I don't understand why anybody would want autoaim/autofire weapons to play more of a part in any game - JUST SAY NO! I'm playing mainly BBs at the moment, if a DD manages to get within a few kms of me then either I did badly or he did well, so far the only couple of times this has happened has been when I've been one of the last ships left and been hunted down.

Yeah I saw you'd added that after I'd mainly written my post (I delayed posting several times as was interrupted by work). The principle remains the same for me even though the number of people doing it is smaller. When they introduce clan games then absolutely stats will play a huge part in deciding who gets to team with who, but until then it's a casual random team game and as such it seems a bit sad to me that some will even bother to look at another players stats let alone make in-game decisions based on them. -
Possible improvements? Yes, No? Love them, hate them?

I also think it doesn't belong in an arcade game, it would fit in a simulator type game but wows is very far removed from that. If you wanted to make a 'realism' mode you'd pretty much have to rip it up and start again, this game can't be tweaked to be realistic. -

Of course there's always going to be an idiot element that brings their toxicity to chat, I think the point is to stop it getting out of hand rather than make it better. I doubt most players go to the trouble of trawling through all the friendly and enemy stats at the start of a game, I know some do but I think they're a very small minority of the playerbase. Give people a tool that rates players and teams by some aribtrary metric and puts a 'win chance' right there in front of them in-game, then more people will have that info and many will take it as gospel, that would only ramp up the toxic chat and also people quiitting at the start of a game and that's why it needs to be prevented. -

Wargaming titles (most famously WOT obviously) are known for attracting some of the worst dregs of the gaming world, XVM just sounds an ideal tool to enable the trash element to mouth off and thus promote toxicity. Also as someone mentioned, sorry can't remember who as I've only skimmed the thread, it's likely to further encourage selfish play rather than decent teamplay, this game really doesn't need anything to further push people down that route. As such it's probably for the best for the game if XVM doesn't exist, as WG aren't very good at disabling external mods then disabling access to stats is probably the way to go. -

Gotta provide a quality game if you want people to sub for it. With it's terrible balance, lack of polish and severe lack of content, wows is most definitely in the free to play class. -
That doesn't change much post rank 10! Apart from ocean the objectives are relatively tight so you tend not to find many BBs anywhere near them, another reason why damaging and killing BBs is a low priority for winning these matches.

It's about time the meta moved towards the class that will actually PTFO instead of the class generally seen sniping from the edges of the map.

it's great that they finally recognised capping as being worthy of reward in a cap domination game. My point is that I can see why they choose to rank the winning team rather than individuals, it differentiates ranked battles from random battles by shifting the emphasis from XP to wins.

The reason wg don't act on community feedback is because they aren't interested in it. The only result of this scheme would be to take the heat off ectar and co, the forum would transfer it's whining from the community managers to the community council. -
That might be OK if they implement spotting xp, otherwise dd players don't get rewarded/ranked for tactical play that can very well turn a match.

I'd only skimmed his post as it was obvious from the start it was going to be a load of waaaaaaaaaah. Seems some are taking an obviously casual game far too seriously, seems a bit dumb. If you want to judge yourself against others its probably best to go play a proper competitive game, that way other people will probably recognise your acheivements also. -
I think I started at rank 17 (apparently I played 10 ranked games last season), got to rank 10 at the end of the evening with 69% win rate after 22 games, all in amazing little minekase - I FREAKIN LOVE THAT SHIP!

Played some last night, got to rank 10 with minekase, was a lot of fun. Am I right in thinking it's tier 7/8 for rank 10 and above? It was freaking awesome playing in my favourite ship again last night, I doubt Fubuki will keep me entertained as well.

I can't believe people are treating this as a proper competitive mode and taking it so seriously. Ban people for playing badly? Thats one of the funniest things I've read on this forum! WG are scared to ban people for deliberatly team killing, you think they're going to risk losing players just for being bad? You'll have to wait for team battles/clan wars for an actual competitive mode, then you can kick people off your team if they don't make the grade. Until that is implemented you're playing a pub team game, ranked is just an alternative game mode to give a different feel, wows is a casual game, treating it seriously will only lead to frustration. I jumped into ranked last night and played a few hours, it's nice to see generally more focus on objective play (than random battle mode) but I'd never expect fully coordinated teamplay and that is the only way it can really ever be skill based.
