WG please show CV players some love!
Nibenay78 replied to black_falcon120's topic in General Discussion
Noone said good CV players didnt kick our arses then either, however: Good positioning (FARK! TEAMPLAY!??) and the click of a button could negate most of a strike (DefAA panic) friendly CV (FARK! TEAMPLAY AGAIN???) could be a deterrent again AA had longer range and for example minotaur had 8.6km range and could easily pick off a few planes at range, which directly reduced incoming damage. (HOLY CRAP MORE TEAMPLAY!!) and now without teamplay Longer AA easier picked off planes sooner AA was generally quite useful on the "high AA ships" DefAA generally saved your own butt with marginal damage (which often gave you time to gtfo) Planes were much slower, and took more time to set up. Pro CVs players did NOT kill 12 ships in 12 minutes. @El2aZeR can give you the attack time for a round trip. Oh and losing a full squad actually gave a time penalty. Cross drop was painful, but reasonably rare encounter at least. I prefer to be crossdropped an die asap, than the lingering death of being spotted for 30 seconds, gunned down by the entire team and there is nothing you can do about it. But wait, if you had a DD with DefAA, you would use your get-out-of-jail card and press it as the drop happened... RTS was far from perfect, but everything about it was more enjoyable, even death -

I suppose a really good CV didn't care that much, but at least the plane losses were a %-chance pr second (pr sector?). Not based on only their skill. My favorite "teamplay" ship was having Gearing with DefAA. Screening for torps in front of the BBs (since hydro was a magical device almost noone had), laying long lasting smokes (that could hide any ship) and having a 7.2km AA radius that would induce "panic effect" on the squadrons coming for the BBs, making most of their stuff miss by a ships length or two... -

I'm sure we all enjoy the feeling of realism, despite how much wrong wows gets things. but the CV stuff feels completely like it breaks the immersion/verisimilitude now. RTS carrier attacks fit more my (probably completely unrealistic) imagination of carrier attacks. Nothing happens for a whle, but when you see many squardrons converge around your position it got really intense. And TRYING to dodge was really worth it. Nowadays its usually not really worth it to show your broadside to everyone else... but giving away "free" 10k damage on every run just feels frustrating too. -

it's actually one of my favorite loadingscreens/intros in a game. It really got that ww2 feel. And to some extent I enjoyed having RTS carries in games. as I believe it was @Europizza that said - it was like watching them play chess over head. Playing a dedicated AA cruiser or even DD you could mess up the other CVs attack runs. Great teamplay opportunities... -

Here is a spesific change: Revert CVs back to RTS It would be better than the bull-excrement we have today. Aaand i think this suggestion has popped up very regularly since the rework. -

Isnt that what the placebo reports are for? You mean the placedbo drops that must have 20 hits? In 8 vs 10 it seems AA sometimes got a vague effect... -
The Ship that feels like it is created just for you...

Hosho main! -
I'd like to see a researchable module for all surface ships. Anti air missiles. It mounts on the ship and will automatically attack any plane within 10km. It can not be damaged or destroyed. Reasons: CVs are op until they are destroyed and the rest of us are just XP pinata for the CVs until that time. Currently there is nothing to deter a CV to attack any ship at any moment.......

Hey WG, Fantastic job on Subs, CV's and Superships.

If we remove all the filthy 60%+ people, I can become the new unicum! -

Bad CVs players are more tolerable than good CV players. It's just sad that they can still ruin my game and fun simply by existing. Something most other classes can't if there is a really bad player in charge... But then you say - but a bad DD player can keep you spotted also all the time. Sure, but almost always they either make a massive mistake and die, or you can make a surprise move that catches them off guard and you blap them yourself. -

I completely agree! i strongly suggest CVs gets their own mode they can select, that contain lots of fun and engaging missions!!! It's such an excellent suggestion! -

I think people should be allowed to "not be so good". Especially the kind that are willing to admit it and learn should be given +1! Playing CV however - you have gone too far! -
Napoli is very enjoyable. I do would like that it got hydro with all the underwater weed that appeared lately..

Yeah. I have no problems that they try new stuff that initially might seem bad (from the players viewpoint) to see if an idea turns out as a popular, fun and balanced mechanic. But farking h... reverse the changes when its evident it sucks (as predicted). Edit: doing it 3 years later doesnt count either... -

The best part is how much of this was predicted to be a negative change... or at least non-positive and thus a waste of resources for WG and just annoying and undeeded change for the rest of us. -
Yet it dies like a DM, which is more than one can say about the superCVs. Most of the other superships die like the rest when they make a wrong turn or two. I enjoy Annapolis myself, mostly to see if I can do the bursts at the right moment (and it has more AA than DM, and we can never have enough AA) It completely invalidates DM though, and with the moneysink it is, its in my eyes well into P2W for the average player. I dont think I can manage break even myself at all, but who cares, I am loaded with silver so I can always pretend p2w... gold ammo was the main and most prominent reason to call WoT a crap game. As far as I can see the danger in any CV is to get deplaned, not die, and even a CV dumbass like me can usually avoid that. So what is the superCVs risk then?

I believe min +2 would be appropriate for most CVs!
-
I have the feeling that comes with full immunity to fire.
-
Yeah well what can I say.... Clearly I do much better in other cruisers, just see this randomly chosen example! edit: yes its my real stats, but remember no statshaming! I could be hurt deep in my heart...

Popular opinion is Moskva clearly!

Nibenay78 replied to CV_SUB_Report_Blacklist's topic in General Discussion
I'd be good paying more than 5k dubs for a camo that gives a ship prem status... but alas... -
They should have an ingame effect. Like 1 report for CV and sub player should result in 100 coop games (or more )
-
They are not useful! But it always feela good when a CV or Sub player rages over being reported

I can indeed agree. If one is resposible for the spreadsheets, what is worse? 1) 10 experienced, knowledgeable players that test and demonstrate broken/bad/incorrect mechanics and gameplay. Giving well formulated and reasonable arguments why something is bad or needs to be changed? 2) 1000 windowlickers like myself that just want to play and enjoy the game that just go: gaaaaaah! This sucks! - without any further explanation. I would guess nr 2 would have most inpact However WG got both 1) and 2) and still drags their feet for years, hoping people will get tried to whine. And I suppose as long as they get (enough) new meat that willingly buys premium and insanely overpriced prem ships, it makes the spreadsheet happy. I am very happy I dont have to defend WG on this forum as my job. -

While I personally prefer well formulated and reasonable arguments, its seems this does not work very well towards WG at all. Massive uproar seems the only thing. And only then do they change things and pretend this was an unfortunate event that they could not foresee coming (despite years of complaints before). Apologies that are given ONLY after massive pressure isn't worth much.
