WG cant suprise me anymore, all i expect from Subs is a CV rework level of mess up ... it will be hard to do worse than that:D -
14 Days of Premium Account as a Gift!

Nice we get 14 day prem ... it wont offset the disaster your captain rework made but it is still something positive for a change. Gratz for making the 1st good move since the notorious mistakes of CV & Captain rework. PS: Please DO NOT ADD SUBS, you fail to balance even 4 ship class, you are as likely to make subs a good addition to the game as Czech Republic is likely to build a fleet rivaling the US Navy :P -
Developer Bulletin for Update 0.10.4
deathsadow replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
The only thing i seen in this patch is finally the removal of that game killer Dead Eye . Maybe the game will be worth playing again with ship classes other than CV and BB. As for the auction patches and flags probably only pulll resources form "collectors" but prem ships ... those would easily pull 20.000.000 credit+ for a medicore to bad T8 premium ...like in WOT even the crappier T8 tanks went for a price of a fully equiped T10. -
Massa, Georgia and Ohio were overpowered, so this nerf was somehwat justified, as before the commander rework they were significantly better 2nd gun ships than anything else in the game, even with the German 2nd gun focused ships considered, while they had great guns for their tier, decent AA & in case of Georgia it even had insane mobility. As for the Supercruisers the commander rework had totally wrecked them, if anything they should be reconsidered as a BB, lets be honest the supercruisers we have with the exception of maybe the Azuma and Yoshino are more like Battlecruisers & their playstyle also more similar to a standard BB than to a standard cruiser. PS: YabbaCoe has same kind of valid opinon as we have, but he can be just as biased for a ship as any of us can be. Maybe the only thing what makes his verdict slightly less reliable is if he gets the ships for free ( i dont know if he grinds it or gets it free) , cause in that case a very expensive and slightly underpowered ship would be fine for him, but not for someone who needs to pay that huge price tag to get it.

The best thing i dead eye is that it doesnt really benefit the stupidest snipers, but it benefits the BBs with decent camo. If someone shots from 18-20km you still got plenty of time to dodge, but if you someone with 14km camo ( what even most T10 BB can get) shots from 15-16km with the 10% better dispersion on poor potato it is a free ticket back to port for it RNG aside. The most absurd thing i had with Deadeye is the Vladivostok, you kit it for full camo (12.2km) and Dead Eye , if you shot around 13-15km with it you are almost guaranteed to land 7-9 shells even against DDs.

0.10.0 Combat Missions: Happy Waitangi Day!

Yamamoto has the same issue, his skills pretty much only fit the Battleships, while he was mainly focused on the IJN Aircraftcarriers historically. -
0.10.0 Combat Missions: Happy Waitangi Day!

Same here, 1st battle of the day with Thunderer: High Cal, Confederate, 1st blood, Fire proof , Dread, and 2x dev strike, as long as someone score the 1st blood it is not that rare to get 5 achi or more. Just play some "balanced" ships like Kremlin, Thunderer, Ohio ... if you do decent a dread comes easy too, and all you have is 3 more to go which shoudl come naturally on a decent BB game ( probably a dev strike or 2 & the dmg related ones) But yeah , if you dont have the biased powerhouses it comes quite hard. -

19km Smolly was broken OP , but dont worry , just take out the Thunderer with the new Dead Eye perk & you will get your free farming OP Tier 10 in a new shape and form. A finetuned BB with 8x 457mm gun & cruiser like accuracy. -
Waterline: What's Happening Next?

Okay , so new German DDs will have bad HE dpm, bad concealment , and no smoke. Their torpedoes will be average at best, so all they have going for them is the 150mm AP rounds and the hydro they have. To be honest this already looks like a horrible DD unless WG has some gimmick as a saving grace for them. Basically they cant hide from CVs, and most DD outspot and outgun them, the torps are both lacking in range and dmg ( 8km on T10 .. honestly with 13700 dmg). They dont have heal, speedboost, or smoke so the class is ripped of any deffensive tool except the questionable deffensive AA. I really hope that WG does some significant buff on this concept, as the package they have around is a bad joke compared to the other gun focused DDs like the Kleber or even the Khaba. The stats WiP as they were anounced on devblog: https://blog.worldofwarships.com/blog/112 -
Is nerfing secondary builds justified in upcoming captain skills rework?
deathsadow replied to vaapad_master's topic in General Discussion
This captain skill rework seems like if WG dont really consider many playstyle, 2nd gun builds were not that great before , but this seems like the final nail in their coffin, the skill to improve the dispersion got nerfed to oblivion. But to be honest this is still not as bad as what the Supercruisers will need to suffer with losing access to Fire Prevention. They are nerfing some playstyle to the ground while they add even more tools for the map edge snipers .... -

