Exactly this... If angling doesen't work against BB shells, there is no no way CAs will come closer to fight the DDs. -
with radar, no, you can't hide in the smoke. I think after seeing the falling WR of USN DDs, they will give them radar too, as it is their way to "balance" things.

you are only at tier 7. CAs can still damage BBs and play their role, BBs got big guns but it's more manageable, the ships are almost balanced to each other. This works until tier 8+. Then everyone focuses CAs because they are the easiest XP pinata of all ships. DDs torp them, CVs torp/bomb them, BBs citadel them, other CAs citadel them too. Another thing that bothers me is the fact that you got the same XP for deleting a CA in 2 salvos, as for destoying a BB in 5-6 min of non stop shooting. BBs should award more XP and credits, to encourage people to shoot at them, because now they are the last priority target and roam free. -

As was said by me and some others, the citadel damage on cruisers should be reduced. It should be something between 50/75% of the max damage, so it is still better than a normal pen, but don't kill you outright. There was a problem in beta with DDs, who get oneshot by a single hit to the citadel, so they removed them and now they do pretty well in surviving. CAs will be too OP without citadel, but the reduced cit damage should help them to do their role again at higher tiers. -
c'mon guys... DDs was never buffed, except for the slightly lesser detection range of torps at higher tiers, which can and is negated anyway for BBs with radar upgrade. The only thing making them seem OP is that ther is no CVs at higher tiers to spot them, and CAs are too affraid to go behind DDs to support them , because they will be instanuked by BBs when they are detected. I remember so many threads about them being way too UP, and now suddenly they are OP? One of the reasons we see so many of them, especially the IJN ones, is that with good camo, and relying primary on long range torps to do damage, if you play well you will not be detected during the match, and you won't have tremendous repair costs.

It WAS great with the 155mm before the nerfs. It was my prefered ship. Now it is a [edited, i sold mine and grinded to Zao.

As have been said, just play assuming your team are made of morrons, and try to carry by yourself (it can be difficult). Games were not that different than in a non x3 weekend. Sometimes you end with good players and play like a team, roflstomping the enemy, but it's rare.

i just completed the first mission, which should give you an ARP kongo, but i don't see it, even with the Yokosuka port. Anyone having this problem?

It is true that tiers 5 to 8 are the most fun ones to play (if you are not dragged in t10 games). That's why ranked was so fun to play (well, before all the good players ranked out...). As the game is now, i see no point grinding past tier 8, even if sometimes it is fun to roll out the shima for some torp porn -
gunfire? And what about the armor, the HP pool, the better pen, and the repairs before tier 9? BBs can do salvos of 30-40 k damage to CAs, CAs in return can be happy if they do 3-4 k per salvo on a BB...

i had the same idea some time ago, cruisers should take 50 or 75 % of citadel damage instead of 100%. DDs don't have a citadel, and BBs take 100% since they have the most HP.

260 collected and only doing the weekly missions, plus 10 games in DD, the research ones and the kills on tier 2 and 3, so pretty easy

Halleluja!!!!! Pwaise the lowd!!!!! this is indeed a very good change. And no, you don't get 1000 xp in a DD just by caping if you are on the loosing team, you must have a very good match to obtain that. And many times i had this 1000 xp points by loosing, and rest of the team had around 400.
