Schlieffen Shimakaze is not OP, its MB is very underwhelming
  2. RU heavy cruiser, RN BB and US DD tier X (after a quick google). Might indeed be worth a wait since I like (fast) heavy cruisers and general DDs. As for BBs I already have Montana...
  3. Any reason to not wait a bit before wasting it? Is there anything vaguely known in the pipeline?
  4. Takes about 1 minute of BB engagement to get a certain Lutjens activation in Rupprecht edit: used to have him on Z-52 so the poor thingy can heal sometimes...

    DD BUG

My DDs are constructed of torpdoes that are ducttaped together. When they are destroyed they release all into individual torpedoes that go everywhere. All enemies accuse me of cheat when there's 250x 20km torpedoes going everywhere. Edit: When I think about it, it explains why my poor Shimakaze tends to detonate.. Maybe there is a correlation here!

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance

Had a lot of double CVs at tier 8 last days. It's mindnumbingly annoying and I wish I could glue Halland onto the rear deck of Zieten while grinding it. Or maybe having a Minotaur in tow for AA and smoke...
  8. I suppose it would be too hard to make a statement on their own forum... you know, for us elderly that doesn't hang on reddit like the cool kids :-o

Noone plays it is an acceptable workaround and saves WG resources. You have to be more positive! Like my sparkling self is!

You mean like with Hosho? It seems to be still there. If noone played it, it is removed for all intents and purposes! It would be amazing

My 6th match today and the first without CV for me. The reaction was quite funny as the game started. I left the first character so you can see its not all the same 2 guys speaking.

    Santa Mega containers no steel?

It works well when you hover at 13km firing AP. It doesn't work well if you stay at 20km firing HE.

    Santa Mega containers no steel?

People have different priorities I suppose. 800$ in "regular" clothes or lootboxes would be out of the question for me, and I could certainly pay that if I wanted.
  14. In other words, for all practical purposes, CV?

LETS TALK SUBS AND TIER 10

I want ballistic missile ships ingame. Who cares if they fit or not. I'm sure I can balance them to be statistically "fair". The subs have been testen how long now? 1 year? Why would that make them more defenceless than a DD against a radar/hydro cruiser? Where is the counterplay? I gave a ton of serious reasons why I think CVs are bad for the game in their current form when @Excavatus wanted us to make "serious feedback" when the CV thread got out of hand. Many other did at the same time and it has been popping in various suggestions all over for 2 years. Telling WG we dont want this is a perfectly valid opinion and just because WG "thinks" so, I see no reason to stop. One of their last blogposts admitted that they try mechanics out, because sometimes people actually do like them, even when initially against them. I have no problem to see this can happen, but I have played subs now. I have played even more against subs. I don't think either is fun and engaging and will keep saying that. I am most willing to give out serious reasons why I think so, but these reasons have been stated over and over by others already. Yes leaving is an option, especially should every game be infested with 1-2 CVs and 2 Subs. Should be easy to fix, its just not a priority when we can do our testing in production environment. No we won't May or may not be, but it works differently and has less winrate ceiling, this less maximum impact on the game. I have no problem to see RTS isn't for everyone like I said before. But I also don't understand why ALL classes must appeal to everyone. Usually they do not, and playing "World of Warships In The Sky" is much more boring for me. Again an opinon many here seem to share. Clearly both subjective opinions, but yet rather important for WG. Then I hope you agree that "what we see" is usually heavily biased? I feel they are in 90% of the games, because they farking annoy me just by their presense. But I can also admit that this is probably not the case at all. If the statistical population is almost like before, thats probably the truth and not my 90% imagination. I have personally oneshotted near full health DM in my pathetically few CV battles. Just because he didn't pay attention. And that is how the game should be. Just as a Shimakaze is heavily disadvantages if he gets 1 on 1 with a DM or mino. Or a BB left alone with a Shimakaze. Some ships are really underdogs in extreme to other ships and this happens all the time. If a CV has a FEW ships that are "very had to get", I don't think that really is unfair. Right now a medicore CV player like me can even piss on a AA ship usually. The main reason to not strike them is usually that there are easier target. A choice that most other ships dont get when they are stuck on a flank. One of the main reasons for pouring resources into a CV rework and farking up the gameplay with continous rebalancing for 2 years was just this - make people like @El2aZeR be less dominating while letting newbies have a tad more impact. You could say thats a pretty good fail by WG. Since it's about subs. I've just gotted the Gouden Leeuw and was sitting behind an island in cap. The sub comes around the corner, nukes me for 90% of my health. Kills the other sub and sails off. Visible all the time. I have 0 ways to even damage him in this ship. Fun and engaging.

Why are there no in-game surveys lately?!

Since they dont even ask WHY my experience is shaite. I always answer it's shaite. Clearly that means I want more CV and Subs...

