Ammo reload! why does it chance all if only 1 gun fired?
thunder3oo replied to SplitNail's topic in Archive
I was censoring myself, as you can see. I'll consider stop swearing when Wargaming will start respecting their customers. As a sign of good faith, Wargaming could start by buffing the Ishizuchi (momentarily a stupid ship) , for which myself and others have already paid, expecting that "great choice" and "perfect battleship" as Wargaming described it. We, the customers, have been tricked by Wargaming, no one can say otherwise. Period. -
Rompiuova is right, also. If they will add weather stuff in game, they must add something like... long time hydroacustic search for bb's, since they are almost defenseless to dd's long range torps, and maybe some countermeasures...
-
They didn't even captured the f*cking base as far as I remember, that's the idea.

What mods? If that means cheating, I'm not interested. -
Hmm, yes, I guess you're right.
-
's not working all the time. For some mystical reason... shells drop on the f*cking ground instead of hitting the target, even the target is highlighted. There are many bugs in the game, worse, it seems that the last updates brought us some more, like the fast winning system (jumping from 3-400-500 earned points to 1000 in a matter of seconds, battle's over)
-
Maybe you should ask yourself how many will be able to play the game then. Better visual effects (weather) = higher system requirements. There is already one map you can hardly see sh*t, since almost everything is gray.

You ask too much from Wargaming. From a bunch of people who's main methods are to trick and lie just to get the customer's money, yes, you ask too much. They didn't improved a single f*cking ship that myself and some others complained about, why the hell would they improve the game? These greedy f*cks... -
One time the team I was in shot the spammer. Problem solved, no more useless f*cking voice&text messages. Everybody was pleased.

It happened before many times, since the last update. This just happened to me and my team in a random battle. The f*ck is Wargaming doing?

That CPU stunt seems unlogical. But nothing surprises me when it comes to WoW's. As for your problem, BuccaneerBill, try to read all we wrote here in this post.

Hello. I managed to make it stable and playable on a PC weaker than yours (Core2Duo 3Ghz, 4 Gb RAM, nVidia 210/512 Mb 64 bit). It's all in the settings. Read our previous replies, it might help.

Yyyup. Finally they move their paid by us as*es... A little late, though...
-
Yup, could be that. High quality audio files = bigger files to play (this also requires more CPU resources, since the audio chipset won't do sh*t to help)
-
There are different settings for different PC's, ColonelPete. Also, there are SSD's and SSD's... different access time/writing/etc Yours is a top product? The CPU is good, even if is old, I have the same model, 6Mb cache still kick a*s. I may be able to help you, but I need some details (SSD model, video driver settings, inside game settings, if you set a fixed pagefile or not, sound settings - Khz/bit in OS and game low/high, programs that start with the Windows like antivirus, optimizers, etc - all these).

I don't know if you people remember I said that I have struggled 2-3 weeks to make it work (at that time the version was 0.4.0). So... I combined what I discovered with something they said in that "video settings guide". http://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/naval-academy/naval-academy-gfx/ My settings in the game at the time of 0.4.0 were - no vsync, no triple buffering, no animated objects, all others on low or off, excepting the water rendering (set to medium) and the texture filtering (jumped from trilinear to anisotropic from time to time) While in 0.4.0. activating the post-processing made the things worse, in 0.4.1 things has changed. It looks like they actually started to optimize it. I run the game on the same PC, same video driver, only now I use a little different settings in the game. Take a look: Antialiasing FXAA - was disabled in 0.4.0, now I use it on "medium" Sea rendering - was on medium, now I have to use it on "low" for better frames (it seems that this one "bumps" in another setting, I haven't identified which one, could the the post-processing) VSync and triple buffering are now enabled Draw distance - was "near", now is on "far" Object LOD - was on "low", now is on "medium" They said in that movie - that Post-processing should not be set to "off". So I tried it. Again. This time something's different. Smoother. Post-processing - was disabled in 0.4.0, now I use it on "high" I even dared to enable (pure curiosity) "sky and clouds" and set it on "high" - it's working. On my PC (Core2Duo 3GHz, 4GB RAM and nVidia 210 64 bit) I can get 20-30 FPS with these settings, with some spikes to 50, if I saw well. Not excellent, but it's playable. I even was able to have 6 kills in a battle. The other settings are, as I said - on low or off. Soft particles - is unchecked. The post-processing setting reminds me of a WoT setting, some setting concerning the texture of the terrain, it had to do something with the PC-server synchronization. Basically, that meant lag, and it was nasty by nature. That was one of the many times I asked myself if this game is made for rich kids. I asked Wargaming at that time why the game is made this way, there was no satisfying answer... and that was no surprise to me.

leo, that waiting time seems to be related to the pre-rendered frames setting in video driver. Try changing the value (increase it or decrease it). I had the same problem.

