Very true as much as I complain this is a really good game, I remember the first day I played it how much it blew me away and even though we have had some ups and downs over the last 12months I hope the next 12 are as enjoyable. -
So as I understand what you are saying is this shell (in game) will be like a weak AP with a lower chance to citadel. But this will be balanced off by a more consistent damage ???

wow this just shows the level of issues we are dealing with........... surely the role of supertesters is to provide feedback based on the "regular" playerbase whats the point of testing something that only works for those of you that aren't too dumb??????? -

I myself have been giving the UK's historical role in the world some thought(since Britex)and while not always on the "side of good" Its fair to say I'm sure there are Jewish people on the servers playing German tanks and ships and people from the Baltic nations playing Russian ones. All that withstanding shouldn't cause what seems to have happened over the last week where they took a weak line(on paper)with one gimmick and because people complained they lost that and took a huge nerf! -
Sorry I wasn't asking to breech any NDA, However if I came across as such I apologize. That being said like you I have been waiting years(although perhaps not as long!), but unlike yourself I have no input to the developers and if "we just see what finally turns up"and it sucks to the level I believe it will, where do we go then???

I can only speak for myself. However, to me while the numbers are shocking, its the whole concept that I can't get my head around. Maybe the developers said well they complained that the Krasny Krym was bad so lets offer a line that's less useful in almost every way.

Much as I agree with much of what you have said, do you honestly believe that they will nerf BB's and buff cruisers. One only needs to look at the testing with the RN cruisers to see that's not going to happen. They took a line that appeared towards the low end of the current cruisers (by respective tier) with the acceptation of smoke. Removed the smoke ans nerfed it to oblivion giving it no role whatsoever. -

That seems to be it, but on the plus side if you have lived long enough you will be able to use your speed boost to run away just that little bit quicker! -
As I see it vb clearly the RN cruisers won't be great DD hunters due to not being able to do module damage(and no fire)and negligible assistance in supporting other ships against BB's Although I guess if you had a gun to my head and asked me what role these ships would have (other than hunting each other)I would say DD hunters.

so what you are saying is that if there are only 2 ships left one on either team if your in a cruiser you should just give up. EVERY higher tier cruiser currently in the game that I have played(with care)and that would be almost all but the Soviet ones can take on a BB certainly one tier below (although the US ones aren't great at it). No British cruiser would have that option.

The stupidity of this new conception is mind-numbing and the more I think about it the more angry it makes me. As I said earlier in the thread, before any of this current "plan" came out, WG had to be very clever with this line and personally I didn't know quite how they would be able to do it. In fairness to them at least part of the issue was not their fault at all, the RN simply didn't use cruisers in the same way that other nations did and consequently taking the traditional approach and having the line end with a number of Heavy Cruisers wasn't going to work(post WW1 the RN only had 2 CA classes and both of them would have been "old" by the standards of the rival powers within the game).. It was the classic case of trying to fit a techline into the game when the meta of the game is seemingly being pushed away from the role realistically that they could fill. I assumed we would end up (certainly at higher tiers)with a line that would play close to the 6inch Mogami and I would have been really happy with that. But you know what they say ‘Assumption is the mother of all [edited]ups’? What WG NEED to understand is that this line will generate a renewed interest in the game and from perhaps some people that have yet to play this game (something that has to be a good thing) it really needed to be user friendly (and let me stress I'm not talking about OP). What they now propose is something that is totally the opposite of that, that will require great skill to keep alive, pinpoint aiming to continue to deal damage(on high arc guns too!), with a ship that needs to be closer to the target AND will need to be their much longer than any other class in the game (due to you having no fire option). Basically, just for a moment lets forget that they are seriously under-powered, simply the concept is daunting to play and that comes from someone who has played 2000 games in Cruisers. Put it simply AS A CONCEPT(and I'm not talking about the final numbers)this is without doubt the most stupid thing WG within ships have ever come up with (much more so than introducing Soviet ships as early as they did). -

Are you [edited]serous???????? lets for a moment assume that the Battleship simply does nothing just sits there how long with low damage AP do you think it would take to kill him and heaven forbid if you get into secondary gun range! in fact I would bet that as now conceived most German battleships could sink a RN cruiser without themselves firing a shot(simply focus firing the secondary guns)

British tanks weren't great (although the Comet was the basis for most western tank development following WW2). However if you go to your local Kia dealership I very very much doubt the salesmen on your test drive will tell you how much the company sucks. -

I recall when the British Tank line first came out they made a whole video telling us how much British tanks sucked in RL it was the strangest thing and not somthing I have seen in any of their titles before or since -

I would take that figure with a pinch of salt because only a handful of very experienced players own them and we where talking about the ship minus the smoke...... because what we are now being offered is a smoke free ship(a nerf in itself) and ......... a nerf to what remains -

I would disagree, because if this was a Soviet line they sure as hell wouldn't be nerfing it and let us not forget that the 2 premium ships that are deemed too powerful to be offered for sale again are both.....................Russian. As for Wall's End it's England Newcastle -

Maybe it's me but reading what they are doing now, I know normalization is a buff, but I wouldn't say as a whole that's a package that screams buff by any measure.
