  1. I have to say it.

I really did not expect any sort of event like this, but I’m not only thankful but amazed by the details. The fact it’s only for the guys that are registered in Spain (like the one writing this and the Spanish community) is nothing short of astonishing.

Thank you! For real, this is great! Thank you so much!!

Canarias has AP with improved ricochet angles and short fuse time, which makes it very effective against lightly armoured targets - giving it a higher muzzle velocity would probably diminish the ship's efficacy as it would result in more overpenetrations (the shell having travelled further through the opponent's ship before exploding). A heavier shell weight and charge would probably result in more base damage which would probably be *too* effective. Apparently WG have tweaked other soft stats, though, so what you get in-game is close enough to the basic original gun performance while still giving "national flavour".

    https://forum.worldofwarships.com/topic/252313-premium-ship-review-canarias/

I had hoped for more damage and a flatter shell arc imo. Less damage than other 203mm, 180 and Nuren 150s is a freaking joke, and you lack all things except the AP.

Plus, if the enemy angles, you are toast. You either bounce or do very little, even with a full salvo.

  3. Title

Ingame, Canarias is listed as using the 256lb AP (AP shell weights 85kg ingame) with a muzzle velocity of 814 m/s.

However, according to NavalWeapons link here, the weight for AP is 116.12KG, with a muzzle velocity of 885 m/s. Why is that??

The ship is all about it's AP and frankly, is not enough. Why is it this way? How can WG claim they follow the history while having this pretty significant discrepancy??

  5. I really hope the captains are sold individually, but knowing how things play out usually, I don’t have much confidence.

Also still no Tirpitz commander and/or camouflage :Smile-angry:

WG I’m willing to pay for a full admiral pack with camouflage of her :cap_money:!

But please, make it somewhat reasonable and don’t make things only for boxes!!

Both speak spanish don't they?  And will probably sink just as fast

So I take you also consider Ark Royal and Lexington the same? They both speak English and they both sunk

Off topic aside, I believe that Dido should not have been butchered like that. The ship seems like a worse Rahmat, which I find ironic

Iwamis Hull has more in common with Nagato/Amagi/Tosa/Kii time and not a 30s design. It does not have the characteristic bow or the fat booty of a Yamato. Also the guns are duals and not triples.
First i thought Iwami got five turrets. Got confused by one structure on it. Its a fantasy late 30s/40s refit of a Nagato if anything. WG just talks out of their a**es and calls her a A-140... Its clearly not.

Sadge, would ve hoped for a modern Tosa, Kii or even a N.13.

    IJN_battleship_design_of_Project-13_class.thumb.jpg.bb298768080749c60b14dfc7fa44914d.jpg

Thats N.13 for example. Really interesting one with 4x2 460mm. Early 20 design, cancelled because of Washington treaty.

I really hope they save the modernized Tosa, Owari (Kii class) and the N13 for the IJN BC tree, with Tosa replacing Amagi in the slow line

  8. Canarias for me (I am Spanish, obvious choice)!!

Cant wait to see the potential tree we may get but….

PLEASE FIX THE VOICES!! NO LATAM SPANISH ACCENT IN A SPANISH (FROM SPAIN, EUROPE) SHIP

Sorry for caps, need to make that thing clear

True their way of thinking shows they have no clue whatsoever about how Sharnhorsts ended up with 11” weapons and why it happened in the first place, also by extension of that thought RN should have 12 or 13” well after all they went 15” to 14” with KGV class, only logical they would downsize no? :Smile_sceptic:

Btw the very fact the conversion turrets with 15” rifles were already in the pipeline for the Sharnhorsts should have been a clue…

I find it somewhat plausible in the case of the Pommern, but for tier 10, it makes no sense to use anything below 380s

I have to wonder if WG actually cares about the narrative they build up or just forget after posting the reasons. Kind of how “Super ships were made in a timeline where CVs did not win the race” while, at the same time, they added the new super CVs.

  10. So yet again, according to WG, the Germans go for low caliber guns because….reasons??

Can you guys actually have a bit of common sense? I had hoped that Preussen was the sign of things changing.

But nope!! Low caliber guns have to be the norm for the Germans!! And why not 38cm? You know, to actually be somewhat feasible after Brandenburg->Pommern? It would make sense to have 38cm, even 35cm guns. German 305mm is not a particularly stellar weapon

I appreciate the work and effort.:Smile_honoring:

But do we really need another clone?:Smile_sceptic:

Of copy paste ships we have had enough....