Well, you're right. There are cases in which AMD cards have more performance than nVidia. But in my view... putting together the xp I have with ATI/AMD products and the fact that most games are optimized for nVidia tech (which is important) and not for AMD (because nVidia developed some technologies and AMD... well, AMD is doing what it has done since they bought instructions for their CPU's from Intel - they imitate) = NO. Yes, I know that, there was a time when some bad cooling control was implemented in video drivers and that lead to dead GPU's.
-
PS I was about to forget. Once you get your graphic card, try different drivers. Different drivers = different performance.
-
I don't use sites/online store that sells products in GB currency, hmm, it's pretty hard to say. However... what I can recommend is a Nvidia based graphic card, NOT AMD. AMD is widely known for it's problem with drivers. As for me, working in IT service area since '99, I've seen more ATI/AMD "burned" or desoldering graphic chips (onboard - laptops and AGP/PCI-E desktop products) than Nvidia. That leaved me a bad taste. First of all, make sure your power supply is in good shape and supports the requirements of the graphic card you choose. Second - make sure the new video card has a proper cooling system (active cooling plus big&thin elements of the radiator, pipes preferable involved). Big coolers are preferred, as the smaller ones tend to broke more easily and get noisy once they caught dust. Even with a proper cooling on the GPU, it is recommended that you invest in a case cooler, if your case have free space/holes for it. Also check the specs of the card (dimension), make sure it will not hit/bend/heat anything inside the case (like cables). Third - implementation. A 960GTX made by Palit Daytona will never work the way something made by eVGA, MSI, or ASUS works. So choose something made by a strong firm. eVGA, MSI, or ASUS are my favorites. Alternative by price - Gigabyte (not my first choice, anyway). Even there, is good to read a review or two, there are products with noisy coolers (big RPM) or they tend to heat a lot. Fourth - a big video memory is good, but bits are better. If you invest money in something, get a card with at least 256 bit. By converting your 200 £ I was able to see where you can set your higher wishes. Most cards around that price have 128 bits, so... make a little effort and get one with 256 bit. I haven't the opportunity to see a 960-970GTX in action, so it's pretty hard for me to say "yes, you'll get 30 stable FPS and the highest settings in WoW's". Let's not forget that - even if WoW's is a multicore CPU game, it's literally choking the CPU. I realized that after almost 3 weeks of struggling with WoW's. So... don't get your hopes just on GPU if you have a weak CPU. Keep in mind that cache memory of the CPU is very important. If you search your model for comparison, you'll see that is somewhere on the bottom. https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+A10-7850K+APU&id=2133 I hope these will help. Cheers!

You're right, Jaeger_Bomb_Meister. It's a turd, and that only by Wargaming's doing. A battleship with 305mm guns that fires at 12,9 Km while same tier cruisers can fire further? I bought this in having in mind the idea of farming, I used it a little, then it hit me: enemy cruisers like Phoenix can fire rounds after rounds from longer range (13,7 km) with SMALLER guns. Not to mention that Myogi (15,3 Km without using the plane) or Wyoming (14,1km). They are widely used, so meeting them in battle is very likely. This sh*t is getting personal, so I'll start a new topic concerning the crap ideas used to design the Ishizuchi ship.