LETS TALK SUBS AND TIER 10

Most homing and automated features tend to degenerate the gameplay in my opinion. Sure it's nice if we ignore the tedious and boring parts of warfare, but actually aiming, guessing and firing the torpedoes should not be counted as such. I mean... Subs even have the stupid ping mechanic added to make us feel we are "doing something useful" while waiting for torpedo reloads. Again, if WG decideds to add some dumbass mechanic doesn't mean we have to suffer it or even "give ideas" how said mechanic can be less painful for us.. Ref: million comments from me about ballistic missiles. Insanely stupid to now allow this by WG. Lets instead invade the main battle type - randoms! I was tier 7 BB and my friend was tier 7DD. My friend is a long time gamer, but pretty casual about WoWs gameplay. Even he was amazed how badly he got nuked by @El2aZeR Being on a 5 vs 3 flank (which I didn't mind, I enjoy trying to hold back or at least sell myself dearly) but then having 2 tier 8 CVs "assisting" in an already bad situation gave me no will to really care. And I usually always play my best even in a dying situation. I don't know what our CVs were doing and it was pretty irrelevant for my situation. They can't defend me from the enemy CV and since they are quite poorly skilled, they would no doubt need a lot of time to take out even one enemy on my flank. Mr. El2 is a pretty decent player in any ship, but if we met in BB vs BB (or any other class) at least I could make him hurt back, blow off his turrets, flee, go invisible or eventually just go for a ram. If he is in a CV I can do shaite and nothing. AA DPS is designed to slowly eat planes but not be a huge problem. Flak is barely an issue for a mediocre player like myself and even IF El2azer would by accident touch a cloud or two, its fairly irrelevant for my survivability. Maybe I'd live another 30 seconds while he got the next squad. Didn't we just discuss the maximum capabilities/impact that good carries have on the game? It's perfectly reasonable to look at the extreme end in this case. Part of the rework was after all to "lessen the skillgap". That your perception of playing CV has changed doesn't mean the actual responsibility has changed. For me it feels less stressy to not juggle a lot of squads around, but the responsibility knowing that a CV has to win the damage race and thats it, doesn't reduce the responsibility feeling. I suppose it's the chipping part instead of big alfa strikes that promotes that perception That said my subjective feeling was that RTS style was more appropriate for a carrier and it certainly gave me more enjoyment when I mastered a strike. I don't take your word for it..etc. They are more annoying when they appear though. Iirc the latest numbers show rework CV are about as low as RTS? or at least pretty close. Someone who cares can probably find it out for us. It's pretty low. If only it was even less. In RTS you could play anything with DefAA and have a reasonable good chance to ruin a strike. Minotaur in smoke picked off planes up to 8.6km away at quite a nice rate and every plane that fell made the airstrikes easer to dodge. I even specced Gearing with 7.2km AA and DefAA to help out nearby ships. Great fun and "teamplay". Now it's pretty easy to strike anyone, even a mediocre CV player like me can smack a Minotaur in tier 8 CV. And clumping together 3+ ships to defend if POSSIBLY the carrier drops by, is pretty pathetic gameplay, especially as the AA ranges are reduced massively. Strike cycle times were a LOT longer back then also. Just the feeling that one COULD deplane a CV was nice.. and it did happen from time to time.

LETS TALK SUBS AND TIER 10

But nevertheless were the main targets at a lot of airstrikes. Of course they are not "immune" but for all intents and purposes they are rarely bothered by their own class (or anyone else) for the first 80% of the match. DDs interact usually heavily with other DDs, especially the first 5 minutes, regardless of spot range. Also enhanced by radars and hydro by other ships that cause DDs to engage DDs. This is completely opposite for CVs. Thats a statement for All ship - if the CV wants you dead, you can't really avoid it. Thank you for that one. Maybe CV should try "teamplay" with the rest then. Staying behind an island is not helping any ship "defend" against air attacks, usually it makes it worse as AA barely does anything on the entry. You're free to have your opinion that they are better. I think they are just more "accessible" while degenerating the experience for everyone ELSE a lot more. If all my CVs were deleted and removed this moment, i would find the game more enjoyable. Even so of they were reverted back to when AA (and especially DefAA) had a purpose. The fact that good players have a higher winceiling than before has been pointed out numerous times. Feel free to read @El2aZeR posts in the CV thread. Steamrolls no doubt have other causes than just CVs though. See above comment about winrates. Sure the RTS were still OP as fark, but not so excessively annoying. Sure after 2 years and even Sub_Optimal denying that, saying it was a dumb idea that didn't work. Recently posted somewhere also by @El2aZeR, but now that subs suddenly suffer with air spotting it's a whoooole different issue. It's still a massive issue if your team has the 5 year old who does nothing and the other team has a super unicum CV player, to a degree that regular ships don't have. There has been a LOT of constructive criticism over this team. It's usually just killed off as the the no-spot/only-map-spot idea has been until now. Sure it's a lot of blahblah with crap in the CV thread, but there is a lot of suggestions also. Its just that noone thinks WG gives a shait about them anymore. I certainly don't. I gave a lot in the start, but not anymore. I also didn't complain about CVs for the first 6 months, just to see how they work out, giving WG the benefit of the doubt. I should not have.
