My line of thinking is that bow armor is used most when fighting up close (relatively) so nerfing that would probably push a sizeable amount to keep at longer distances where they rely on their deck armor to bounce plunging fire. So my fear is that more bb's will be staying at max range and "snipe". Considering that this nerf hits BB's tier 8+ i also get the impression that those who cant deal with these bow on BB's simply fail to understand that the next step in that fight should be a switch to HE and hitting the superstructure. Also since this is a BB vs BB fight that wargaming considers too passive then you could ask yourself why the rest of the teams are not taking advantage of the situation where 2 big ships are tied down. I am not convinced that this is the best way to go to fix this heck i am not even convinced this is actually a problem that needs to be fixed.

Not sure this is the right way to go as this would actually encourage long range sniping over trying to brawl considering that bow armor is what you hit at close range and deck armor that remains unchanged is hit by plunging fire at long range.

Adored the bayern i would use that free xp to unlock modules on the gneisenau the one bb that is the stinker of the line so far. With the modules unlocked its faster then the scharnhorst has better AA and secondaries but its guns are still meh.

How about better shell normalization ? This way the shells will bounce a bit less then the regular hipper.

Have not downloaded it yet but i want to take some guesses. No historical skin/flag mods and no extended tech tree mod. Probably but it should be easier then trying to strike a balance with low caliber rapid fire AP where i would expect wargaming to favor the ability to somewhat reliably damage BB's and absolutely murder cruisers then have them again murder cruisers and only tickle BB's.

I also did it in a DD, you know something is wrong when the best advice is get the fastest ship you have and stay away from your team.

If the problem is HE then why not deal with HE globally ? Cut down the time a fire sticks maybe cut down the damage it does per tick and keep the RN cruiser line as is while buffing the change to cause a fire on all the other ships to bring them near the same average fire damage level they had before. This way the RN cruisers are the flamethrowers wargaming fears them to be but wont be doing as much damage as they would right now while other ships would get an increased chance to start a fire to get them on roughly the same level as they are now. Fiddling with the RN cruisers to make them square the circle is going to end up with a mess.

Well there is a chance to mess up royally if they cant get the balance just right it will be insanely op vs cruisers what to me seems the more likely choice compared to making it useless vs bb's. I suppose wargaming painted themselves into a corner here with creating either a flamethrower or a machinegunner line. Or go with the 3rd option and throw away the historical ships characteristics and turn them into a fantasy line and anger the british some more.

Rapid fire AP focus ? With all the bounces that will cause it will sound like christmas ding ding dingaling ding ding ding. Machinegunning cruisers and useless against bb doesnt sound enticing.

Just checked and the hipper has better AA ....... by a whopping 9 dps at 2.4km as it has 4 flaktwins of 20mm compared to the 2 flaktwins 20mm. So if its upgraded its not showing but the removal of the 2 guns is showing.

Upgraded anti-air ? i thought it was less then the elited hipper and certainly nowhere close to the kutuzov. And highest firing range again beaten easily by the kutuzov and its sister the hipper.

Bought it and want some additions. Better shell normalization and maybe a bit of a boost in AA.

Did not sell my campbeltown got the slot the money and the awesome commander. Cant wait to get my hands on the perth and the belfast to really grind up a solid cruiser commander i just hope they are released ahead of the british cruisers. Thanks Wargaming ! Really glad to have that commander.

Naked ship bundles clearly must stay and i am very releaved that EU did not opt for the american rip off scheme where those who want it asap have to buy the most expensive bundle. Now it does bother me a bit that the special flag is exclusive to the most expensive bundles.

I think they are turned gold manually as the queue jumper turned gold well before the 120k mark that the fire show is now past.

+10 % credits and the skin can probably be modded to look like the current one.

If i remember correctly the Eugen gets +50% additional commander xp over the standard tier 8 prem bonus and if you fork over money for the other skin then you get +10% credits on top of that. Seems like some serious bonuses if you ask me.

True and its honestly baffling they try this after the sh**storm about ships coming exclusively in bundles in my opinion this is worse.
