Yeah, i have stopped playing DDs, especially with USN, they are unplayable: they must come close with their guns, and smoke do sh*t now to cover you... you can't escape with smoke, and you can't hide in smoke efectively when firing... And i'm also VERY disapointed in the devs attitude, "working as intended", yeah sure... Also it will be fun to see the new meta in ranked: DDs will now get rected hard, so we will see a BB and CV only at higher ranks.
  3. was playing with my Ryujo, and noticed that my bombers were still under AA fire, even when they were landing on the CV. Enemies was kilometers away (begining of the match). If i remember this bug was eliminated some time ago, anyone have it too?

  6. Soooooooooooooooooo.... after seeing this, devs still think everything is working as before? I wonder sometimes if they play their own game, or have just their nose in the numbers...

    How i adapt? i stopped playing DDs. Stealth and knowing if you are detected is EVERYTHING for DDs, if it is broken, you can't play properly. Maybe the 3 seconds was always there but we didn't remaked it due to longer loading times, so it was really a 1-2 second delay. But the bug is in the smoke, you can't rely on it anymore. And often now i kill poor little DDs who are sitting in their smoke, thinking they are invisible.
  8. so any new infos from the devs? it frustrates me how fast the BB overpen problem in 5.1 was adressed after the BB players shitstorm, but how the shitstorm of DD players is "game is working as intended".... aparently we don't whine enough

    well, if you are targeted by invisifire ZAO, then you don't have DDs spotting for you. If it is at the end of battle and there is only him and you, the only solution you have is sail in the direction from which shells fly and hope to detect him, or corner him. This mechanic can be annoying, but i think oneshot citadels on cruisers is more annoying. The invisifire bracket is very small on the ships that can do it, so it shouldn't be so much of a problem. And it forces BBs to stop camping in the rear

    sigh.. this again? when do people will understand that you have to avoid THE PLANES, not the torsp. If the planes are positioned in a way that they can have a perfect near-drop on you, you did something wrong. Even doing a simple turn when you see planes going in your direction is enough, i know what i'm saying, i play all the classes. And it increases a lot the difficulty to drop torps if the ship you target is even only doing a simple turn. Before the CV nerfbat, yes, planes acted like UFOs who can do a 90 degrees turn instantly, now they act more like planes, so you must predict the ship postion and do your moves way before you drop torps.

    yep, agree. before i had more time so grinding was easier, now i can play max 8 games/day, so grinding is more difficult, even with premium the longest grinds is at tier 8+, before it is ok i think. Maybe a little lore grind at tiers 5 to 7 but less at tier 8+ ?

    the grinding is mostly fine, the problem is "cockblock ships", like the tashkent: after a really good ship, you are stuck in a subpar ships, with even more XP/creds to farm, doing a lot less XP/creds because the ship is awfull.

  16. exactly that! smoke circles pop every 3 or 4 seconds, so you get detected, SA goes on: you pop smoke, you stay visible for 3 more seconds, the time the puff is popped. After that you are going too fast so you sail out of the smoke circle, next pop is 1 second away -> you are visible for 1 second, then you disapear. Note that SA is working everytime you are detected. Now: everytime you pop out of smoke, you are visible for 3 sec, but SA goes off after 1 sec. (in this case)

  18. no, it is since this patch, i'm sure of that. I play all classes, but DDs especially, and i pay attention to what they do and i know the tricks. But the smoke tricks don't work anymore as before. Maybe before AS was on the entire 3 sec time?
  19. one thing is for me 100% sure: there were never a 3s delay before when you blink in smoke. Just now i had a game in kutuzow when i rected a Benson who was laying smoke and decelerating, the 3 sec get you plenty of time to fire at him when he is targeted. Before 5.5? He would blink, but for less than 1 second, which would allow only guessing shots, not targeted ones.

And there seems to be also a bug with yamato's secondairies: https://www.reddit.com/r/WorldOfWarships/comments/4ia3j7/manual_secondaries_on_yamato/ before 5.5 DD poping smoke would blink for a second between the smoke puffs he is going through, now it seems to be really random, sometimes the DD apear at the end of his smoking, standing still in it, thinking he is undetected, then he get rected. i really hope they are testing it now with the supertesters.
  23. yep, when you blindshot, aka the ship is not locked, the dispersion is way greater.
  24. making my calculations and playing as i can, like it was for project R (so max 5 matches per day, weekend excluded), i can reach max 460 diamonds if the weekly missions stays at 80 total. In the next weeks, will there be some missions that will give you more than 20 diamonds? Also the sink 100 ships in a certain class, and play 200, 300 and 500 battles are unachievable by "normal" players, who can play a limited time per day. Why not put more missions requiring skill and not grind, like the 2500 XP one?
  25. No, inside smoke blocks line of sight normally. (or that was like that before 5.5) The blinking you see in smoke is a destroyer going too fast for his next smoke circle to pop when he is still inside the circle he just layed.
