He was essentially next to the cap, all game, against superiour force. Me and the newbie guy died (him first trying to counter push, and me just because I was an easier target than mr good player) I believe he was playing DM. Again we see how definitions on camping differs...

The game was incredibly much friendlier when it was released and the first years. I can imagine a few reasons why. Part of this that being toxic is generally not punished enough. Back when games had players making the servers, you found one that had decent admins and stuck to it. Misbehavour would quickly result in a permanent ban. This doesn't work here. Most people dont care I suppose. I am also annoyed when people go afk, but it's a difference to go afk for fun and go afk because crap happened. in the end, everyone will be afk sometimes.

I'd say it depends, camping so you can extend firepower over the cap as BB plus draw fire helps a lot. Especially in Missouri for some reason... Iirc he was stuck all game being banged by half the enemy team. I'd call it camping (although not negatively ment) and I'm sure many would also (but with a negative connotation) :D However it seems to me that mr @Beastofwar considers these good tactical choices to be destructive for the game. Apparently CVS are great to dislodge such players. The fact that being dynamic drives you back away from the cap areas gives a more boring and long-distance game. Yay for CVs.

I would define it as such. Camping simply means sticking in the same area without moving much. Camping at chokepoints or near the frontline is useful. Camping in non essential areas or at 20km away is not so useful... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camping_(video_games) I'm sure everyone has their idea what camping means though, but my experience is that if you are not moving, you'll be called a camper.
-
I'm good with that. I usually do the reporting of CVs during the countdown before the match starts.
-
Miracle eh? One could even directly strike it!
-
I strongly suggest we make everything realistic. Then CVs have to fly more than 20 minutes before making their strike. oh.. battles are over in 20 minutes by the way!
-
I used those, I even enjoyed it. Not sure I was particularly good, but it was very interesting to see if I could deplane the other CV. Some of us have public stats so it's there..
-
The main issue is that people who retreat head towards the other flank, so THEY end up being flanked by the pushers :P retreat should either go straight away or towards the same map border flank if possible. now if a CEEEVEEEE is around, both camping alone and retreating alone is a quick death also.
-
It can be real good, but not in a 5 vs 1 situation in (i think) he had a DM. It also doesn't stop a push in any way.

This is where yours truly would pop by with a 7km AA bubble in a ship that was boosted as a teamplay AA ship. A role which now is largely non existant.

Are WG changing the direction of your torps? ? ?

I was once torped by an invisible torpedo that went through an island and hit me just as 2 other "normal" torpedoes that missed the island passed on my side. Thats way way more interesting than some slightly off course torpedoes -
The irony of the sentence was amazing indeed. Another point was that camping can be a not just valid, but required tactic to win. Randomly tagging @Beastofwar

Now if my memory serves me right, all 3 of us was on the weak flank, and the unicum guy camped like a pro, made them suffer for every meter they moved up and every hitpoint he lost, while keeping himself alive to prevent a push. We won and he did amazingly well defending himself and his side - just by camping...
-
I suppose its like one game i had where a near 40% wr player started yelling at a above 60% wr player after a short discussion of gameplay. "You unicum players just camp and farm damage and dont play to win!!" Okay....
-
Lets put it this way - after 30 35 years of computer gaming (dang I'm getting old), I have always "done the right thing" in online games. The rework ruined this streak. And given how WG doesn't care about rework, reporting system. Letting afk'ers with 10 000 afk games stay.. I don't really care either.

There we go

Somehow I can imagine Europizza has that face every time he plays WoWs and a CV keeps pestering him...

Not all of us are misguided and vote for a carrot

How many DD players still shoot HE at this DD line midsection ?
Nibenay78 replied to Beastofwar's topic in General Discussion
So when you speak someone knowledgeable - you call them elitist because they disagree with you? a pity i'm not purple, i wanted to be elitist. Sniff. -
Which is a rather essential part, again I didn't say it's an optimal situation. Clearly the BB IS at an disadvantage, one which is not 100% win for the DD.
-
in theory yes, but many screw it up badly. To some extend you can often force an encounter in a BB due to the assumption by the DD that you will flee, or that you hang around a cap (with islands) he needs to get. Again it's hardly an optimal situation - but it shouldn't be either. I find them fun to see if I can outsmart the DD and become a better player. edit: best and most fun experience: ending up being left around in HotSpot map with Montana vs 2 shimakazes and 1 other dd (some torpedoboat, possibly a 3rd shima, I don't remember). Engaged them one by one as they popped out behind islands there. They did not expect me to go in. All freaked out and prematurely popped torpedoes. Killed all 3 and lived. Did only approx 60k damage all game and was MASSIVELY on top by xp.
-
Same here. 2 tubes are ready, but then one gets hit and its reset.
-
Most don't have time to break and and disappear in smoke in 7.5 seconds, even IF they just use a second of reaction time. It works wonders in my experience, and I'd like to think I have a bit in just this scenario. Is the BB on the strong side here? not really, but it certainly can get kills and live. A blind fire salvo at point blank (5-6km) against a massively damaged DD who is continuously firing at you isn't hard to score either...
-
DD pops up, you do a 7.5 second switch to HE and it ceases to exist in any form or shape. Then you go bown on and eat 1-2 torps.
