Well, the ingame SH has certainly the smallest BB guns but the best maneuverability out of the t7 BB so it's kind of what I imagined a BC would look like in WoWS. A near-cruiser level of maneuverability and quite big guns. Historically you are probably right and I learned something ;)

It is possible. Also he could have used the mini map for more information (like your heading) or even used the m-key-hack to actually see you.

That's why I compared it to BB and cruisers, it sits between them. I think that (in it's current form) it will be strong indeed - especially with all those 15+-SP Tirpitz captains and in capable hands. The biggest advantage I see is Scharnhorst's speed. If she was available right now she would be a no brainer for Ranked Battles regarding BB. ps: I'm not amazed to find out that you played zero battles with the Montana, Scharnhorst will be nothing like her

I'd use premium consumables

Tirpitz (26 sec reload): 34% chance of fire Ishizuchi (25 sec reload): 32% chance of fire Scharnhorst (20 sec reload), 20% chance of fire Myoko (14 sec reload): 17% chance of fire Pretty much in line and not extraordinary. Regarding the AP dmg Myoko, 203mm (14 sec reload): 4700 max AP dmg > 24.800 max AP dmg/min (per gun) * 10 (nTurrets) = 248.000 max AP dmg / min Yorck, 210mm (12 sec reload): 5500 max AP dmg > 33000 max AP dmg/min (per gun) * 8 (nTurrets) = 264.000 max AP dmg / min Scharnhorst 280mm (20 sec reload): 8700 max AP dmg > 34800 max AP dmg/min (per gun) * 9 (nTurrets) = 313200 max AP dmg / min North Carolina 406mm (30 sec reload): 13100 max AP dmg > 39300 AP dmg/min (per gun) * 9 (nTurrets) = 353700 max AP dmg/ min Colorado 410mm (30 sec reload): 12200 max AP dmg > 36600 max AP dmg/min * 8 (nTurrets) = 292800 max AP dmg / min Conclusion: Dpm-wise not t8-BB material. Her small caliber will limit the situations where she can make use of that dpm. But her rof and turret rotation will give her the flexibility to choose her targets accordingly. All t8 BB are very balanced among each other so it doesn't seem the Tirpitz is more or less noob-friendly than the others. Facts - because why not? If the Ishizuchi had that range I'd have probably bought her.

If you can't see that the information you gave is not enough to evaluate the tactical situation in those scenarios it might be you who needs schooling. Also I'm not here to prove my intellectual worth, like you do all the time (to my dismay). Plus I don't consider you as much an authority as you do. Do you also consider to provide evidence?

According to OP's source: 20% fire chance. New Orleans can citadel the Iowa at short ranges so I guess Scharnhorst will be fine in that regard. I don't see the HE spam potential - yes, HE will do dmg and set fires but the AP potential is higher I assume, because the ROF is not quite cruiser-like.
