiers (being its own layer), giving the false impression, and I think the worst offender is Domination. The latter just shouldn't be available below Tier 5 or 6, and more importantly it should be optional (I tried to enjoy it, but sorry... I can't, it utterly sucks). Most people lack any idea what to do, and it results in getting steamrolled, which is just a terrible gameplay experience. WG tried to build towards those different roles over many tiers, leaving only a one-sided gameplay at lower stages (for obvious reasons, but how should new people know that), but totally ignoring that approach in game-modes and slamming random people into something which requires a little bit of strategy is imo quite negligent. Hell, just play a Tier 8 WoT battle, and tell me if people know what they're doing. I think the economy is alright, the income justifies the pricetags on those modules, you basically just need to hit some sh*t and you're fine, the account levels help aswell, however, sealclubbing is another major issue in WoWs. You have modules, commanders, flags, camouflage... while most might guess the commanders are the big deal, all this stuff together just makes it even worse, giving those a hell of a ride, who are just new to the game, and aren't even aware of those options (as they have to be unlocked). Honestly, some months ago I thought this game will be a big deal, and while I still enjoy it, I guess I'll be a minority, you need to commit yourself to the game (and I'm totally fine with that), which doesn't seem to attract many people these days, more so when you get punished for being new. tl;dr: Domination sucks at lower tiers, it also should be optional, and new players should be made aware that low tier battles aren't even close to what higher tiers have to offer (which is a huge difference to WoT, where it's just about more of everything), maybe also remove those account features from lower tiers (1-4), to make sealclubbing less ridiculous.

This is ridiculous - sudden CBT end/Betaship

Care to explain what's not fixed enough to warrant an open beta? I'm just curious as I tend to think that you have no idea what you're talking about, the part with open betas usually happening when something is polished enough, made me lose brain cells.

only 5000 not 10000 when I bought the Warspite...

Not that I need it, but as it has been mentioned on the news page, I didn't receive those 10.000 doubloons this time (2nd public test), even though i purchased 14.500 doubloons. So either only ships qualify for the bonus or it's a bug. ^^ I logged in before the announced time (around ~19:50 CEST).

A different idea of US staff from EU staff?

Next week is feasible to assume, there will be a new run for the public test today at 2000 CEST (UTC+2). So even without considering any official posts, they apparently have plans, as they are sort of in a hurry... .p

Thank You WG for the U.S.S Arkansas and goodies

I really do understand your argument about a premium vs. elite ship, but well... sadly there is the Murmansk (tbh that was the sole reason why I even opted in to that debate) .p The big downside on the Arkansas utterly kills it though imo (in the long run), having no AA with that rudder shift time (still about 18s with the module) makes it a prime snack for CVs, not that a bit of AA would fend of air attacks, but considering that there isn't AA present in general, it's literally just a waste of time the second a CV is in play. It's different on the Wyoming imo, as it still could flock together with other ships to at least make the CV lose some planes. In a gunfight the Arkansas has a slight edge I guess (faster reload), but in the end it's still just about citadel pens, and that gun accuracy is... yeah... I'd say they're even. Don't get me wrong, I still think it's a fun ship, but slamming in like 2 million credits to make it work is quite... unfavourable.

Thank You WG for the U.S.S Arkansas and goodies

In that regard i'd say that his stats don't suit the fact that the Arkansas is worse than the Wyoming, even when fully decked out in "expensive" modules. Just because you point out something irrelevant, doesn't make it a fact. Seriously... you seem to like stats, don't ignore them on the Arkansas.

Thank You WG for the U.S.S Arkansas and goodies

If you don't see that on your own, you shouldn't focus on trying to be an elitist j*rk.

    Seeing through smoke

Meh, was sceptical about this aswell, but apart from being necessary to prevent stealth capping, the cruiser has to give up his AA boost, which is significant.
  25. Yeah, no idea if that's intended, but considering that TBs utterly wreck you, I guess it's a special feature to not just make it a stock T4 ship with a nice paintjob. But really, it's an ejoyable vessel if you get some fighter cover or if there are no CVs present.
