    Best Tier to play

Guys what is the best tier to play on nowdays ? For the past years i have been playing almost only on T9 due to the favourable MM and decent freemium ships with good credit earnings, but since the super ships and the subs are around T9 doesnt feel good to play anymore. I tried a few tiers which i liked to play in the early days of WoWs but those were bad experiance too: T6 is full of double CV MM which is outright disgusting, so thats a no-go T8 BBs aside it feels like a painfull uphill strugle, almost allways bottom tier no heal on the cruisers hurt really bad when you face T9-10 , and most T8 DD is simply no match for the overpowered T10 DDs who usually end up in the same MM with T9 is ruined by the constant supership spam like Eagle, United States, Condé and other utterly broken crap , and to top it up very often there is also 2 submarine to just make things worse Are the sealclub tiers the only ones which are not infested by the newest garbage that WG fore down our throats ? Or we still have a safeheaven where we can enjoy WoWs without double CV, submarines and "Super" Ships ?

    Just adapt xD

CVs and subs are im my opinion not that big of a problem, the problem is when there is more than one of them combined. Since you have literally 0% when 2 CV or sub+ CV or 2 sub decide to spam you.

Is it worth coming back ?

I left WoWs roughly around when the original US and German submarines got released, as they were too fustrating to deal with. Have the situation improwed since it ? When WG messed up the game in 2019 with the CV rework after around 8-10month they relaised how broken and disgusting the rocket planes were vs DDs & fixed the issue. Have our beloved devs made some similar fix to the submarines too, or actually they still havent figuerd out what their spreadsheets are telling them ?

Is it worth coming back ?

I gave it a go, USN and RN DD are still quite a fun experiance but thats about it, BB play is short of meh unless i sail something absolutely busted ( Ohio or Thunderer), and cruisers seem to suffer the hardest from subs. But on the positive end at least some DDs are still great fun. I have seen that WG added a few new lines, any of them worth getting or i should just stay with the USN/RN T8-10 ones.

Is it worth coming back ?

Nah, statistically i was doing similar even with the subs around. Just with the subs around WoWs felt less entertaining than the other games i have been playing. Like back in 2021 i spent around the same time in WoWs as i spent in Warthunder Air and Ground, by end of 2022 that 1:1 turned out to more like a 1:10 ratio playtime wise. But nowdays i short of miss the ships gameplay, and since i have a lot of good stuff here & i havent yet bother with WT naval , i generally considered picking this one up again if the main issue which made the game short of stale and boring have been adressed.

Is it worth coming back ?

Short of yeah, or to be honest i miss the 2018 version of it. CV rework was a manageable downhill, the subs with their busted gameplay killed the fun out of the game for me last year. As i see form the other comments WG havent done anything about it, guess i will stay away for a couple of months and check back. As for the rage quit, it didnt really happened, the subs just grinded down my interest overtime, 2022 summer i played like 80-100 games a month , by October it droped to 40-50 and by the winter it went down to around 10 a month .. this year i probably havent played a single game. But since i enjoyed the game for a long time im still willing to give it another go if WG doesn something about the issues which made me drop it in the 1st place.
  7. deathsadow

Is it worth coming back ?

I tried it when they released the subs, and it was bad enough back then to make me quit. If WG havent done any core changes to them i dont think it would worth even a try. Double would work, but both of us were disgusted from the subs last year. We decided to give the game another go in case if the subs have been nerfed or reworked.

Playerbase degraded so hard it loses basic operations

And exactly thats the kind of players WG want!

Playerbase degraded so hard it loses basic operations

Well the game all around is full of the sub 45% players, Ops and Randoms alike. Im not even a good player (53% WR) yet i still top the Ops around 8/10 time & lately im consistently top 3 of my team, and saddly it is not even a big deal noways. Probably half of the active playerbase is extremly bad even on the basics. WG should really force a tutorial on players of this kind, to at least get the basics of the game right & not just spam HE with a Yamato , or shot 8km torps 15km from the enemy.

    I had enough!

:P at least compared to the s... show which we have on T9-10 nowdays. At those tiers the game plays out the same boring way each goodamn match ... you know exactly which islands will host the HE spammers, BBs will camp on 20+km & and you get even more anoying Super CVs with jets to F your game up form time to time. But yeah some might enjoy that camper playstyle , personally i would play a Fiji over that any time.

