Range upgrade + the right choice of music will ease the pain.

With 90% of your BB you deal below average damage, so I suggest not using your gun's range to the fullest. USN BB above t7 don't need any range upgrades imo.

Getting placed on ocean as bottom tier in a stock Yorck (first match with this ship) And finishing on 2nd place in my team Think I threw the game when I switched to AP at an engagement range of 13km when we needed kills. Damn, that AP velocity IS as bad as I've been told Also left the Udaloi on 93 hp which didn't help. Anyway, couldn't have done much more with that stock range. Overall not a bad ship I think. btw I thought the MM would be more generous with stock ships. Guess I was wrong.

So an Atlanta with torpedo protection, usable torpedoes, (a bit) weaker long range AA and much stronger "short" range AA AND smoke. Worth losing my mind? I don't think so but the shop Atlanta now looks even worse. Maybe that's how they plan to buff the ATL

Fletcher has been nerfed to death? Played one game so far with that ship but that game was pretty solid. I think the Fletcher is a noticeable upgrade to the Benson. I guess that was some kind of humor.

It's possible but it will take "some" time (and skill)

Leading a target in WoWS (static crosshair): ticks = shell flight time to target [sec] * (actual speed of the target [knots] / 20) Of course this is easier said than done because the actual speed of the target is a variable and often players won't go full speed all of the time or they slow down in a turn / speed up after a turn. So the math is easy but the variable requires experience/luck.
