Hello guys !
I'm quite new to WoWs (well, not really, but since I'm playing something like 10 games a week and dropped off for almost a year, I still consider myself a complete rookie). I've played badly until I reached my two sweet spot ships for tier 3-4, the -[edited]OP- Bellerophon and the Langley.
When I'm top tier I just wreck havoc on the map having little to no problem scoring games with 15 planes down and 70k damage on a regular basis. Enemy Hosho are no problem as long as they are not packing their fighters together (and at that tier, I don't see that often). Enemy Langleys are somewhat harder but some brains help out a lot and I like playing the mind game with them.
But when I'm bottom, well... End of story. I'm just afraid to do anything due to the overwhelming superiority of T5 carriers, especially Bogue with fighters loadout. Seems I have to fight one in every game and I just can't deal with them. If my planes get focused they get down too fast to deal significant damage (and my one group of fighters is not useful to bring down two stronger squads). Even their bombers actually surprised me, got to attack a pack of two isolated from their fighters, I lost two planes before I killed one. Basically all I can do with my fighters is to wait for a lone bomber doing something stupid. My torps and bombers have a hard time going through to any ship without enduring losses from AA and I have generally a hard time landing more than two drops with any of those groups, and that's if the enemy Bogue left them rather alone. If I end up with 25k damage I consider myself lucky.
Soooo... How do you fight when you're a bottom Langley ? I'm certainly missing a point somewhere and I want to get this right before I move on to the Bogue and end up with the same problem one tier higher :D
