Hi guys, I have recently returned to the game following a two month break (waiting for the CV rework chaos to settle down) and am looking for a more competitive clan to join as a lot of the more competitive players that we had seem to have either left or stopped playing. If it helps at all I am totally a chick, I have got boobs and everything and definitely don't have a big, sweaty nutsack between my legs like one of those awful bloke-type creatures. My hobbies include watching NCIS and running through fields of wheat. As total proof of my absolute chickness here is a pic of me in a nice see through number. I do have a full-time job but don't worry that won't stop me from playing ships as I mostly spend all day tossing it off doing nothing.

Had this happen early this morning. The match started and the first thing we see in chat is one of our CV players saying "FU WG, 3CVs?" It was 5.20 am - what did he expect?

"Look at all those silly men running around chasing after animals for food. If only they did as I did and placed their hand in a fire for a few minutes, et voila, cooked meat that I don't even have to move for. Oh what idiots they are!"

So you already have all the advantages and near total immunity and you think a buff is in order???? I say give "gun bloom" to CVs - if you want to be able to strike anywhere on the map you should be seen from everywhere on the map for 20 seconds after you launch each squadron.

Can't you just ignore it? I don't mean "press some ignore button" I mean just ignore it.

This isn't the only bug, mate, I took Radio Location hoping it would locate a radio in my ship so I could listen to the shipping forecast on Radio 4 but I am damned if I can find the location of my radio.

Maybe your CV wouldn't last long but I'd put money on @El2aZeR's CV surviving. I'll give you one thing, though, you are good value for money. More laughs than "Live at the Apollo".

I hope you are paying attention @El2aZeR, you can learn a lot from this guy. Maybe, with his help, you will finally be able to up your CV game and get to grips with the class at last. I'm rooting for you, mate, as I know how much that would mean to you.

As far as I know, according to S_O, that is only for T10. At T10 there is apparently a soft-cap of 1 and a hard-cap of 2 Cvs. The other tiers still have to suffer because they don't want CVs to have to wait too long in the queue. If only WG had some kind of loading screen tip that said "If you are waiting too long in the queue try a different tier or ship type" it might prevent such situations...

Thanks for the reminder, I had forgotten about this. Yes, there does seem to be a bug as I had it happen to me yesterday. As you can see in the screenshot the last three ships are spotted at the map edge and yet I have the located notification despite the fact I was absolutely not the closest ship. The Atago, though indicated as "last known position" is absolutely where he seems to be - my div mate in the Perth killed him there seconds later.

@Beastofwar Also, if you are looking for DD tips there is one thing that at first may seem counter-intuitive but can really help with DD play and that is to forgo the upgraded Fire Control System on all but the dedicated gunboats (so mainly the Russian DDs). The reason being that it will increase your gun range and consequently your gun bloom so if you are shooting at a DD and he smokes you are less likely to still be spotted by any other ships that may be nearby. In most cases the extra range is not that necessary but in a few cases it can get you killed.

Personally I don't run Vigilance (the 3 pt skill you refer to) on any DDs, others might but I don't. In fact, I don't think I run it on any ship but I have a lot of game experience and so can usually anticipate enemy torpedo attacks and the direction from which they may come. As for Acceleration versus Rudder Shift mods, that tends to be DD specific. I don't tend to spend heaps of time sitting in smoke pew-pewing with my DDs (it blinds the rest of the team a bit too much) and if I do it is usually when I know it's safe to do so - ie, when other enemy DDs are dead and/or I know the position of potential torpedo threats. Again the ability to anticipate the direction of threats helps as I position my ship to minimise risk, so not sitting broadside in my smoke screen and never sitting stationary in it either. DDs with hydro can be used a little more safely in smoke but a key thing to remember is that a smoke screen is a torpedo magnet. DD play is far from easy and good DD play is quite heavily nuanced, it would be difficult to give blanket advice. I guess I learned by making every mistake in the book and getting killed in every conceivable way until I figured out how to avoid the things that got me killed. Edit: Basically what @DFens_666 said.