I would rather have a new player trying to play the ARP Yamato compared to a guy like that: -
Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
deathsadow replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
Well , that can happen to .. My experiance was that ARP Yammies around me were mostly Waifu-Warriors. But honestly, with the T10 playerbase even a new player is not that big of a deadweight, on T10 you see more sub 45% experianced noobs than anywhere else in the game. -
CB Season 11 : Feedback & Discussions topic.
deathsadow replied to thiextar's topic in General Discussion
Have the last 2 season has this kind of data already ? I am pretty sure we will have the same data over here too, i mean CBs havent changed all that much, the only change worth mentioning is that now not the Haku, but the MVR terorised the russian and USN cruisers. -
Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
deathsadow replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
Well i think the ARP Yamato is designed for weeb-whales, i dont think a newbie would throw this much money into the game... the ship the newbies go for is the Derpitz anyway. -
Heh dont you have better things to buy out of that money... maybe it is just my opinion but mostly the stuff WG sell during this Early access times is just a waste .. bet you come out cheaper if you buy gold and FXP to T10 on the new line in a few weeks :D
-
Guys WG did a great job , we have been asked for some time between the events ... well this is it, this event is so meaningless that most of us can simply ignore it. We got the tech three ships on T8-10 with speeds what even were painfull on the Colorado already, which is a pass for me. And damn 22.000 doublon for the Florida ... you can buy a Massa+ a Mainz out of that .. and those are OP T8 prems.

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
deathsadow replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
Hm ... is it just my feelings or the T8-10 MM is consisting exclusively from 10-12min steamrolls? The last 61 games i played there were only 8 where eighter of the teams made a comeback, and in 7 of that 8 games there were a player single handedly turning the game around with 5-6kill, the rest of the games were all won clearly by one team within the 1st 5 min of the game. Is it poor game design from WG for high tiers, or what is causing the nonstop rolfstomps ? -
Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
deathsadow replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
Divisions mess up the MM it is simple as that .. solo players will allways have worse MM than a 3 man division of goodish players .. simple as that. You got 2 options: 1) Play with ppl who are as good as you or better & you will easy have 60%+ WR 2) Get used to be trashed by players playing in divisions & if you are good get maybe 50-55% WR There is option 3 too .. but for that you need to sacrifice your life and play the hell out of this game and ascend to the group of no-lifer elitist unicums -
The main issue with low tier ITA cruisers is that on that tier BBs use extensive armoring basically everywhere , and not yet using the all-or-nothing armor schemes, so the pen you got on SAP is only able to pen a few sections of the enemy ships effectively. As for the cittadel, Omaha Emerald and a lot of other cruisers also have huge unprotected cittadel, so as long as you can kite like you supposed to do with cruisers generally you shouldnt have more issues than with other ships of T5. The real killer for Genova is the T5 mm, the slow RoF , and the armor schemes of that era, basically you often face significantly better ships from T6-7 , and most BB in your MM range has almost all part of their hull armor over your SAP penetration treshold thus making your fire ineffective. If you want to make the most out of the Genova than you need to avoid picking fights with BBs and cruisers with superior armament ( thinking of Fiji, Pensacola, Myoko and ship like that) you need to flank and hit your SAP in the side of cruisers or DDs, when you hit the thin side armor of targets like them you will do devastating dmg to them in a single salvo due to your superb SAP base dmg and the fact that you wont ever overpen with it. All in all you need to play it sneaky and bully the weak .. like a true italian mobster ... and that applies to all of the Italian cruisers maybe save for the Venezia which can basically pick a 1v1 with anyone on its terms due to its armor, mobility and smoke generator.

XD even the WG medals for avg dmg expect the most dmg from carriers ... so WG is well aware and confrim that CV supposed to have the best dmg , best spotting ability and tbh CV gameplay has 0 exactly 0 risk in it.

Can someone give me some advice on the USN heavy cruisers ? I have reseted them to play the line again , but the tactics what used to work back in 2015-2016 when i originally grinded them are not really working nowdays. What i have problems with is that i just cant seem to get the ships in range to effectively use the super heavy AP rounds, seemingly all engagements on T8-10 just happens to be on 15km+ where the USN CAs AP with its slow shells are just impossible to land the hits. I have tried to play with HE out on range but the Baltimore and the Buffalo has still pretty bad shell velocity on their HEs and their DPM is also an issue vs the newer cruisers.
-
Honestly i dont think the income rises for WG right now... probably the new T9 premiums in the shop are there to compensate for the lower income they recently have.
-
You have collected the details pretty damn well, and form the recent comments i seen its more like the 3 highlighted parts are indeed the issue for the ships except the Des who has legendary mod and the rapidfire guns to play around the mentioned problems.
-
Yeah for the Des or the Salem i can agree , the issue i face is more for the T6-9 CAs, but thanks for pointing it out , i wasnt accurate on the topic.
-
This is short of what i am trying to do , sit behind an island and cover a cap, that usually even works too if there is no IJN CV around to blast me out of there. The problems starts when i actually need to make some play to get my team back in the game. For example with Baltimore i have no issues holding a cap vs 2-3 ships, but when i would need to relocate to other cap , or push another cap when we lose 1:2 on caps it just feels impossible. The ship i great at blocking DDs from getting caps , or providing HE spam from cover( there are far better ships but its "good enough"), but it is totally incapable of supporting a push or flanking the enemy.
