Please stop closing every carrier thread.
thiextar replied to thiextar's topic in General Discussion
This game has never been realistic, my idea would probably be to give all squads forward firing machine guns, and some form of strafing capability. -

You are right of course, this thread was just created to pass along a wish to the moderation team, and as that's been achieved now, you can close it if you wish. It was never meant for CV discussion anyhow, although I might make a thread later based around some implementation of dogfighting, I think it could make carriers less toxic and more fun/technical to play, by giving them another job than just harassing surface ships. -

I would actually love a solution that makes carriers interact more with each other and less constant harassment of surface ships. I do however feel like if any carrier gets dogfighting capabilities, all carriers need it. Otherwise if one team got an aa carrier, and the other got a strike carrier, the strike carrier would just constantly get his plane shot down with no way to defend himself. If we bring back dogfighting, that means that carriers become the major counter to carriers, this would make them much more enjoyable for surface ships without actually nerfing them, they would just have another job besides spotting and damage, which is to defend the team. (deja vu pre 0.8.0) but it would still be different than old carriers because it would still be action based and only one squad to focus on. -

Honestly, I'd say just give all squads a forward fire aa brust ability = carrier vs carrier dogfight -

Link me to a carrier thread where you didnt just post your same-old "Dont nerf carriers" opinion. Because what i see in every single constructive cv thread, is someone having an idea, and you jumping in there with no constructive feedback on the idea at all other than "dont nerf carriers" It would be perfectly fine if you responed to the specific idea of the poster(even if that response is a disagreement, that would still be a constructive post). Also, you do realise that all of these carrier related ideas wouldnt actually be nerfs right? They are more about making carrier gameplay less toxic to all the other ship classes, not about straight nerfs, for a completely hypothetical example: Say wargaming takes up the idea of making carriers unable to spot, if this would lead to carriers becoming underpowered, it would have to be traded off in other areas. So if spotting is nerfed, something else is buffed to compensate. The biggest complaint that people have about carriers isnt related to them being op or not, its about the interaction between planes and boats. That interaction can be changed without overall buffing or nerfing carriers. -

We are not vilifying you for having different opinions, i perfectly respect your opinions, and would have no problem at all with you guys creating a thread about what you like with carriers, hell it would probably make a good change. What i do have a problem with however, is that you refuse to hear any opinion that isnt yours, and want all discussion that you do not personally agree with to be censored and hidden away. Seriously, any time anyone tries to discuss anything carrier related, the one thing that is certain, is that you will come into the thread, put your hands over your ears and go NANANANANA until the entire thread is derailed. I challenge you to link me to a single carrier thread where you didnt do this. -

The moderator certainly saw it differently. Anyhow, as the guy above said ^^ Dont feed the trolls, this thread has already served its purpose, and you two eggheads are kinda pointless. -

implementing delayed spotting. Removing fighter spotting for surface targets. Several different version of a line-of-sight implementation. Suggestions of future changes to aa skills. A few completely different aa rework suggestions. Feedback on current effectiveness of certain aa skills. Feedback on the carrier rework as a whole(Which fits great in the cv rework thread) And a million other specific ideas (good and bad) of how to change carriers. -

So you didnt read my opening post then... This thread has nothing to do with suggesting anything about carriers, its about future moderation action. And anyways, a moderator has already taken it to heart, so im perfectly happy with this thread. *edit* -

You do realise that you are probably the biggest reason that cv threads with actual good ideas gets derailed right? Take this thread for example, it was originally about wishes for future moderation action, but you turned it into a one-man carrier crusade... -

That can be said about every other class in game, yet we discuss them dont we? Also it is a statistical fact that tier 10 carriers are overperforming. Over-performing things are generally nerfed. -

Sigh.... Its obvious that wargaming can specify what spots what. Thats why radar doesnt spot air, thats why air spotting and surface spotting have different ranges, because they are seperate auras. The fact is that it would be super simple for wargaming to make fighters unable to spot surface ships(Most likely just changing a simple parameter in their class) I get that you dont think its a good idea, but you not thinking is a good idea doesnt mean that its hard/impossible to implement. -

So wargaming already has a way to specify what gets spotted by what... You literally just massacred your own point... -

Because air spotting and surface spotting are literally already two different statistics in game? -

thiextar replied to thiextar's topic in General Discussion
Well, if people are saying it everywhere all the time, maybe they are right? Anyways, the point is, you cant discuss such a massive topic in a single thread, so basically what you are saying is that you want carriers to just not be discussed, at all? -

Yes you can. No they dont -

Then should we just have one battleships thread aswell? And one cruiser thread, and one destroyer thread. Great now we can remove topics altogether and just post in those. Actually, thats just too many threads, lets just have one "World of warships discussion thread" instead, after all, we dont need endless threads on the same topic... -
Also for future reference, that section of text under the title is tags, and they are mostly there for the forum search engine(which no one ever uses). If you ever need to hide a body, put it in the world of warships forum tags.

Is it fair for the larger clan to always win Naval Battles?
thiextar replied to Vattle's question in Q&A Section
Honestly, you will have a lot more fun and gain from a big clan anyways. Especially as you would be able to play clan wars, and interact with tons of people and such. Anyhow, naval battles arent always won by the bigger clan, but this balance by diminishing return wont work on clan sizes below ~15ish- 13 replies

You also get a bonus for winning tho, so you need to take that into account
-
Yup, also the fact that cruisers and battleships are efficient in completely different positions. And the fact that aa ranges ware nerfed so cruisers cant really do fleet escort anymore. And dont even get me started on dds...
-
My solution right now is to ask my clan mates how the scores are looking before i pick a team, because i dont think its possible to check them before picking right?
-
The problem cv-wise is that they have no real counter, aa cruisers are supposed to be their counter, but even a fully aa-specced Minotaur cant stop a drop...
-
I've adapted by not playing destroyers anymore. Sure I can make them work in the new meta, but it's no fun, and ill do much better in a cruiser or bb, so what's the point?