    T10 vs T7 Gameplay

High tiers in wows are getting way too boring nowdays, most of the matches end up in a long range HE spam fest, or sniping with ultra large caliber BBs fully relaying on the busted overmatch of those guns. I usually play T7 or T9-10 , but the T9-10 meta just got soo awfully campy and boring compared to the t6-7 ones that i play less and less on the high tiers ( my favourite ships are still mostly up there, but the meta is just plain passive and borign). Im not exactly sure why but the T7 games are way more active , with more flanking and more mid range fights happening, and a lot more ships and tactics are viable compared to the high tiers. For example Fiji works great on T7, so does the Scharnhorst or the 203mm equiped IJN CAs , while in the T9-10 meta all of the before mentioned ships counterparts are pretty poor compared to the low cal flamethorwers and the 457mm & above caliber BBs. The balance seems awfully off nowdays on T10 for the BBs and Cruisers, for DDs im not sure as i only play RN & USN, so anyone who is more into them would be great to reflect on how they compare on mid tiers & high tier. For the cruisers im pretty sure its the Cpt rework and camo disparity what reduces them to only 2 viable tactic ( island spammer, kite & burn), the same stelath based play what works fine on the Fiji and the Myoko is very high risk and not so high reward play to pull out on the Zao or Mino , and usually a radar equiped ship does a better job at supporting DD at cap anyways. The only ship which seem to still get away with this move in flank & repostion tactic is the Venezia, but this is only due to its fuel smoke. Also the 203mm AP and the 152mm AP gets lot lot less effective against the T10 armor schemes & ranges, so while an AP broadside from a Myoko is still pretty devastating , the Zao nowhere near has the comparable punch for its tier on its AP, the Mino also has its 152s way less effective but it has a crazy RoF to back up for it at least. To me it seems that in order for a cruiser to ba able to properly flank in the mid game some short of smoke screen seem to be a must, probably a fuel smoke, crawling smoke , or burst smoke, as the normal one would just make players camp in it. On the BBs its the guns balance which seem to got rekt by the WG, and here i mostly look at the ships with 457s and the super BBs. Back in the day Yamato was the only BB whou could overmatch 30 & 32mm plating , but it had a trade of for that ability horrible gun traverse , easy to blap cheeks & lots of overpen vs weakly armored ships, for the 457 equiped BBs im looking at Ohio and Thunderer here, there is no negative effect for taking their 457s over the the 406s , you are more accurate, load faster , turn the turret faster, overmatch 30mm plating , for only 20-25% less maximum broadside weight and DPM , but im more than sure that the extra accuracy, overmatch and pen value will get this trade-off covered too. This would be a pretty easy fix for WG, as the situation is pretty similar to the 406s compared to the 380s on T7-8, but unlike with the 380s-406s relation , here WG decided to give the better reload not to the smaller guns but the larger ones . From what i can see T7 seems all around better tought out and designed by WG, with more focus on the positioning, and aiming for specific parts of opposing ships than on T10, while T10 seems like a dumbed down version of the game with fail proof design choices, like overmatching all platings ( you can just aim for center of mass & hit hard anyway due to overmatch) & going nuts on setting fires, whit a huge gimmick fiesta to at least make a bit of an artificial difference in the gameplay. I would like to hear others opinion on this topic too, and also i admit that I probably have a biased opinion ( 80% of my games are on Cruisers or BBs, most of it on fast BBs and CAs).

    I had enough!

To focus on the positives, T6-7 is still pretty good fun, as long as there arent 2 CVs in the round, WG is too busy milking the playerbase with T8-10 to really spend their time ruining the mid ones. And lets be honest , most T5-7 new ships are utterly garbage, so players would need to spend FXP on them, but i take it as a plus , since that stops the powercreep in those tiers, Warspite and Fiji still rules the seas on T6-7 just like back in the days when they were new, and mostly the players who still had the Belfast are milked to extinction. Players are so obsessed with T9-10 and supers that the WG farmboys seem to totally forget about the mid game, and we can keep having our fun down there.

