Could be a good change, but only if there was some visual feedback, like an icon above the ship that the radar is broken, because otherwise a destroyer cant utilize it anyways without just risking it and praying to rngesus. As much as i would love carriers getting a more supportive role, i have actually not seen wargaming say anything about such carriers. Would you care to link me your source?- 39 replies

As colonel pete said, the rating is completely meaningless. What you need to do is memorise strengths and weaknesses, of course you wont remember every number of every statistic of every ship, but something like this: North carolina has accurate guns and a punishable citadel. Conqueror has powerful he and a super heal. Etc etc, obviously you need to remember more things about each ship, and some ships require you to remember very specific things. But my point is that for most cases, its enough with rough knowledge of each ship, you dont need to memorise the specific numbers of every ship(with the exception of torpedo range, concealment range and radar range. These are some of the numbers that you absolutely need to know for every ship you face).

This autoaim stuff is illegal and will get you banned, but i think you seriously overestimate these mods. They will make a crap player better, but they wont do anything for an already good player, as it is more accurate to aim yourself, since you can predict what the enemies are gonna do in the future, the mod cant do that.

Do more damage. Premium account and premium ships help of course, but the bottom line of your credits problem comes from you not dealing enough average damage in your high tier ships.

Nothing wrong with quoting the biggest eu world of warships public figure to make a point. And yes flanking is extremely hindered by the carrier rework, which is very easily seen in the fact that we did not have the blob meta before the rework.... The evidence is literally staring you in the face, but of course your feelings are more important than facts. Anyhow, it really is pointless to argue with you, as you just put your hands over your ears and go "nananananana" to any argument, so ill just ignore you from now on, you are a waste of my time.

Blob meta is here because of rework. The previous meta was campy, but flanking and creating crossfires was rewarded rather than punished. You do not understand how metas are created, nor how they affect optimal play. Metas in random battles ALWAYS stabilize at the easiest counter to the current most influencing factor, which in the case of the current meta is carriers. Random battles meta never ever stabilizes as the optimal strongest meta, but the easiest one, because most players are bad, and there is no teamwork, nor will there ever be. How metas form in clan battles is an entirely different thing altogether, here you see optimal metas, rather than easy metas as you get in randoms. You are comparing apples and bananas. As for playing against metas, there is an old saying in wargaming games: "If you are gonna do something stupid, atleast do it together" What it means is that if everyone else is camping, you dont wanna be the single guy who isnt doing it, because you will get isolated, focused down and killed in minutes. You are more useful to your team alive.

Yes, the Russian ships encourages an aggressive meta, which is good because that is more fun. However, playing aggressively like that is just not competitive in the current high tier meta, and tbh, it wasn't competitive in the last meta we had either, but it was a little more viable than it is now atleast. The upcoming pobeda is actually the best meta ship right now, it can sit at max range with laser dispersion, and has no pushing power. It's sad, but that ship fits the meta perfectly

I mean the range and dispersion stuff isnt so much an issue with the ships themselves as with the current meta. If the ships had been released before 8.0, they would be considered much stronger, because their intended playstyle would actually be viable.

Wtf, from my clans experience, the tier 5 ru bb is the most broken op ship ever. And from personal experiences, the tier 6 is just as broken. Ive played two games in it, one at t6 while eating breakfast half sleeping doing 140k damage by playing really badly. And one vs tons of tier 8 where i did 120k damage and pretty much held the flank on my own. I really dont think these ships need buffs.

Love and peace is actually possible to discuss stuff with. I stopped paying attention to veslingr a long time ago when i tried and failed to explain basic statistics to him.

You cant really split this up between specific carriers tho, if one carrier gets a dogfighting mechanic, they all need it. Just think if a support carrier with dogfighting mechanics would meet a strike carrier without said mechanics, the strike carrier wouldnt be able to defend itself, he wouldnt be able to do anything for the whole match. Im all for support carriers tho, id love it actually.

Honestly, my ideal solution would be a middle ground. Keep carriers as they are right now, but give all the planes a forward firing aa-burst ability. This wont tune down the carriers strike power per-se, but they will be actively dogfighting eachother between strikes. Make carriers be the strongest counter to carriers like in the olden days, this way they actually add something to the match, and i dont think that surface ships would hate them as much anymore.

Im sorry but what? Thats quite funny coming from a reroll who only plays carriers, why dont you show us your real account? Im way better than you, and i actually hold my stats without resorting to just playing the currently broken class on a reroll account.

Yes, because all other classes in the game only gets one thread each. \s We have been through this already tho, and the mods agreed. Spam goes in the main thread, anything specific gets its own thread. This sounds pretty specific to me.

I have always wondered actually, what captain skills and modules do the bots run? Are they semi smart and run atleast concealment expert? Is there a survivability-expert yamato bot out there somewhere? Do they run secondary meme-builds? Do they even know what memes are? What is the meaning of life?

So currently def aa is extremely lackluster. It doesnt panic drops, and it doesnt protect in any way shape or form against air attack, as the first strike always gets through. So i was thinking, defensive anti air could have the effect of making anti-air target the attack wing, rather than the spare planes. This way defensive anti-air would offer useful protection that carriers have to play around, without actually making anti-air kill more planes. If this change proved to be an effective defense vs carriers, then fighter planes could be reworked to be less brain dead. What do you guys think of something like that?

Havent heard anything, but im hoping it will be tier 8 actually, there are so many vastly different interesting ships at that tier.

It needs adressing for the purpose of balancing, to bring carriers overall power in line with other classes. To fix the meta you need other changes, specifically to carrier spotting and the aa system. Maybe even give them a more supportive role(dogfight other carriers, drop smoke, hdyro boey, etc etc, so that they actually bring something interesting to the battle, rather than just be annoying) One does not come at the cost of the other, carriers needs both balancing and fixing. It really shouldnt be that hard to learn the difference between balance and reworking. Balance doesnt affect the meta in itself, but it is still important. -

It is proof that mostly unicums that play clan wars and ranked can get her. Maybe check my stats, i know how to play in the current meta, but i also know that it is the unhealthiest meta this game has ever had. This sentance proves that you dont understand statistics ^^ winrate on specific destroyers show that one destroyer can have more influence on the outcome of a match than another destroyer. If you take the avarage winrate over the average amount of battles of all destroyers in the same tier spectrum, you will arrive at a number very close to 50%, because anything else is mathematically impossible. Winrate over an entire class is meaningless, it is only relevant when comparing specific ships. Basic mathmatics, for every dd that wins, exactly 1 other dd must lose.
