    Even more spesifically, the color gradient where it turns from Solanum Tuberosum Noobsum - often red/orange/yellow in coloration - to Solanum Tuberosum Usefulsum - generally a green variety.

    Just played a game in Montana. I died only from AP gunfire from 2 Yamatos and some smaller stuff. But I was pinged for the last 2-3 minutes by some a-hole sub who did 0 damage. Player experience: 1 - Yamatos: I've died to Yamatos since the game started, my position could've been better. Fair enough 2 - Subs: The endless pinging is incredibly annoying and all I did was use my last report on him, say something chatbannable and instant quit the game. Left with some feeling that physical violence IS the answer...
  6. Bullcrap. CVs and Subs excel picking off lone targets. Personally I love going alone even with BBs (if possible), but these two elements pretty much removes that option just by being in the game. Especially the CV as he can switch targets from anywhere to you.

    Not sure what is the worse experience. 1) seeing a sub appear for a second and drop 2 airstrikes which does 2k dmg or something 2) sit in a light cruiser and watch sub sail past at 3km and you can not shoot him and leaving the island to drop charges would leave you instantly killed by everything else.

    but the fact still remains it's 8 skillpoints that effectively decreases the efficiency of the ship against all other ships. Hydro is vastly more useful in pretty much every game, and a module that effectively gives 12% more firepower instead. and this is useful if 1) there IS a carrier in the game 2) the carrier actually engages near me 3) the player is not "reasonably good" at which point either upgraded or base AA is not relevant. 4) as we both know, it doesn't stop the first attack... Ironically I had a game with Annapolis vs Nakhimov just after my other post yesterday. It went exactly as expected. The rocket planes struck me at the start of the game for 10k, despite running defAA and sector. Due to most of them becoming immune to damage. He then avoided my pathetic-range bubble for the rest of the game until it was game over and struck me again losing a bit more planes.

    Dynamic to the extent that individual ships usually keep moving, other than that I'd say it's a max-range shootout as anyone who gets slightly closer will get focused. Islands are what players make them, either a place to spam from safety or a place to move up island by island. Personally I prefer the latter (if possible, it might not always be), even moving into tight waters with battleships if I belive it can press up the front. Most t10 Wot games tends to be hide behind the hill/doublebush and "shoot the pixel". Eventually one flank crumbles and the faster tanks move up to shoot the other flank in the arse, at which point it's game over. A broad statement, but some heavy tanks are slower than battleships though so... :D I think we can agree on the last part, CVs were not abundant, no radars and limited hydro made sneaking up much more likely before. My favorite is WGs explanation that "radar and hydro goes through land because otherwise it would be too difficult for players to understand". I don't remember the exact quote, but I had it as signature here for years, taken from a WG Q&A page that is now gone. Lets say I'm happy for qutting WoT, it has some charm, but I usually reinstall it during christmas and I'm simply finding the newer additions more and more unfun. WoWs is doing the same thing, they are just some years behind but trying to catch up. To go back to the OPs question - it used to be a game about warships focusing on their particular various roles. Now it's a spamfest.

    I'd say wows is way more dynamic, plus you're not always screwed if the other flank falls. Which is 100% in WoT. Ocean is just boring, leaving little opportunity to make surprise advances. Although with CVs thats not really a thing anymore... You'd think so, but I think the ones that were truly interested already played wows and most influx today is more randomly "not that interested" group. We'll soon get lasers in random...

    I think most new that, but I expect people to listen more to a really good CV player than some half-arsed one like me! Most kind to verify that fact... I think I've spent enough wasted points on AA related stuff really, but it feels good in my heart when less-skilled CV players whine how their planes burn like candles.

    I think so too. Good thing i got a high quality office chair last year... The previous one wasnt comfy enough to wait since the rework.. (and covid homeoffice!)

    I meant that on the large scale, its about shooting big shells at various angled boxes with various more-or-mostly-less realistic mechanics. Much like wot in this regard. As a personal opinion i find wows basically more complex and interesting and much more Either game must still provide fun and enjoyment. CVs provided more joy before both playing and against. And I can see how newbies find dealing with skypest and suckmarines problematic while us oldies are blowing their broadsides to pieces while they are figuring out whats going on.

    Opinions vary wildly on that matter, and Wg has to choose some level of realism. Make it die-hard realistic and I think you end up with a game only a small hardcore group of people would enjoy. Certainly not good for business and I doubt that group would include myself either. On the other hand we could have teleporting ships with lasers (oh wait we had) which will certainly appeal to a completely other group of people (also not me I think..) wows is basically big, lumbering tanks with a lot of inertia and less accurate cannons. But for me it feels completely different though. And we dont have gold ammo....

    Not having fun is an issue in a game. Most realism here is superficial anyway, but the point is that we feel it fits our expectations (even if they are completely wrong) and that we enjoy the game. Works great with p2w ammo that almost ignores armor plating.. :D

Edit: Just to make sure I'm not completely lost - the (outdated) wiki claims that all increases are multiplicative. As far as I see, defAA and Sector running at max should then multiply the numbers on the screenshot with 2.625 (1.75 x 1.5) ? meaning the values would be 2029 and 837? And then further reduced by 0.9 to 1826 and 753 decimals just cut off. which means within 4km a squad would take about 1500 dps. If only it wasn't immune during the run :D
