    "Punishing" the cv player makes no difference for the surface ship, a few plane kills after his drop wont stop him from killing you, his planes wont stop coming, and you will have no protection. As for hydro, that z46 failed way before he activated hydro by getting too close/at an angle where he couldnt guarantee safety from torpedoes. On the other hand, it doesnt matter how well you plan your action before a carrier strike, you still stand no chance of stopping it, short of sitting in the middle of your teams aa blob, which just promotes a bad meta.

    Well dfaa doesnt even warn you, in fact it does nothing. Hydro gives the user the tool he needs to fully dodge torpedoes if he use it correctly, the same cannot even be suggested about dfaa and planes.

    This is something thats been bothering me for a while, wargaming have slowly been introducing more and more 50mm+ noses, thus slowly taking away the yamatos gimmick, which is the only thing its got except for its accuracy... With the addition of all these 50mm+ bows i feel like yamato is gonna become a bit lackluster.... I mean what does it really bring over a pobeda other than the overmatch?

    Sorry, i misunderstood you then, but in my defense i cant hear the tone of your voice or see facial expressions Anyhow, im used to so many people effectively arguing that carriers shouldnt have a counter, so i get pissed whenever i hear it

    aa cruisers wouldnt have to be immune to aircraft if plane kills actually meant anything. I posted a screenshot above where my team killed 200 aircraft and the enemy carriers where still throwing planes at me till the moment we won.... They were throwing planes at me after having lost 100 planes each.... Kinda makes me wonder why i should even bother shooting them down at all. Anyways, this dfaa change wouldnt make aa cruisers immune to carriers, only for like 30-40 seconds and then recharge the consumable for 1 minute+, all it would do is make carriers have to play around the consumable and be unable to just rush in with death by a thousand cuts, same as any other class in the game.

    If you are an aa cruiser with dfaa, you should be able to defend yourself to a drop, you are literally supposed to be the counter to carriers but in reality you cant do crap to counter them. If im in an aa cruiser and pop dfaa, i fully expect the carrier to have to abandon his attack on me and go find another target, then come back when my dfaa is on cooldown. Same as any other ship in the game, you shouldnt be able to just headbutt your counter with zero risk to yourself until it dies.

    *Literally any ship: Presses hydro and is immune to torps* And theres barely a single ship in the game that can achieve what you say with dfaa, that is pure made up lies. Possibly a minotaur with an absolutely max specced aa build, but that is far from a competative build...

    Im talking about the fact that only a few planes from the squadron actually attack at a time, and those planes are right now immune as they get insta replaced from the planes that arent attacking. The net result is that there is nothing you can do about an incoming strike.

    Destroyers have to play around hydro and radar if they want to get anything done. Battleships have to play around damage and destroyers. Cruisers have to play around battleships and cover. Carriers can just crap on everything. The fact that neither dfaa or fighters will stop you from getting dropped is just stupid. All aa does right now is get some revenge kills, which is completely useless, because no matter how many planes you shoot down, they will just keep coming in a steady stream until they slowly but surely kill you. I have a screenshot/replay of a game where my team shot down exactly 200 planes, and at the end of the game, there were still squads of planes steadily throwing themselves at me like some conveyor-belt.     Then make that not be the case when defensive aa is active, make the attack wing unable to refill while being targeted by dfaa. This would provide actual defense for ships equiped with dfaa, rather than just revenge-kills after the attack.

    Im not talking about torpedo indicator, im talking about the fact that wargaming explicitly stated that the trafic lights mod is fully legal, and even put it in their own mod installer. And no, aim assist wasnt a mod, it was literally in the base game... Wargaming put it there....

    Just gonna list some of the ui improvements made in world of tanks that came from mods: Damage log Hits recieved log Display of what type of ammo hit you Customization of side panels Last known positions on minimap Display of clan tags in-game Campaign progress tracker in battle Multi-row carousels Hit direction indicator Cap timer And probably a whole lot more, these are just what i remember of the top of my head. Mods are great for games as long as they are moderated, which wargaming mods are.

    That is all a bunch of [edited] tho, and youd know it if you have played wargaming games before. Nearly all ui improvements in wargaming games originally comes from mods, without these "cheats", the ui would be barely existent. Mods are available for everyone, just stop treating them as some illicit software, and treat them for what they actually are: Advanced settings approved and distributed by wargaming, made by players.

    Tbh this should just change, every ship should get some version of the torpedo indicator, as it does so much more than just aim torpedoes... Its just stupid that if a ship gets some really weak torpedoes, its main guns also gets buffed with much more accurate targeting. Can i just get a place-bo torpedo launcher on my yamato please? You can load it with twigs for all i care, i just want the indicator...

    The mod is very slow to update movement, especially when a target is moving slowly or switching between acceleration and deceleration. Relying on the mod in the situation you stated would be very unreliable, and probably slower than just looking at the ship, this is why i never listen to the traffic lights mod on slow moving targets. It is very useful for checkig the movements of some enemy you are unsure of, without having to go pixel hunting, but thats about it. Afaik wargaming should just add it to the base game, because it provides no tactical information that we didnt have before, it just stops us having to hunt pixels for no reason. There are so many good mods that makes the game so much less clonky to play: Hp bars in the team panels means i dont have to memorise the hp of every despotted enemy. Spotted indicators in team panels means that i can know which enemies havent been spotted at a glance, and lets me predict where they might turn up, and thus if i can push or not. Total health of both teams at the top gives me a different view of the battle than just ships alive. Score timer on the caps makes it easier to know if i need to just defend a cap, or kill someone to get a win. Etc etc, all this stuff should be in-game and turned on by default imo, as it focuses my attention to tactical decisions and predictions, rather than fighting the ui for information. Then again, if wargaming added every useful/great mod to the base game, the settings screen would get extremely cluttered, and beginners would have no clue how to use all this information and would just get distracted by it. Thats why we have mods to begin with, endless customization without taking up costly dev-time or confusing beginners. Its a win-win.

    This doesnt work if you want all your commanders to speak english, because when you pick that setting, the anime voices overwrite the english voice. The solution if you dont want anime or national voices, is to delete these two files in the Res_packages folder: World_of_Warships/Res_packages folder:- sound_mods_official.idx sound_mods_official_0001.pkg
