Should I play Ranked while roaring drunk?

Seems Polish people are best for just surviving.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_alcohol_content#Highest_levels

When we will get more maps and operations?

There is a bit irony in how the intruduction of submarines isn't just sucking the fun out of the battle itself, but excessively delay other (more interesting) features such as map variations. How many tier 9-10 maps are there currently in rotation? 10?

Coal: Which ship should I get?

what do people learn in coop except the most basic of shooting? and it's not exactly magic to land shells "on" target. No tactics, no anticipation of what the enemy might or might not do. How opponents react to certain events, and so on and so forth.

Changes to CV spotting in testing

Should I play Ranked while roaring drunk?

    No - it isn't a good idea
  7. @BLUB__BLUB in Nevsky, myself in Småland. I spotted him (i hope), he died and I tagged along to victory doing nothing pretty much.

Coal: Which ship should I get?

Soon there will be threads how either ships are completely underpowered and how advice is not wanted or appreciated. Salem is quite useful, but I don't have Napoli so can't really compare. edit: I have both DM and Salem and i much prefer DM due to longer radar

    Izumo Iowa Comparison

Feedback: Iowa looks nice and sleek. Izumo looks like it's designed by someone on acid. edit: and the dumbass backward placed turrets freaks me out when trying to rotate it nicely..

It could of course be a bug. Personally I have purposely run past ships with about 10 meters to spare ingame (meaning I can't say if we are going to touch/ram or not) to exactly avoid torpedoes arming. I can think if doing this several times. Of course infrequently as one is rarely THAT close to other ships, as you point out below. If you enjoy using it as a insult (which you seem to), there is no reason to be polite to you also. People do many things that are good or not good for them. Personally I prefer 5 hours of gaming rather than 5 hours of TV as I said, and I'm sure there are more of the binge watchers. Why are you so agressive about it? No we would really like to see how how your planes instantly dies. I'm sure people could give you constructive feedback and/or explain it nicely to you, but your aggressive stance already shows you're not interested to learn/understand. You dont' have to be close, but also remember that torpedoes launched from far away, gives the enemy lots of time to avoid - by purpose or accidental maneouvering. Good choice. Many do. Are you calling them degoratory terms too? Examples are good. You had them above but you ignore them. It is pretty well in the top, possibly marginally surpassed with DM with defAA going? I'm sure someone can correct me on this, but the DPS (or guns as you call them) is still really really nice. Base stats from wiki. As far as I can see DM has less base damage. Feel free to tell me how incredibly many are better in DPS. It's not many. My own minotaur spec Well clearly some players (not me) can own almost anything with these "slow and useless" planes. Personally I think I have to be better then, or just admit CVs are not my thing, since obviously someone else can do it. Balance is very important. We can add a lot of historical accuracy but it might be a game noone wants to play. Battleships will fire for 20 minutes scoring no hits. Carriers will have to fly for an hour to reach their target. Etc Should CVs be ideal against all shiptypes? Certainly other ships are not ideal against certain other ships. I would say so yes. Different paramenters, but ignoring them leaves you with 0 hitpoints and removed from the game. Ignoring them with CV leaves you with a dead squadron and a chance to do something else.
  13. Ægir I just had more expectations to the ship (and myself). Probably 19 battles is not even close to make statistical significance. But I'm left with the feeling my efforts were not important, which winrate shows. And Druid is a tad boring, even if I like Friesland somewhat, Druid would be more enjoyable if it had at least a 3 torp tube, or amazing AA...

    Teammates don't ignore Destroyers

How does anyone play with those crosshairs...
  16. This was me when I got my first DD (Gearing). I knew my job was to get cap, chase shimaze and spot. So I did, and I thought I did really well. After like 100-200 games I checked the numbers and they didn't say I did well. In fact <50% means I'm more of a liability than a help, so I figured maybe I was doing something wrong. My best experience was getting caught in an ingame discussion on a dying flank. A 65% player was camping his hardest next to an island and actually stalling their push just by living and shooting, while a 45% player charged in to "counter" the push. He died fast, leaving me and the unicum guy to wither away even faster. 45% player to the 65% player: YOU PEOPLE ONLY PLAY TO CAMP! NOT TO WIN! so i said: Yeah thats because he got 65% and you have 45% WIN RATE. He doesn't play to win.