I have a question for you, guys. Have anyone tried the things I was recommending, like trying another video driver, other anti-aliasing settings, anisotropic filtering, pre-rendered frames (important), changing sound quality, etc? I can play the game on constant frames (17-22FPS) with a Core2Duo 3Ghz/4GB RAM and a 210 nvidia 64 bit&512 DDR3 and I was able to do that using the same video card&sound card on other motherboard+AMD Athlon64X2 2,5 GHz OC to 3GHz and 3GB RAM. Why can't you do the same on better PC's?
-
I dare to say that I managed to find some answers. I was able to play the game with an Athlon 64X2 4800+ (2,5GHz, it has only 512kb L2 cache per core) OC to 3GHz, even at high traffic hours, 25-35K people online. I realized (once again) that CPU frequency alone is not everything. Cache memory of the CPU is also important. Well... I needed more that 2 weeks to figure out what's the problem. My belief is that the game is not well optimized and it uses all CPU resources (actually chokes the thing to death). If I did it, so you can do it. It requires some drivers (in some cases) and drivers settings (audio/video). Set the sound to lowest rate, as it consumes CPU resources (set it to 41KHz, 16bit), play with driver's graphic settings (OS) and do the same inside the game settings, keeping in mind that there are settings that have something to do strictly with the graphic card load, while other settings have something to do with the load on CPU, GPU and RAM. Things are tricky. You may notice a drop in frames if you enable/change some settings to higher in video driver settings, but you also may notice that the thing has stabilized. For example: by changing 3D setting you may see that you don't play anymore at 70 FPS with drops to 1-10 FPS (horrible lag spikes involved), instead you play at CONSTANT 45 FPS with drops at 25-35 maybe. It works. The guys who discovered this and wrote about it are right. By giving more load to the GPU you let the CPU work more freely. Try these settings: Sound in OS - 44KHz, 16 bit Sound in the game - try "low" Anisotropic filtering (uses the GPU) - enabled, use application settings. Anti-aliasing (uses the GPU) - enabled, set it first at 2X, work from there Maximum pre-rendered frames (important!) - the default setting is 3 in NVidia drivers, for ex. But you have to know that different drivers have different options and WORK DIFFERENTLY with different games, so you may try another video driver (eventually older). I found one pretty old that allows me a max value of 8, works pretty well in WoW's with settings between 5 and 7. Multi-display - if you have a single monitor, set it to "single display performance mode". Power management mode - also important. It gives the required power to the GPU. BUT... it has been said that "adaptive" setting is not doing a wonderful job, because there are games where power management is not used at it should be. Set the value to "prefer maximum performance" for better results. Texture filtering - on Texture filtering negative LOD bias - Allow Texture Quality (uses GPU+CPU) - Try "Quality" or "Performance" instead of "High Quality". Texture Filtering - trilinear optimization - On Threaded Optimization - ON. Since the WoW's is a multi-core CPU game, I set it to ON. Triple Buffering and VSync - it depends of your graphic card and monitor, since it requires some resources. Set if "off" for more performance. You'll gain some FPS. For those who possess good graphics but LCD/LED monitors with low refresh rate, these two settings should be "On" and "Enabled" or "On" and "Vsync adaptive". They also need to be enabled in the game. info here: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/adaptive-vsync APPLY. After that - set all settings in the game to "low" or "off". Apply. Well, now your ship will look like sh*t, it will not have those details of windows, reflections and stuff, I know. But start from there. Get water rendering to "medium" and texture to "trilinear" or "anisotropic 2X". Play a game. Then get them higher. Keep in mind that settings like effects (there are two different tabs there), post processing, reflections, are VERY big resources consumers. My recommendation - start first with water rendering and texture filtering, all other on the lowest setting. Work with them in steps, until you get a decent performance and visual quality, according to you PC specs.

I have noticed something interesting related to fps. I had a standard nvidia driver installed (latest). Since my video card is made by Gigabyte, I downloaded this evening 2 drivers from them, expecting some Gigabyte features incorporated. Well... none visible. I installed the oldest one. There was no ,,nvidia high definition audio" included, as far as I can tell, but it doesn't matter, I don't use the HDMI port. So... While other drivers allowed me to change the pre-rendered frames to max 4 (and by setting it to 4, I got the delay they talk about in the setting description), this driver allows me a value of max 8 pre-rendered frames. I tried values of 3, then 5, then 7 pre-rendered frames. Game's still working on ,,7", constant 20-25 fps (which is ok for my 210). Now - the interesting part. Tickling video driver's settings seems to have something to do with the red "led" of lag (this setting in particular). In some games I got some performance with the pre-rendered frames set at ,,1" (a recommendation found somewhere on the internet). In other games - I got some performance when it was set higher. You guys could try other video driver versions (most manufacturers have different versions of their drivers available on their websites, you can check the archive/beta section, if there is one), as well you can try different settings (this one I just wrote about included). Have fun at constant and better fps ;)

If you visit the official site, you'll find there a mod pack. I had to do this in "blind mode", since it's written by russians, I guess, and all I got inside buttons were "???????" (I don't use their fonts, so...). However, I installed what was interesting for me, then started the game. Instead of having just the "Eu Server", now you have russian, japanese and something else in the servers list. To play on russian server you need to activate/make another account, if I remember well, after that you get a reply from them in your mail box. Try it.
