Nautical/Sea/Ship Jokes Thread - have a laugh!

Not so much a joke but an amusing true story. Many years ago an Admiral visited CTCRM Lympstone (Royal Marines training centre in Devon) for an inspection. When he arrived at the kitchens the staff fell in and the Admiral worked his way down the line talking to the staff. The Admiral stopped in front of one chap and asked "And what do you do?" the chap replied "I'm Chef Sir", the Admiral looked at him and said "Nonsense! You are a cook, not a Chef" and continued down the line. He came to another chap and asked him "And what is your Job here?" and the chap replied "I'm a Cook Sir" The Admiral asked him "And how long have you been a Cook?" , the chap looked the Admiral squarely in the eye and replied "About 45 seconds apparently Sir". -
I don't play carriers at all and yet still manage to complete these missions while just doing my normal gaming without too many problems, I don't take much notice of them tbh.

Strange, what time of the day was this?

Am I the only person finding the warning alarm for enemy capping your base intensely annoying? The alarm seems to be made up of 3 different sounds atm, the klaxon, some kind of ticking and a train type noise that gets steadily faster. Is it really necessary to have all these sounds at once, it grates on me like fingernails on a blackboard. I would think the klaxon would be enough.

I had a similar situation myself, got into a fairly close fight in the New Mexico against another NM and my secondary's opened up, so far, so good. A destroyer then appears between us and I take careful aim to avoid him and hit the NM, don't mind him being there, he's trying for a torp shot and I could use the help. The secondary armament continues to fire at the enemy NM but does not take into account the friendly DD however and although I don't do too much damage to him, he does take some hits. Secondary fire seems to be wildly inaccurate at times, shots were flying everywhere. I should have hit "P" in hindsight but in the heat of the moment I didn't even think about it tbh. I don't think it unreasonable for your secondary gunners to avoid shooting allies, they wouldn't do it in real life.

Oh you mean change the appearance with a skin? There are mods out there with skins but whether they have the one you want I can't tell you.

I'm going to disagree with some of what was said above and I have no justification for this but The T29 of World of Warships is the Cleveland and the KV1 is the Kongo. Don't ask me why, I can't explain it, it's just how I feel about them.

A man should always know were his towel is. Loosing streaks in WG games are a fact of life but at the end of the day this is CBT, your stats mean nothing they will be wiped so just play to test and not to win is my advice. -
I have to say that I have not experienced one single crash. Now I could be lucky, but I doubt it, so in the interests of narrowing it down: I have no mods at all installed I am playing on minimum graphics My drivers are updated I am running premium now and again and have noticed no performance difference I'm playing on a fairly old HP Pavilion laptop, specs are: AMD Phenom 2 P960 quad core 1.8 GHz, Windows 7 home premium, 64 bit operating system, 4GB Ram. AMD Radeon HD6470M card. So pretty low tech by today's standards.

Loads of work to do, American BB's and IJN Carriers have only just been introduced, The Pennant system has only just been introduced and armour has only just been introduced, all of which needs extensive testing and analysis. Currently there are issues with ammunition that might or might not need adjustment, new sounds and various other bits and bobs need tweaking. There are unresolved balance issues that are being discussed atm. We beta testers are still finding bugs and if you had access to that part of the forum you would see that we are working hard to give you a better game. If you want to play that badly and don't want the game to suck on release then perhaps you should put your money where your mouth is and muck in and help with the work.

OK, it would seem that the sound problem is directly connected to the lag. Played this morning, no lag, sounds fine, Played at lunchtime/early afternoon, very laggy and the sound was awful, Played this evening and no lag with good sound.

I'd agree with Aurora, especially as before the patch the guns were bugged and fell short a kilometre of her actual range, not played her since but I'm guessing that's not made a huge difference.

I imagine that there will be some kind of level to be achieved for the CBT reward, maybe over a certain number of battles played or bugs reported. Certainly I don't think you can expect a reward if you bought a premium ship and played very little. WOWP had a cap of 1000 games I think.

It's a difficult balancing act and some experienced IJN DD players probably don't agree that they are not competitive anyway. What's to be done? Well for my part I think if they had slightly faster turret rotation they'd be a lot more playable. -

The daily missions are not exactly hard to complete and I think the reward reflects their difficulty. I'm also sure that they are probably place holder rewards atm to test the validity of the system and when we move into soft release more thought will go into them. I'd expect to see a system much like WOT, with various specials and daily rewards happening at the same time.

I agree with the point of view that draws are bad, what can be done about it is complex and would take a deal of sorting out. WG would do well to consider a change like this for all it's games.