Remember that, even if a ship is based on something but has different stats or quality, it would not be a clone per se.

For example, AL Rossiya is different than Soyuz, despite being almost a 100% match to the tech tree A hull. WG could very much leave it as a more AA Littorio and call it a day, or make her a bit slower, less nimble, but with some tweaks. No SAP, no smoke, maybe def AA or some kind of gimmick and that’s it.

That tree is really nice, but imo, the top tier BBs should follow the trend of using Littorio-Roma kind of ships.

The reasons are many to be listed here but the main one would be the fact that, from 1939 onwards, the SECN (Sociedad Española de Construcción Naval-Spanish Society for Naval Construction) was ended, thus finalizing the UK-Vickers influence on future ship designs for the Spanish navy.

As such, I strongly believe that WG should go for improved, better Roma-ish kind of ships. My friend @manolojones is preparing a special post discussing the “Spanish Littorio” for this evening, so I recommend you check that if you have interest.

As  I expected. 2 real ships, one plan to buy from Italy and projects that never happened or were aborted at the design stage. The most complete line are DDs ...

I see that's the main reason for a Spanish tree ... ALL the minor nations had mostly DDs, coastal patrol ships and a few cruisers. So the Pan-EU line would have like 5-6 DD lines and a cruiser line glued together from all existing cruisers.

To be fair, that’s even better than the PanAsia CLs we just got. Let’s just check:

Cruisers: All the way to Canarias are both real, built and fought (Just a small tidbit: the name is Galicia, not Galacia) The remaining ones are real projects; the fact that the Amalfi and Bríndisi were designs for Spain makes easy for WG to pick the remaining design and making her a tier 8. The tier 9 could be a “buffed Amalfi” or a “weakened” Pr138, leaving the improved, modernized 138 for tier 10. For the tier 7 we need a fabrication, but that’s not uncommon in wows (see Harleem for example)

    Battleships: What I said above

Destroyers: Little to add to Kingping tree

You could even add CVs! But do we really need more?

As you can see, Spain can fill more branches, with more real built ships than even things like Dutch cruisers, PanAsia CLs, Soviet CVs and so on

  13. 1 hora antes, affie dijo:

What is the point of the European tree when even smaller navies (Spain & Netherland) are getting their own nations?

When will Sweden get their own nation since the major part of European tech tree is made of Swedish mostly historical ships?!

While I agree with on the fact that European tree should be properly named Sweden, there are still 2 ships which are not from there. So unless they actually rework those, they will stick to panEuro.

Also, calling small navies both the Dutch and Spanish ones seems to be a misunderstanding. Sure they were not world leading navies, but they still got much more action than some others.

I know this will not affect the most of you, and I'm really sorry to waste your time, so if u don't care just go to read the next thread.

Yes, our Community Manager, maybe the not very famous TheWarJac, announced us that he's going to leave WG, and that the CM position for Italy will be closed without substitutes.

The Italian forum will be closed too.

I know, italian playerbase is small, awful, low skilled, pizza, mandolino, mafia, switch side and so on.

    But...

The forum is a like a square or a bar, many people come and go, they exchange opinions and ideas. After all, the word derives from the Roman forum, which was the heart of every Roman civitas and where news were exchanged, business and commerce were done, friendships were established or welded, politics and controversy were made.

New players ask and learn, crying BBabies rant against DDs and all forumites name and shame about WR PR and skills..

Precluding places like these even if small are always low blows to the free movement of ideas and expression. A real shame also because it represented the square, the meeting point of a small town, but which was the center of that town. Using the English forum will be international and world connected, but do you want to put the flavors and also the miseries of italy for us italians in our language?

Too bad really, by now it had become a daily ritual to read here and there between our forum pages.

My days will be a little poorer... And sorry for my terrible italianized english...

    ad maiora italiani.

It also happened to the Spanish and Turkish forums so, coming from a Spaniard, all I can say is my best wishes to the Italian community. I can tell that this is something hard to digest, but what I can advice is for you guys to stay strong by sticking together.

IIRC there is a saying in Latin that reads: Ad augusta per angusta, which would seem something like “To the greatest through the most difficult situations”. My wish is that your community gets stronger because of this. Maybe you can create a place of your own.

My best regards and wishes for you all
