The question does not exist. Scharnhorst is a fun to play, forgiving and with carryying potential BB at a tier that is (supposedely) at the best tier regarding MM this period. Plus it prints a lot of credits. Prinz Eugen on the other hand, is a rather mediocre t8 cruiser that has nothing special as a gimmick and underperforms like its sister ship. And u have to pay extra 2 or 3 k doubloons for an extra camo that gives it (some) extra credit potential. Plus it will be constantly be facing Yamatos, Moskvas and the like cause t8 is at a bad point MM wise. The choice is your ofc

Have played around 30 battles I think with the Charles Martel and I find that it fits my style of play very much. Had read in the internet that the French cruisers line will be a rather mediocre one and I was pleasantly surprised. Mainly play it as a IJN ship, stay at max range and shoot HE, but as the game progresses and the enemies get scattered u have opportunities to close in on overextended DDs and CLs and wreck them (for the former still using HE, for the latter switching to AP which is also surprisingly potent on broadsides) . And the torpedoes are pretty decent.

One possibility is next Friday the 30th,after patch 6.7 but some say on the 6th of July. Nothing sure yet.

Agree with all your picks apart from Graf Spee - which I will try for the lols of it in the early stages. I think this ship underperforms vs DDs due to its lack of gun barrels,odd positioning of them (most of the times u r gonna be using only 1 turret if u dont want to get instantly deleted by broadsiding) and horrible reload If u are an expert WOWS marksman u can indeed do good AP salvos but how many people really are?

I use fighters mostly in my BBs and generaly all ships ,except when I dont have the choice - i.e. Molotov. I am considering if I use BBabies in ranked to take the spotter plane. As, mainly Flamu and other, veterans have pointed out, you can use it effectively to counter barrage ships that sit in smoke. I have tried it and it works. Ranked is going probably to be heavy-smoke-meta so u can citadel the odd Leander with some practice.

You do have at least 1 squadron less in total with the balanced deck compared to AS or strike,dont you? Maybe that is a big disadvantage already. You have some strike capability with AS, and if they implement the AP US bombs maybe they could deal some more dmg if u strike the right targets. My point of view is that if u manage to stop a Hakuryu - which is such a huge threat as a dmg dealer for your team - with an AS Midway, your mission for the team is done. Shooting down planes gives plenty of xp and you will spot for your team to spread the pain. But as I said I am not much of a CV player so maybe u r right.

Not much of a CV player, around 3% of my 5k battles in them, I am up to Hiryu and Ranger at tier 7, and have played a few battles in the Saipan. From what I have figured out however in game, high tier US carriers are closing the gap with the IJN at tiers 9 to 10. Still Taiho and Hakuryu are kings but their US counterparts can give them trouble much more than a Ranger or an Independence can give to their own japanese counters. I also think that u should go AS decks with US CVs, I mean the only thing they have better is the power/squadron size of their fighters,why negate that by taking a strike deck where u r certainly at a disadvantage vs the IJN? Dude you already grinded 750k free xp for Big Mo and you still sit on a pile of free xp? How do you do that,struggling to gather 100k free xp but probably will buy big part of Mo with gold conversion.

You want to buy a premium BB or are you asking which nation line to grind ? In the first case both Scharnhorst and Tirpitz are solid choices for various reasons but if your only experience with battleships is the Hiei, which is tier 5, better buy something like the Texas or -at the most- Arizona or Warspite. You need battles under your belt of same tier to try premium t7s and t8s if u want to be succesful in them. All three tech tree lines are solid but with different playstyles. If u go US, try a concealment and A/A build (i.e. BFT for 3rd row cpt skill and CE for 4th). For Germans secondary builds are the best choice IMO (AFT or/and manual secondaries for 4th row cpt skill) IJN are good for tank builds (i.e. fire prevention for row 4)

Hello. If u are a bot the chances you are gonna reach Rank 1 are pretty slim. With 7 ships aside your contribution to the team is much higher in percentage than in random battles (In the first case u r 14% of the fleet , in the second just 8%). I have never reached above Rank 8 but I imagine the game becomes truly competitive in ranks 5-1 so a team missing 14% of its power is significant. That said a system ,i.e. , rewarding with a "no star loss" the 3 top xp earners of the losing team and at the same time punishing the last 2 bottom xp earners of the winning team would be more fair. But those are the rules of the game.

Glad to hear that man, in the Charles I dont really mind facing t10s, it is just such a lovely ship so far. Imagine having a heal PLUS being top (I think this period t 9 is the best by MM standars) or mid tier in the MM. Very promising line the French and (nearly) everybody was talking like it was the worst cruiser line ever.

Where is the DeGrasse? I will certainly try out this little monster,I had 3 solid games in it versus tier 8s and didnt give a damn! In Ranked it will permanately be top tier

As another member stated above,tier 10s are not very fun to play mainly due to the passive meta that is prevailing at very high tier battles. Khabarovsk is a fun to play t10 but it lacks the potential to carry (or better to dictate the pace of the game), I think that role goes to caping DDs. I have much more success statistically in the Moskva. I also like very much the playstyle of Charles Martel at tier 8, dont really crave to go to the tier 9 although it will have the heal consumable bonus. Cheers

All points true and summed up well. Bought it the other day in EU, played it only a few games, got a kraken in the 3rd and it seems pretty solid. Will definetely try it out in Ranked , the only 3 other cruisers I have are Perth (will try it out for sure), Molotov and Graf Spee (will not try them in Ranked). If the Duca is on sale again before the season starts I will give it a go too. Btw really enjoyed your game on youtube in The Henry IV the other day, wp indeed.

You play Edinburg with radar? Without smoke it is very fragile, you have to try very hard to find island cover or hijack friendly smoke. Hats off to you sir, u must be good with the Brits.

I seem to enjoy the Charles Martel very much, I am up to him in the French line. Edinburgh is pretty solid but I expect a huge jump in potential when I reach the Neptune. Des moines specialises in AA and with RPF (2nd 4 tier cpt skill after concealment) a very potent DD hunter in maps that have cover / islands. Moskva I have the most battles in and the best WR among t10 cruisers (my WR is generally horrible in t10 cruisers and t10 in general - around 45% or something). Hindeburg is pretty good all arounder and Zao a long range fire starter, at the end of the game it can become lethal in close ranges too. So depending on your playstyle and expectations u can pick accordingly. If it is your first cruiser line Japanese is the way to go IMO. Cheers

Lovely little ship. Just got the final stage of the current mission (5 kills and top 3 xp win) with it a couple of hours ago and I was playing vs tier 7s. Only a few battles in it but it feels strong. Very agile, good armament, nice surprise torpedoes. Solid choice,maybe I will try it in Ranked .My captain is 12 point (from my Charles Martel) with Priority target,expert marskman, demo expert , concealment and adrenaline rush. Again , for me , solid choice.

Indeed. Have around 50k atm but was thinking of keeping it , level up my first Italian Captain if they put Duca on sale before Ranked starts.

Who in his right mind would have an - at least - 14 point Commonwealth commander? I think still the first 4 point skill you should take is Concealment Expert.

Proposing second deck option 3-0-3 , if planes stay at tier 7 it would not be overpowered Air Superiority / First Srike with AP bombs.

Probably Perth for cruisers due to the smoke (maybe I will buy Duca d Aosta if it is on sale for its speed or give my DeGrasse a try) , Anshan for DD for its overall performance and Warspite for a BB which I enjoy for tankiness/guns combination. I was also thinking of rebuying the Ernst Gaede and putting my Z-46 cpt in it just for the season. Hydro could make the difference .