Third tech tree of UK battleship

The idea sounds nice , except for the Uses British battleship HE shells part ... we dont need more HE spammer BBs. If we really want to add them some Unique shell combination, go with Short Fuse RN AP with improved pen angles (like Mino, but with much larger caliber) but reduced alpha like 9800-10500 ish range on high tiers and Standard AP with standard alhpa in the 12000 ish range but improved not so slow shell speed.. The proposed armor layout , and the range and shell speed suggest that the proposed ships would be a high skill BB line anyways, so might aswell go with a high skill AP loadout with flexibility between the 2 AP shell type. This would also add some dedicated playstyle to the ship, the short fuse AP, good camo, and MBRB would make it a dedicated Cruiser hunter, while the standard AP let you play like a typical RN BB with AP. If you add Incredibly quick rudder shift for a battleship , there is no need to add Hydro on top ... torp DDs suposed to counter BBs, so let them do with this one too. Pick 1 out of the 2, personally i would prefer the swift rudder, and maybe add a short duration speed boost starting from T8 instead of the hydro, that would synergize very well with the Reload Boost. Damage Control Party takes 90 seconds to cool down — like cruisers — much faster than 120 seconds on most other battleships. This sounds again a bit of a overkill with the Super Heal in place already, those should cover for a hell of a lot fire dmg. Secondaries have much higher accuracy and shorter reload time in comparison to her counterparts. What would be the caliber and the range for those ?

    T10 vs T7 Gameplay

Yeah in this way it is absolutely true, even the chances are very slim that you can move up that close without getting a perma tripple fire, or get overmatched for 10k+ by a large gun BB, and i guess it has mostly to do with the later additions by WG, which really spiced up the HE spam and made Yamatos used to be the largest 460s into almost avg caliber for the higher tiers :P Actually mid tier gameplay is still pretty good, and this is porbably mostly up tot the fact that WG havent really "introduced new mechanics" AKA messed up the gameplay there as much as on T10. And personally i wouldnt mind if WG, would have Black Jack for USS New Jersey , and Roulette for HMS Prince of Wales , as long as they would keep the game balanced and fun.

    T10 vs T7 Gameplay

Personally i think that a T6-7 BB is way more fragile in its tier vs direct dmg than the T8 and up ones, as its a slower easier to hit target, with a much worse armor scheme and way way less HP , just as an example take the Colorado vs the Montana , or the Nagato vs the Yamato , the T10 ones are protected against all AP up to 406mm if angled correctly with their 32mm bows , their middle dec are usually thick enough to prevent the HE pen of the common 152mm and 203mm HE rounds, on most of the T7 BBs you will not find that level of protection , really the Gneisenau and the Scharnhorst are the only one which field this level of armor ,and some partial ice breaker on the brawling oriented ones here and there. What seems to be more lethal on T10 is the fire dmg for BBs, since even the Cruiser and DD lines who didnt excel at HE spamming on T7 gets some serious fire setting ability later down the road ( KM CA and USN CA which comes to my mind 1st) & also WG added much more broken HE spammer prems on T10 than on T7, probably both the Colbert and the Smolensk way outperform even the Atlanta in that regard. As for the cruisers, the cruiser vs cruiser lethality seem to decrease in my opinion, due to the range of engagemnets, and the addition of the heal. Since most of the combat happen around 16-18km nowdays you will probably land fewer shells and even less citadell hits compared to the 12-14km fighting ranges which are the usual ones on T7. For cruisers when they get shot by BB , there is a massive increase in lethality without any doubt. As for the playstyle , yeah T10 is more of a waiting game, but as soon as one side gets 2-3 ship less than the other, unlike on T7 there is close to no comeback potencial, as the losing team will allways stick to this same play wich seems an awfully bad tactic when you fall behind, yeah on T7 lot of the time players take unnecessary risk , and by T10 this go to the other extreme, when most of the players will not push at all, when it is needed which will end up in the same resoult, a lose.

The Most Wanted Ship - The Data

My only suprise is how low the Cesare is on the list (only 4) ... when its probably the most busted BB tier to tier.

