    Yeah and that suggestion sucked, responded to that aswell, it won't happen though, that's what matters. Thing with AA is - as powerful it is on dedicated ships - that's sadly how CV mechanics work. Fighters behave in the same way, you intercept stuff, and faceroll it. In the case of the Cleveland, which I think won't be nerfed in a meaningful way (reducing base dps), it can be avoided, as she's visible before her guns hurt. At higher tiers the plane speed, along with more hp prevent most damage, and negate the ability if respected, if not the CV suffers. So I'd even go as far and say the Cleveland nerf is totally uncalled for. That's actually the main reason why I think the Altanta is so awesome, it has even more burst (48*9 vs 36*9) and gets spotted at 6.2km... that's some epic DP crap surprise that delivers even at T8+. edit: come on, the Cleveland isn't the issue here, it's the AA mechanics, so you can't really say the Cleveland nerf will prove your point .p apart from that plane scaling is in a worse spot, as it apparently totally ignores speed as a variable, apart from those ridiculous DPS values.

    Yo ttchip, don't ignore the Atlanta! .p (can't face T10 aswell) And about the Cleveland... it gets spotted at 8.2km, while AA range is 7.2km. AA range also won't be increased, I don't get the issue here, it was a terrible suggestion to begin with. Yeah, Cleveland AA is powerful, but that's solely related to the mechanics of DF. The base dps will stay at 36 (Pensa and New Orleans have 8*1 resulting in 24), reducing the duration of the cooldown would still screw lower tier CVs.

    Worcester AA info is still lacking the 156mm DP bonus though (which is relevant for the ability). Having it at 5dps/gun for 60 as a base would be... uhm yeah... heh

    The techtree version probably won't have access to torpedoes, but get more AA and a better rudder shift time. There was that guy who whined about his beloved Bismarck possibly being a premium ship... would be so awesome when he realizes that the Bismarck is just a terrible gameplay experience as it's just the stock hull... oh well. That's obviously just speculation, but I'm awesome.

    Reads a bit misleading, it's about the Cruiser line being released in October, the Tirpitz and/or Bismarck (mentions both, which is odd) might be available earlier. But in the end... time will tell. .p

    Uh... seriously how is AA in need of a buff? Are you guys on crack? Honestly... I have my gripes with CVs aswell, but buffing AA? What? Dedicated AA ships get their jobs done good enough, the problem just lies in people not caring enough to fulfill that role (lacking credit/xp reward), and planes scaling in both hitpoints and speed (which is more of an issue at T10, and maybe T9). CV fighter balance is crap aswell, it's too binary (and I guess some of you guys pretty much talked around each others arguments). But the last thing this game needs is an AA buff... maybe a rebalance to not make it so reliant on the Defensive Fire (like dropping the bonus, but increasing the base DPS). edit: DM AA with barrage is pretty much like the Atlanta, just saying.

    In their current form they just feel unfinished. While they offer different gameplay compared to other classes, their mechanics are just too binary. AA is a dull role, which consists of minor mind games, and clicking on targets, preventing to be available for more engaging objectives. Although it's still an important task, it just takes ships out of the battle. Fighters are pretty much in the same spot, you just click on stuff, and hope to intercept targets. Tier progression is in an utterly bad spot, mocking everything else WoWs stands for, ships of lower tiers are still competitive, while planes are just heavily outclassed by higher tiers. Some ships (slow rudder shift+large turning radius) suffer too much, even if they react 12 seconds in advance, as in those cases there is still only a single solution for maximum damage. Yeah, t's still a Beta, things will get balanced out, but I hope carriers get worked on, in their current form they just don't fit into WoWs imo. 0.4.1 might be a good start (rumours), I just hope it won't end there... .p

    Swap Cleveland and Pensacola

    Main selling points for the Cleveland are the AA, and the citadel (which can be hidden nearly completely with proper angling). The AA is powerful, because of the mechanics of Defensive Fire, along with 36DPS (6x2*3) on those DP guns. This probably will be offset by reducing the duration of Defensive Fire on that tier, which ironically screws carriers below T6 even more, as this reduces the cooldown of the ability aswell, but this remains to be seen, the DPS on those guns probably won't change. The guns however, as mentioned often enough, have an unfavourable trajectory, making long rage engagements situational (above 14km, at 17km it takes 17 seconds, the Murmansk has 14 I think with a bit more range, without the spotting plane). The main armament literally gets outperormed by a T4 ship, being the Phoenix. This ship actually can outplay the Cleveland because of her rudder shift time. The Cleveland was broken in the CBT, but in its current iteration she's in a good spot. There are light cruisers with a way better hit ratio, even if they have less guns, their shell flight time is just the main reason what matters when it comes to damage at long ranges. The Pensacola is a solid upgrade in that department btw. even if you lose DPM, it's not as if you hug your targets at ranges below 12km all the time, she's just not feasible if you favour smaller calibers. Pick the Cleveland, or the Atlanta if you want to p*ss carriers off, go for Pensacola+ if you want to dish out consistent damage at safer ranges.

