Why should they? Clearly its one way that works to earn well, turning a nice game into some bling bling bullcrap mobile game. We need more HE spam and auto repair, auto aim and skill-less gameplay... -

Gambling is for people who doesnt understand math, in general. It also feeds the reptile brain with excitement and FOMO in this case. Edit: if their money came from pure sales or subscriptions, I would hazard a guess that this game would have taken a different direction... -

Didn't one of the former employees explain a bit how the work environment is there? I'm sure there is a massive GAP (They need a rework, harr harr) between the Forumites/WG/devs/any-non-management staff and management. As mentioned above, RU work culture where boss is boss and being a large company, I'm fairly sure that a VERY TRIVIAL (if any) amount of our wishes and complaints reaches anyone that has power to make useful choises and decisions. All three of these probably makes an iron curtain (god I'm funny today) between us and management :D -

I tend to answer the same on every available free text field. 1) Do you enjoy the game answer: yes it's nice, but the aircraft carrier make it very unenjoyable 2) Why would you not recommend this game to others? answer: aircraft carriers are gamebreaking and unfun. 3) What did you think about last clanbattles answer (if no CV was included): amazing since aircraft carriers where not included. answer (if CV was included): horrible since aircraft carriers were included 4) do you like the new destroyer line from such-and-such nation? answer: yes, they are not aircraft carriers! and so on and so forth...

Indeed, sadly there ARE games that manage to evolve into better and more complete games, yet becoming a bigger and bigger success by sales. I really wish WoWs was a subcription game, not F2P gimmick one-time-sale-hyped-FOMO-weirdo ships.

I'll have to watch the whole thing (if i can be bothered). But it's really hard to interpret that response as anything else.... or his communication skills are INSANELY bad.

CVs have been "balanced" up and down, yet they are less and less popular. Maybe it's because the gameplay is generally not attractive to most. Maybe THAT is the issue? But that's not relevant for WG anymore, they will "balance" them now mostly on popularity. the word "only" is a trivial detail you keep nagging about.

Dunno, wonder where the term AA cruiser comes from. Oh wait wait, that is an old term, not useful anymore. Of which the mentioned spesific performance is relevant, while being powercrept in all other parameters, it also lost the effect of possibly having defAA :D At least speccing for it had some effect I suppose.

Context: WG shoves some entity (CVs) into the game then "balances" it by various parameters in which popularity may or may not be relevant. Doesnt mean its a good addition regardless of their efforts. Anyways, do you really believe popularity is not relevant? Sure maybe its not the whole equation, but you can be sure WG would make changes if CVs fall below a certain treshold thing will happen. And that means not a new rework with hopefully better gameplay, but simply making CVs more "comfortable" to play. (In case this is unclear in any way for you, "comfortable" here means easier to play or stronger)

Wait wait, since AA is flattened, Zao should be way more fun against CVs than before! Right @Pikkozoikum? or wait, just play smolensk. More fire, less citadels and smoke to somewhst save your sorry behind from CV-abnormal-cell-growth and overmatch... or live by only overpens.

From our long thread, this isnt the top priority for several CV players. Which quickly becomes NO when either is near enemy ships anyway :D so its a conditional YES

I am trying to point out to you that even if a certain element is part of naval warfare exists, doesn't mean that it'll be a great addition to a game. Like I and others have pointed out, carriers are effectively ships with weapons that are guided 99% of the distance to the target. It's not a huge leap to include anti ship missiles, and lets take it one step further, ballistic nukes. After all either can be mounted on warships, yet there is no reason to believe they will be fun & engaging™ if included into WoWs. Also CVs "enjoys" several automatic features. Automatic launch of COP, Automatic DCP and even automated enemy fire (AA). in most of my gaming experience, most automation on such a trivial level does NOT add to the game in any way. So back to ballistic missiles - I can design you a ballistic missile sub where all one has to do is click LMB and kill a player on the other side of the map. It can even be "balanced" by average damage, kills, deaths etc. None of these elements will make it a good addition to the game in my opinion. On the other hand, i'm sure of the tens of thousand of players that has played WoWs, probably some statistical anomalies would enjoy this gameplay.... Yes and it does not say why. Maybe it's because they are weak. Or maybe because they are boring, or just that people who play wows generally prefer gunboats... who knows...
