    It's a fair point. My experience with cancer is that it's WAY too exciting. In fact life is better without it. come to think of it, that goes for CVs too...

    I have no idea, these pop up occationally for me. I can guarantee it's not because of my serious answers. WG: Did you like the new Swiss battleships introduced in 0.25.1? Me: They are ok, but rework CVs really ruin the game.

    They offer more interesting stuff than subs was my point. Both offensively and defensively. subs only purpose is to kill others and as they rarely engageother subs, they become like the CVs. not DDs that often "cancel eachother out". They offer nothing to their own team but occational spot, and often not even that. Even at a point blank engagement they can't give support fire if they already shot their torps just before.

    Not by itself it makes a huge difference, as both are hard to spot, both have massive alfa and both provide spot. However DDs are more interesting. * They fire torps more rarely * they can't teleport through your space - you usually have a vague idea where they are (or RPF) * DDs provide defensive measures for you as a bigger ship (smoke/hydro) * DDs by their very nature usually end up screening for torps and encountering eachother * in RTS times they could give quite nice AA with DefAA going. Nowadays it's mostly if you have a Halland or similiar you might become an unappetizing target for the CV

    I agree with this. "We value your feedback". I Don't really believe it for a second, as only massive feedback gives changes. I'm willing to bet you are very correct regarding mentality and ego. All kind of spotting is destructive for such gameplay. I love to do it in any ship, especially BBs (preferably Montana). And while radar and hydro isn't the biggest issue there (as 10km is already pretty close and you know which ships got them) too many of them on top of the cancer-CV makes any bold manouver a VERY high risk. Subs certainly adds to this risk, especially in larger ships.

    And lets not forget realism doesn't always make a good game. If it was realistic we would all show our broadsides all the time if possible.

    It is indeed. I found rtsCVs occationally quite fun to play and even interesting to play against. ReworkCVs are just frustrating and boring. Same ships, same game, different implementation and quite different subjective experience from my side. It's perfectly possible that there is a way to incorprate subs into the game that I would enjoy, but I don't really see how and even if I did, I doubt WG would allow any radical changes - as we have seen after the CV rework, they are hellbent on forcing all shiptypes to play "the same way" (Not RTS style or other, regardless if it's better or not). Wether it's impossible to implement or poorly implemented kinda ends up with the same feeling. I just don't want to play anymore. It's not fun. The game is good until the sub or CV shows up. A bad encounter leaves me to just slam the quit button, and I'm a reasonably patient person to begin with. and the absolutely final point - IF WG found a way to make subs fun to play/play against, I would be VERY happy. But I think we both know that if they don't find this, they will NOT cancel the submarine push and we will be stuck with a massively annoying element forever, like CVs are now.

    How about this: regardless of the balance - I find both playing against sub and playing subs just plain boring? As I said before, I'd love to have as many "types" of ship included, but not at any cost.
  14. While i would love most games to incorporate as many various elements as possible, I have through almost 40 years of gaming realized that more is not always better. He does explain very well the reasons for NOT adding subs. Which of these reasons have drastically changed except the need for new content? And never say never means I can soon have my well balanced nuclear missile ship? We can always make it numerically balanced. If it will be "fun & engaging" is another matter.

    You must play different cruisers than I have. Its not unusual to get pissed on by the CV in most (so called) AA ships..

    I would not think it gives any indication regarding your CV skill or anything. Personally I tend to report both friendly and enemy CV during the start countdown...
  19. So how fun do you think it is to chase around a submarine with massive battery capacity? You said it yourself in regards to speed and moving... it's boring to wait, especially to waste like 5 minutes in a max 20 min game. I've had several occations when a sub overextended and badly damaged disappears near me in a DD. I dont know where he goes but I do know the following: 1) I have to kill him or he will be spamming our bigger ships or cap behind us, or just spot everyone from behind - In other words, he must die. 2) I'm going to have to just guess where he's going and EVEN if I'm right, I'll probably be out of the battle for minutes, just HOPING I made an educated guess. 3) I probably will kill the sub eventually, but it will usually cost me the rest of "being useful" time of this battle. It's a very unfun situation all over. A good sub player is even less amusing to face.

    Can we make it an Super SD? While I used to be a SW fan (until certain movies killed it all), I do like the look of if the Executor No I dont care if there are other SSD types. This is the only relevant one. Edit: I'll pay 5 euro for the super part..
