Apparently the Atlanta got a MM buff when the new MM was introduced that fu.cks tier 5 - rarely do I see tier 8s or 9s nowadays. That might explain her rising performance curve.

Russian DD are all about the guns - and great guns they have. No (potential) stealth torping until you reach tier 8 - but you could argue that stealth torping is just not the russian thing and go for AFT (+ gun range) and demo expert (higher damage potential) to make even greater use of those guns (instead of picking camo expert) and just accept being spotted all the time (fast and quite nimble plus good gun range makes for an uninviting target to shoot at in general). Cap contesting is a bit trickier with a russian DD but you'll have to do it in some way at times and you need to plan your approach and possible escape routes carefully. Supporting stealthier DD is a better choice if you can afford to hang back a little. USN DD are allrounders who can make great use of their guns AND their torps (higher tiers have good stealth torping capabilities) but on most tiers they excel at neither. They have rapid firing guns but their shells take a long time to reach the target, thus their effective engagement range is lower (I'd say there's a 3-5km difference, generally) than that of russian DD who can easily outgun USN DD if they keep them at range (russian DD are mostly faster). On the flipside USN DD have high shell arcs that can be used to shoot over land masses. Also higher tier USN DD get the option of "defensive fire" so that they aren't as vulnerable to air strikes as the other nation's DD. Probably the easiest (most flexible) DD line for beginners. Regarding the higher tier captain skills I'd say pick demo expert and camo expert because AFT (more gun range) just isn't worth it (see above - "effective gun range").

Wrong...the division changes just mean that division members cannot be further apart than +-1 tier. The highest tier division member still determines the maximum tier spread the division might face through regular MM mechanics (+-2). That way my Scharnhorst once got carried into a t10 match by some derpy division leader's mistake WG doesn't consider the above a fail division.

Pretty much in line with the other tier 7 BB (if you really want to compare her to them since she takes up that slot). Including a t10 match (fail platoon) where I only managed 50k bc for some reason they liked shooting me and it was a [edited]sniping fest... I guess a really good player can average 85-100k damage...but that's speculation. Had one good day where my average was >90k over 5 games so it's possible to perform really well. Your arguments? Tirpitz isn't as dependent on the MM.

It's worth it - if it doesn't work for you it's certainly not the ship. It's not a Tirpitz, tho. Armor isn't as good (imo), the alpha strike potential up close isn't as good and (most importantly) the guns are different. You will probably have to re-learn to play this ship, like most of us ;)

Get yourself an Atlanta Also soviet/USN DD are fun, versatile (not as static as IJN DD) and deadly. Especially in a division!

Just avoid playing tier 5 ships if possible. Tier 5s: Suck it up - no more easy credits for you, get yourself a premium account Tier 7 MM seems super gut - I wonder why Below tier 5 it's easy mode and if you really never want to be at the bottom of the MM play tier 10.

You know, there are quite some players out there who consider the Myoko weak. My guess is that many will sell the CT after firing her guns I don't like pure torpedo boats and will surely sell her.

I don't think that many players here are that interested in tier 3 matches anyway
