    Captains Skills - Tweaking needed - Too heavy grind

    I can tell you what I don't want to see and that's the WT system where crew can have skills upgraded for gold, pay to win. Some effort should be required to acquire a skilled crew. I'm not finding it too bad atm but I guess as this is beta the xp is somewhat enhanced.

    Don't be telling me what I did or didn't do matey, I KNOW what I did thank you very much and I'm telling you that a IJN carrier vs a US carrier with a fighter set up stands no chance whatsoever. I've played nearly 800 games so far so don't be talking to me like I don't know what's going on. If your only counter argument to my opinion of low tier IJN carriers is "Your crap" then kindly keep it to yourself.

    And what else was to be done? Thrall me with you wisdom oh wise master! In the first game I had 1 fighter and 2 torp squadrons, after my 1 fighter got taken out in 3 seconds flat on it's first engagement with US fighters (Over friendly AA I might add) I decided they were not worth it. The next 3 games there were only 1 carrier a side, me and a US on the other. In all three games my 3 torp squadrons got murdered, In one game I flew completely around the edge of the map in order not to get spotted and swatted. So take your "I assure you" and shove it friend.

    There is a balance problem with carriers in that if you are playing a low tier IJN carrier and find yourself against a US one you can pretty much kiss all of your planes goodbye. Gave up on the new IJN ones pretty quickly after 4 games in a row where my entire air wing got killed without launching a single torp. And yes I did all the right things, tried to find routes where I didn't get spotted, kept the ship close up to limit transit time, retreated to friendly cruiser AA and none of it made the slightest difference, get spotted, US fighters charge in, dead airwing.

    Yep, the OP is spot on, stopped playing IJN DD's and when we move to open beta won't bother with them at all. It's good that they are trying to give different nations very different flavours, it'll be dead boring otherwise but they still need to be able to compete and they just can't.

    Aurora's guns bugged?

    I'm making an assumption here that in sniper view the guns only fire out to the furthest point your sight goes out to, this is the case with all my other ships, however when shooting at the max range of the sight with Aurora it's shell's fall well short of that max range. The Sight will zoom out to 11 and a bit K, but the shells won't go that far, they drop short about 1K. So Aurora's gun sight needs adjusting or the guns need looking at.

    I like the map, I don't like the spawn points. My other problem is that I seem to suffer massive lag on it. I'd rather see Ice Islands or Ocean go tbh.

    Noticed that sometimes when receiving damage, where it normally says "Light damage" or "Moderate Damage" it just says "Text".

    Weapons locked

    I've just had this happen to me in my New Mexico and I have no idea what a python log is. I started the game and from the very start had no control of any turret or damage control, my secondary's fired but that was it. Wasted 3 pennants.
  16. I have to say that the MM at present can be very annoying, it doesn't work well. However I am fully aware that this is a test and look forward to a change. It is quite satisfying to wipe the floor with a team that had 4 more ships then you though

    Weird lag in game

    I have to say that I get this alot in WOWS, last night was really bad but don't tend to get it in WOT. I assume that as this is still a CBT we are running on bare minimum server requirements and would hope that when we move to soft release that servers are given a big upgrade. It would be foolish for WG to think that it's OK after release to have these issues, it's a game breaker for many.

    Yep, reported the same thing in the bug report section. When lots is going on the sound becomes terrible, sends my headphones nuts.

    Played alot since the patch and I have to say that as a cruiser player, mostly, HE is out of control. It needed something but this is too extreme, needs dialling back some.

    Will be interested to see how Atlanta performs after the patch in the morning. HE sounds like it could actually be useful now and that boat can soak an enemy in HE nastiness all day long.

    Open Beta Forecast?

    The new patch is just one example of why we are not ready for open beta, Major changes are on the way and that will all have to be tested, not least the armour overhaul which will make this a VERY different game if it works as advertised, a rebalance is also part of that patch for some lines. There isn't going to be an open beta as such, it's more a soft release then a beta so when CBT ends the game is pretty much released, so it has to be right not from a content quantity point of view but for the basic mechanics, which as I have said, need to be tested first.