    I never stated that, I just think it's useless to come up with such a "challenge". In most cases it's obvious that people exaggerate and have no idea what they're talking about. It might be more reasonable to come up with this on the PTR, but asking them to unlock a class they apparently never played (and probably won't ever play), which completely differs from everything else WoWs has to offer is just too much to ask. So it's not that those people tremble in fear to fail your challenge... no, they literally just don't give a sh*t.
  11. I'm probably a different breed of player, but I'd be offended by events like those held on the NA server. While those discount things and xp boosts are a nice addition I'd like to see occasionaly, I'd be disgusted by zerg events like farming random ribbobs/achievements, or even getting random stuff for free to keep players going. I think the EU staff does a solid job, even if it was sort of quiet in the past few weeks (like dev faq), and this multi language stuff shouldn't be rubbed in everyone's face so much (getting a forum post feed of other languages). All I'm asking for are stable servers, some community interaction, frequent news (portal related), the occasional discount stuff, and maybe even more insight on what the devs are working on atm. The game just works for me the way it is, I don't need crappy events or random free stuff... I just want a solid game.

    WG doesn't balance because of whining, they balance because of statistical data. Yes, there are a lot of CV whiners, but that probably does give a hint that something is wrong (and really, there is... even solid players admit that), apart from that it's to be expected to have issues with a class that differs completely from other gameplay. And your "challenge"? Hate to break it, but just don't get the false hint you might have a point, people just don't care... .p

    The only issue I see are people like you. You have played over 400 games already, probably didn't spend a single dime on the game - which is fine, the game is completely free - yet individuals like you come up with greed. Again, this game is as free as it can get, you don't have to pay anything at all to enjoy it. One of these ships, highly likely the Bismarck (in its stock configuration), will be free aswell, as it will be part of the tier progression, while the Tirpitz will be a premium ship (because of the camo pattern, and the torpedo launchers). How is that greed? WG is a company, they intend to make money, that's not greed, that's the sole reason a company exists. So here is a definitive answer for you, there will be a premium ship, please uninstall the game, act like a [edited], and get banned.

    6km torprange is fine. You want to get up close and personal with the Tirpitz, that belt armour is ridiculous at ranges between 6-12km. Ships like the Atlanta are your worst nightmare though, apart from carriers (brain my [edited], there is an easy solution the second you start turning). .p

    Hm not sure, I think the Tirpitz will be the premium ship (because of the camo pattern and the lower secondary range, and that unique addition of torpedoes). Bismarck having more hulls to progress, with no torpedoes but more AA (on later hulls ofc), better rudder shift time and stuff. In the end it's this ship (the class itself ofc) which would offend more people when it's not part of the progression imo. So... Bismarck is the techtree variant, Tirpitz the premium.

    lol, the Tirpitz is one hell of a brawler... that belt and torpedoes... olol .x With that rudder shift time and turning radius it gets utterly wrecked by CVs though.

    Thing is, the difference between 60 and 120 is highly dependant on contrast (between frames)... tbh it's utterly useless in most cases and a waste of money, unless you're into competitive shooters where this stuff matters. In WoWs you hardly need more than 60.

    I hardly play aswell... because.... IT'S FREAKING HOT OUT THERE, this summer is full of awesome, so is WoWs, I'll be back, it's just that... SUMMER FFS Stuff will be rebalanced where necessary... MM gets fixed on top of that... bloody awesome. Stop this doom crap, l2p.

    No it's not... it worked the very same way in CBT, it's just damage dealing auras (which stack on each other dependant on range)... anything else would wreck performance with those calculations, it has been explained in full detail in the post above, that's how it works, how it always worked... up to 7.2km with all relevant upgrades for the Cleveland (most ships actually, except higher tiers which get about a km of reach). Cleveland AA will be reduced, but let me tell you this, it won't be significant, I'd go as far and say that the main issue why you lose planes won't be changed (which is the DP burst). You probably won't like what else might change though. Statistics apparently have shown that some IJN CVs perform too well.
