You have had this explained to you so many times already, that it's pointless to do it again. It. Is. Innefficient.

He did blame himself if you watched the stream. What he also did, is point out why he torped and why he didnt expect the destroyer to do what it did(as it would have died even without his torps). That is kinda the point of his stream, he always explains why he does what he does, so that the viewers can learn from it. As for flaming potatoes, that is always a fun part of his stream ^^.

New "Yamato" 3D model also brought (unwanted) armor changes...

Wow, a well constructed dev answer that wasnt just "Working as intended". Im impressed, time to put the pitchfork back in the wardrobe. -
Yoshino 20km torps proving what they are best for.

So i got 50% over the daily limit in one game, and that was at tier 8... Cmon wagaming, let me grind a bit more than that please. I mean i know that difficulty gets higher the more a team wins, but what if the teams go back and forth? Then we are stuck with difficulty 2 as maximum right?
-
the limit of 500 points a day seems a little low....
thiextar replied to thiextar's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, i just hope that we dont get stuck in a loop where each team wins every other day, because then the difficulty would be maxed out at level 2. That would be very bad for our rewards -

thiextar replied to thiextar's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, but then you complete it in your first or second game and the rest of the games that day feels like a "waste". I mean yeah, i still play for fun, but it would be nice if i could still work on the event... -
You can, but yamato generally wants to be played at much longer ranges than ~11km
-
They would have to give those secondaries minigun rate of fire and infinite pen to make me play a secondary build yamato. Jokes aside, it doesnt really matter how strong yamato secondaries are, because the rest of the ship just isnt suited for close range brawling.

Dont have auto updates enabled currently, because im in my summer place with 4g net right now

Dont wanna start an all new thread for this, so just gonna ask here: There was supposed to be a 64-bit client in 8.3 right? Do i need to reinstall the game or pick some option somewhere, or will it just automatically install the 64-bit client for me?

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
thiextar replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
Also, however you change it globally, there will always be armor thresholds that are more valuable than others, and if a ship passes enough of them with ifhe, its always gonna be a no brainer to get it. A global change wont change the nature of ifhe "get or dont get", all it will achieve is to shuffle the deck, which will just make it annoying to memorise everything again. -
trust me, DONT buy that soviet container!

Or spend 10 minutes cutting a lawn and earn enough to do that with free xp instead of gambling.... -
In wargaming games, you get xp from two main sources: Total team xp, and individual xp. I dont know the exact ratios, so for the sake of it, lets call it 50%, but in reality this is a much more complex algorithm than a set % either way. 50% of the xp you earn, is divided among your team, and the other 50% you get to keep for yourself. So since the enemy still has loads of hp left, your team hasnt maximised their xp, thus you get less than the winning team. This gap becomes even larger with the 50% xp bonus for winning a battle.

Thank you all for the advice! After having read it all, i think i will recommend principat121:s build since its the most secondary focused build here that at the same time doesnt give up too much on other aspects, such as survivability. Also, ill forward your targetting and playstyle recommendations to my friend. Cheers for the help

priority target allows you to know when you are targeted, how many are targetting you, thus lets you know what options you have. If more people are targettting you than are spotted on the map, it tells you how the enemy team us moving and where there is likely to be ships. Based on how many are aiming at you, it lets you know how you can position, how much side you can show, how agressive you can play. If you can use all guns or front/rear only, which direction you should face etc etc. If the number goes down, then up, it tells you that torpedoes have been launched against you, etc etc etc. I value priority target extremely highly, because it provides sooo much information. I would still take it on many ships if it costed 4 points.

Worild of Warships or "Dungeons and Dragons with ships"?
thiextar replied to aph_73's topic in General Discussion

That is the most complex way to possibly express that, but yes ^^
-
Actually, if someone has done the math, would you mind making a thread that simply explains what to do to maximize rewards?
-
Lets all pick honor so we can sway that into winning so we dont have to care about teams :D EDITED: I first wrote glory, but honor should get more players as it is the first choice, more players always tend to go for the first option available, so honor should have the advantage.

depends on the ship really, but i wouldnt want to go into tier 10 battles with anything less than 14 points, so thats probably a pretty good lower limit. That said tho, its great to get a 19 point captain as quickly as you can, because he will earn you elite commander xp, which means that you will get your next 19 pointer faster, and the one after that even faster etc. After you have a few 19 pointers, you can pretty much get 19 pointers in any ship that you want very easily, and never have to bother with retrain periods again. I have certain ships that i like to play alot, so i spend mu elite commander xp like this: 1. always have 1 million elite xp laying around for unforseen needs like skill reset/retrain 2. Use my elite xp to get one captain at a time to 19 points, always prioritizing my most played ships, and making sure i have atleast one 19pt in each nation i play. Also i run restless fire camos and xp/commander xp flags on all my 19 pointers to further boost elite commander xp. 3. Repeat until all the ships i care about have 19pt captains(which is where im currently at) Also worth mentioning that when i grind a line, i always move the captain up the tree with me all the way to tier 10.

Well, im not a wargaming employee, but according to chrysantos, yes, apparently there was a hardcap of what you could get during those two weeks(1 sc and 5 ironium drops during the entire event), which they conveniently forgot to mention in the news post

Naval Legends in World of Warships: Yamato

What should they nerf in order to fit these buffs in? -
Cheap or expensive camo ? Consumables ?
thiextar replied to Beastofwar's topic in General Discussion
Just use all the free camos that gets thrown at you in this game, they all give 3% detection and 4% dispersion, with eco bonuses aswell. They never run out because you get them all the time from events and missions. -

thiextar replied to Beastofwar's topic in General Discussion
You dont need to buy any camos, you get enough camos and signals thrown at you from missions and such to never run out, and they provide economy bonuses. You should however always run full premium consumables, it would be a massive disadvantage not to.
