  1. I'd rather they use XP earned pre-win-bonus. That said I agree with everyone else who pointed out that getting 1000+ on a loss is hardly impossible on tier 9-10. Any other metric will probably suffer just as much, or even be more dependent on which ship you use. Ribbons? Just play Minotaur or smolensk, get 1000 shell hits... etc

I want the 100% guided, 100% hitrate, one-shot-kills-squadon kind yes, just in case that was unclear in any way. What we name it is irrelevant!

I'm good with just knowing how it works. I'd wager that even those who enjoys the "realistic" approach still doesn't want a simulator, and the casuals sure doesn't care :) Mostly I wanted to post the screenshots @Excavatus @CptMinia I'm good if you shower me with coal, steel and researchpoints...

I had in my mind that skip bombing used timed fuzes and somehow I assumed it'd be here also. My bad!

The bouncy-bouncy-thingy CV seems interesting. Yet can the bouncy-bouncy-thingies detonate on impact also? I had that impression before I sunk this n00b earlier today. My life is fulfilled now!

In some cases yes, it's a matter of learning the game. I mean - there's always some BB player that whines that shimakaze is OP. Understandably this person feels it's frustrating to play against invisible DDs. Same for Thunderers at 22km and Smolensks in smoke..etc. It's also learning when playing against CVs: Don't flank Don't go alone Don't set up crossfire. Don't hide behind mountains. Don't try pushing up against enemies and expect the first drop to always come through! As a minimum.

Well we agree then, AA does reduce DPM. You call it massive, I call it marginal. I can win a match by being AFK. Happens when I run to the toilet when I have to puke from CVs People don't like mechanics that gives them the feeling they can not do anything against it. It doesn't feel great when CV is your cause of death (either by massive damage or persistent spotting) and you shoot down 20 planes! yay! well you're still dead and CV can still fight. WoWs somehow manages to keep some fairness between the 3 classes, but not the 4th. I did and I still think so. Feel free to disagree. it's in fact the only two ways to mitigate damage from CVs, of which the defending player can only control one. Only if the stacking is incredibly massive. (which leads to losses and boring gameplay, but hey, indeed it is mitigation) effective DPM goes up, not raw. Call it whatever you like. It is not comparable to shooting with various amounts of turrets. If AA truly disrupts the early strikes but less so the later in the game, this is not a thing the attacking player can control in the same manner as a ship can make the choise to fire only front or all turrets. This change is caused by a somewhat predictable change in the game as a factor of time. Sure it can be more or less frequent, as however WG decides, yet it happens. I would also prefer HE BBs to be turned into "mostly" AP BBs. That said, AP shells do knock out AA too occationally.

Good and we both know its not going to happen. WG said that understanding that radar and sonar doesnt go through (edit:) mountains is too hard to grasp for the average player. Do you think manual AA is a possibility?

which we can call effective DPM, sure. I agree, it has some effect, yet either not enough (El2) or simply too much (mr 40% guy noobing into flak). When end result still being mostly helpess against a good CV player. One think I think everyone here agrees on is that first strike is designed to go through. Thus AA can only stop the "surplus" damage at best. AA is supposed to be the "main damage mitigation" against planes. As mentioned before by several others, DPM will go UP because AA tends to get destroyed. Effectively an "ablative armor".

They are a significan contributor to my deaths, despite usually being just 1 of them. The persistent spotting is worse than the direct damage. But I'm generous with reports anyways. So for surface ships you simply calculate how fast the shells can come out the barrels? No other consideration for it's effectiveness? Sure, it has a marginal effect Maybe we can also implement ablative armor for all ships in this case? Yamato hits you and you lose 5mm of your armor...

I mean chat in port, and it's been up and down for years. * for some time it took ~30 to 60 seconds before chat and clanchat appears, it's still slow * Often the few remaining friends that play doesn't show as online. Pinging eachother with chat sometimes help, but not always * clanchat tends to just delete everything said recently occationally * sometimes when i leave the game up and running in port, it appears to "disconnect" from chat. The moment i type something into any chat, all chat interfaces disappear for some time, as in my first point. Happened on 3 different machines and in 2 different countries. I never used any mods for wows. My rl friend experience the same (or variants thereof). I doubt strongly they use mods.

And so is armor if we want to talk about that. A piece of steel that I can nicely angle against incoming shells.

You mean 10/11th chance, since I have 10 teammates and 1 CV (and me). But moments later it will be 9/10th...

To make a quick approximation, I'll be dead fast or marginally slower I'm sure @El2aZeR can back me up on this one! But after all since the CV can go everywhere from any angle, a little bit of marginal reduction is too much.

In before @Pikkozoikum comes rambling how having to fly back with a new strike is a massive reduction in DPS... No it's not worse than another posted that other ships can't fire all the time either... But the "deplaning" of the CV only comes late game. When there are few ships and little AA left anyways.

I liked this, it gave immediate effects from your defence. Now the effect is only at the end of the game (mostly)

And I suppose one doesn't get any xp for actually blocking a cap? Meaning two DDs (or anyone else, but its usually DDs that block..) can sit and actually block a cap for eachother, that could be essential for a win, but 0 spot and 0 damage = no reward? But I'm sure a CV will drop by and bomb them on the way!

Give it to me, I'll sail happily into my death from shells and torpedoes while making the planes burn like matches
  24. After seeing Puerto Rico there and the insane grind I haven't bothered checking it again. edit: I have no idea of the ships there are good or not either. WG can put their greed where the sun doesn't shine
  25. Best post in 2021. It's a real pity because there was no cheap tricks like FOMO, massive gambling and other exploits in the start. I'd say that WoWs is one of the more enjoyable games I've played since the 80s, but the business model looks like cheap arse mobile games that only draws you in and floods you with a massive amount of tiny rewards, billion missions that I never check anymore and insanly priced. If i see games with this business model before I try them, I just skip them. Because in these cases it's blatantly obvious that the game is not the focus, but to make money. I'm not against compaines making good money, but it should be because their product is amazing, not because the game just feeds on our reptile brain weaknesses. edit: I am however amazed at those of you who buys pixelships and tons of lootboxes. First they are overprised and second, WG does it because it actually works, and as long as it works, there is no reason for them to stop.