    Intentionally ruining games

But what good does that do? Lets go check up "YabbaCoe" and it's full of negative reviews how he TKs, purposely drives to the map edge or goes afk, yolosuicides in CV. How does this make the game better for me when YabbaCoe suddenly appears on my team...? And it might as well be fake only to shame him. True or false as the complaints may be, WG has the power to deliver sanctions on destructive players in a more fair manner. I have said unnice things in PMs, not out of malice, but insane frustration and having unfun games. I get punished for it (and I have no problem with this as I clearly overstepped). But there is a certain itch when players GRIEF their teams for 5000+ matches (for years) and is clearly allowed to continue. There is clearly a distinction between a really poor player (could be a kid or someone who for any reason is really objectively bad at the game) and a person who does things for destructive purposes (see below). Can I call him 5FKU<playername>5 at least? Yes, a cheap one I know. I like sarcasm But I have a point with this. WG has to take the high ground and be the example to follow here. When certain employees make certain controversial statements over the years, the internal attitude shines through. Lets say I meet some dude named N00benay in Shimakaze several times by chance over a month. First time he drives near the border and goes afk. Afks happen but usually they dont purposely drive into the map border asap, so I took notice of this player. Second time he just runs in circles and randomly torps (teammates) and the third time he goes "screw you guys, my last team sucked so I'm going to sit in A1", which he proceeds to do. This is an incident I experienced some years ago. All times I checked his stats and they were abysmal but he has thousands of games, even (iirc) 2000+ games just in shima. I can only assume this guy will be reported a multitude of times, especially ingame. This leads me to assume that your "automatic" system does nothing since such a player clearly deserves a permaban. Secondly and maybe a bigger issue (which we discussed before): If I'm first going to get annoyed over this player and spend my time reporting him, I expect some sort of feedback of the type "We have reviewed the player and have given him sanctions/see no reason to impose any sanctions". The regular "Thank you for the ticket..blabla" leaves me NO faith that sanctions will be imposed on him, seeing his stats combined with behaviour and amount of games he has clearly sucked around in. I checked this player occationally and eventually after at least 2 years after my encounter with him, his name is gone, and I don't know if he just deleted his account or got permabanned. Still he was playing actively every time I checked in (and with 'afk' style stats). I can PM you the name if you wish. I have discussed this exact issue of non-feedback with another moderator in this forum just in the summer, and he immediately went "oh him, i remember him"... tldr: 1) The non-response on ticket and no feedback regarding that sanctions has been imposed leaves me no wish to even bother creating a report. 2) Seeing clearly griefers which 5-10 000 games makes me believe the automatic system does not lead anywhere. I expected top reported players to AT LEAST be checked quickly manually. Leaving me to just spam reports on CVs and subs now for fun. 3) In real life even our local news point out stuff like "There was a speed control at street such-and-such. 20 Drives where caught of which 3 lost their license". At least people can see that sanctions are happening...

    General CV related discussions.

Yes, FLAK does massive and instant damage - and it doesn't spawn close to a ship like others say. GUNS (or constant DPS) slowly eats your your planes, so you can decide if you will be able to make the run or not.... See picture in @Panocek post above. The only big difference is that planes CAN go as close as they want but DDs usually don't. So you can drop earlier, you can in both cases for planes and DD torps see arming distance yourself. The difference is that DDs can't go 200 knots and appear next to enemy ships at will... otherwise I'm sure Shimakaze would be pretty nice to play. Did I say bragging? I asked if you think doing anything sort of activity does not increase the likelihood of being better at said activity? Personally I don't see why people watch regular TV for hours. But I'm sure they are better at it than me your "guns" dont do massive damage in once - they slowly eat one and one plane at a time. No single ship can stop a squadron from making minimum 1 run with "guns" alone. Again, good CV players can attack any ship at will. Even medicore CV players like me can strike lone minotaurs in Tier 8 CV. and planes can attack from any angle at short moment notice, while going faster than torpedoes until they can be dropped AT arming distance... No doubt it would be fair that CV torpedoes which are in the water for 1-2km should go as fast as torpedoes that are launched 10km away. I think my Black needs a bit torpedo speed buff... Again a mediocre CV player like me can do it, although it's clearly not always the optimal weapon for scoring hits on them. But wait CVs have to be amazing against ALL ships right? CVs have to think about much? like when to launch their COP? or when to press their 2 minute lasting repairparty? or really anything else than avoiding FLAK?

    About the aiming bug.

What when you fire at a cruiser that is ~10km away in BB, aiming about middle between waterline and deck, yet all shells go into the water? Then you aim bottom part of the superstructure and it happens again? I really have to make some screenshots of this, it's insanely annoying when it happens.
  20. Usually pretty easy when you watch them play for more than 20 seconds.

    Are submarines still in game

I read this page from WG saying something like We don't balance based on ship popularity. So clearly any buffs coming now must be because they "underperform"...
  22. Nibenay78

    General CV related discussions.

Yes they say that you are winning more and doing more damage in Indomitable than you do in Yamato. clearly Yamato need a buff more! Indeed, the number say you perform well under average, and average isn't exactly a high standard in this game (it's pretty..average!) Strange that people who spent time on something "tend" to be better at it than others. Maybe you find that concept unfair? Maybe we should change the game so that a person that plays 1 hour every year is doing as well as the person playing 5 hours every day? Meaning skill becomes irrelevant? All I've seen so far is: Others can kill DDs with carriers but YOU can't - carriers are the problem Others can deal massive damage with carriers, but YOU can't - carriers are the problem etc...

    Intentionally ruining games

So shaming is good in other sites but it's barely allowed to mention names here? Good thing the automatic system works so well then. Now in my naivety I kinda would expect that people who get a million reports per week would get inspected and eventually banned. I mean the automatic system has a purpose...right? Right?!
