Tho, I must admit that I plan on platooning much with a friend who started playing CV (had already very successful games with Ryujo/Cleveland) That's known for more than a year now. No, the Atlanta is very precise. So precise in fact that I'm running the AA module instead of "aiming systems mod 1"...what you mean is that it's hard to lead targets with the Atlanta. That's a case of practise and picking your fights wisely. Get yourself into situations were this weakness is a non-factor and your strength (dpm) comes to full effect. Also it's nice if that victim didn't know you were there and is already engaged with another target. Don't give them your broadside, angle slightly and you'll be far superior below 10km. Picking "Vigilance" will help.

Flint is less situational, thus can perform more reliable. Altlanta still isn't that bad (yes, I bought one recently) I'd want to get the Flint if it was reasonable to grind it out but the Atlanta's radar isn't just there to look good, it's great for pushing DD out of a cap at the beginning of a match, giving your own DD the edge - or spotting targets behind your hard cover of choice. I admit: Too few games played BUT considering the unique character of this ship I think this was a successful first learning phase (had a fair share of tier 8/9 games). Low MBH is the result of fruitless but excessive spamming of ships behind islands in one of my last games I never used those torps until now - I might have if those were the Flint's torps. Bottom line: It's very easy to perform far above average in the Atlanta thus it's a great stat padding ship. Just got to get yourself in one or two situations were you can fully unload on a reasonably close target without much return fire. This can be done much more reliable/easily with Flint's smoke. Is it OP? I say no - it's in line with other strong cruisers of it's tier like the Myoko or Shchors. It's just that the way the Flint works is much more frustrating to the receiving end.