Upgrades / modifications are due for a rework

Magazine modification: We also have a flag to counter that dumb mechanic 100% chance , this mod is totally useless and IMHO should be removed. AA Guns Mod 1 / Def AA Mod 1: Here not only the module but the whole AA system needs a rework, even if you are fully kited to AA , if the CV can dodge the flak he will drop you anyways. And yeah i dont think any AA module can compete with a Main Battery module, AA module should have a separate slot for it to ever be considered. Depth Charges Modification: Again, the whole submarine stuff is a mess, and yeah its simply not worth to pick it up. Torpedo Lookout System / Ship Consumables Mod 1: Yup those 2 are not bad perks, but they are nowhere near in performance to the Concealment Mod and Steering Mod 2. Torp lookout should probably moved to one of the early slots ( 1st or 2nd maybe) It would see far more use in the low level torps soups. The consumable Mod is very niche, and the mere 10% extra uptime hardly ever worth the trade, WG should probably buff it to a higher % or add CD reduction or extra charges on top to consider it a viable alternative to the other 2 module. Submarine modifications: I got no clue on that one, i tried the subs in testing , they were boring, so i havent looked much into them. But honestly probably we are better off if WG dont touch this part, the Cpt Perks only got worse with their rework ( Cruiser one is outright trash compared to the old version) , so it is better to have a few useless modules than a WG style rework.

Japanese hybrid cruiser tech tree proposal

Sure, this sounds probably better than whatever WG has on their mind for 2023 Probably the high dmg torps would be blatantly OP combined in this design , so this throw a lot of weak torps aproach which we have on the Ise would be prefered over that one, it will still get the job done, and would be more fair to the ships on the receiving end too. Also i dont think that IJN 155mms + Hard hitting & high flooding chane torps would be something to be added in 1 pack.

    Nerf Kronshtadt!!!

Yeah WG seem to have run out of viable ideas and just mess around with dumb gimmicks , which mostly end up OP or totally worthless. Back in the day the ships they added at least had a distictive role, with clear strenghts and weaknesses, which were in line with their classes, im looking at the old IJN, USN and KM lines in this regards, but yeah this will not come back. Probably soon we will see 203mm equiped BBs and DDs too :P

Top 5 Ships That Were nerfed To Hell

Damn he missed the Henry IV. WG literally broke the legs of that ship with the nerf hammer.
  21. deathsadow

    Nerf Kronshtadt!!!

Its not the BBs who are OP, its the cruisers which are underpowered with only a few exceptions ( Condé has a cap to it too in CB). Cruisers have been indirectly nerfed to the ground in the last few years... Many BB got 457mm or larger guns, so the usual 30mm cruiser plating is irrelevant nowdays when i comes to bounces. There are BBs already with equal or better speed and camo to most cruisers cruisers eg: Schlieffen, Thunderer, Incomparable just to name a few There are DDs with which are just as good at setting ships on fire as most cruisers, and have no citadel, and much better camo. Unless you plan to lob shells over an island probably you are better-off playing a BB or a DD over most cruisers. There are still a few good ones left around ( Alaska, Venezia , Nevsky) but most of them are just subpar nowdays.
  22. deathsadow

    Nerf Kronshtadt!!!

:P not allways true , Alaska would most likely be better than most of the T10 Cruisers. But yeah its the Kronstadt what is OP. Whats next Krasny Krym OP?
  23. deathsadow

    Nerf Kronshtadt!!!

It got nerfed already twice , and it is one of the weaker Super cruiser already. The stats are only looking so good cause very few player actually has the ship, and even less play it, probably the only ones still using the Kronstadt today are the guys who perform way above avg with likely any of the super cruisers. 1st they added it longer burn time. 2nd WG destroyed the Captain perks for cruisers you are way better off with a fast BB than the Kronstadt, or basically any of the Soviet T10 cruisers will perform better.

    Shikishima or Bourgogne for steel

And what is your opinion on the Bourgogne or Mecklenburg, which one would you go for between this 2 and why ? I got quite a few 457 equiped BB and both Yamato and Musashi , so i would like to pick up something with a smaller caliber as my next BB. The Bourgogne seem to be very similar to the Jean Bart which i got already and i like that one, but the German doesnt seem similar to anything i played sofar, is it worth picking up it over the Bourgogne ?
