    Armada: California

This. Little White Mouse has posted a savage review of this ship which you can all see for yourselves and she's a self-confessed USA BB fan girl. It's so bad I've no idea why WG actually took the trouble to put it together. Seriously, take the time to read the review ... it has graphs.

an idea for the CV spotting problem

A slightly less polemic argument than before, but why would I have evidence of anything? The 'fun' and 'socialising' elements I speak about are qualitative, so have no figures attached to them. What one player likes, another hates. I don't see any problems in the Random queue if they are balanced on the enemy team by the same number of same-tiered Divisions. One Div on two Tier VI ships against an enemy Div of three Tier VIIIs is obviously not optimal, but that's lazy MM on WG's part as they pander to Ritalin kids who cannot wait 60 seconds for a quality gaming experience. And how do you know why I or other players play in Divs? Can you read minds or is there a thread somewhere on the Forum containing all of their malevolent gloating? You're quite wrong as my usual Div is three players from the UK living in three different countries, so no - it's not about shredding players but is about the socialising I mentioned. Which is why I mentioned it. When all is said and done, however, WG has addressed this issue many times and even quite recently. They simply say, "Division up!", as they see this as a game built on cooperation and teams, not as a solo endeavour.

an idea for the CV spotting problem

Wow! This is one of the worst suggestions I have ever seen ... ever. After WoT tried to do the same thing by stuffing Platoons at the bottom of the MM, they lost 50% of their player base in a single year. After that they compounded the problem by implementing the legendary 3/5/7 MM. End result? Massively reduced player base! This is a game which is meant to be fun. A major component of the fun is socialising, yet you want to take that away. Not the best of ideas, I fancy. Do you have any evidence to back up your '95%' claim? The reason I ask is that if it is true, how is such a tiny proportion of the player base divisioning up making any difference?
  4. Good point! I own the Kurfürst and enjoyed playing it the past, but now it's just a Port Queen which gathers dust due to HE spam and Soviet wunder BBs which shrug off both primary and secondary batteries. That being the case, if the grind for these tokens is anything apart from playing the regular game, why bother?

    0.9.4 - Submarine battle

In 'professional' Clan battles this will, of course, happen. The team is all communicating on Discord, are accustomed not only to their own roles but also those of their team mates, and will be experienced into how the holistic style of their tailor-made team comes together. In Random Battles? How on earth WG thinks a bunch of afk/42% win rate/ADD kiddies/serious players are ever going to gel together I will never know. Keep subs to KoTS for a while to see how things work out, but forget Randoms. Please note I am not attacking the mechanics of the subs but rather the fact that the players themselves are the problems. WG big wigs, as ever, seem not to play their own game. Crysantos can bang on about team play to his heart's content in the weekly propaganda stream, but it will simply never happen in the Random Battle queue and what percentage of the player base uses this game mode as their primary interaction with WoWs? WG is crafting a pro-level upgrade for a game where 40% of Tier X battle participants were stingy/stupid enough to take non-Premium consumables which necessitated the step of taking such a (seemingly) simple decision out of the hands of the player base by simply forcing everyone to take the same consumables. I am extremely concerned that the introduction of subs into the game is simply going to re-create the CV problem of old whereby the skilled players will have a massive influence on the game as their counterparts on the enemy team lick islands and guarantee a loss for their own team. Nothing to do with the interesting idea or the mechanics of the gameplay, everything to do with the player base.

WoWS x Warhammer 40,000: Imperium vs Chaos

As a long-time 40K player I'm interested and the price tag won't break the bank, but as you say what's in the boxes? Shoddy communication as always, WG!

    0.9.4 - Soviet Cruisers

I genuinely sympathise! I have just finished the second set of directives a few minutes ago and opened 11 crates … ELEVEN … from today's gameplay for a staggering total of 85 Tokens. So, after two weeks' worth of Directives, a Twitch mission for 3 extra crates, the Daily sign in bonus and reading the News items I am still well shy of the necessary 300 and am sitting at 250. Just why bother? I'll bag the Tier V and maybe the premium camo for a ship I'll never earn through tokens. Before some WG shill turns up, no - I don't want to feel demotivated by failing to reach the second ship when a banquet is visible. Three weeks to get the Tier V and then the pressure is on to get the crates from the mission available from that … it's not fun! Remember that word, WG? Cue white knight/WG employee to make inane comments about something not related to a paying customer talking about qualitative fun.

    0.9.4 - General Feedback

I have just finished the second set of directives a few minutes ago and opened 11 crates … ELEVEN … from today's gameplay for a staggering total of 85 Tokens. So, after two weeks' worth of Directives, a Twitch mission for 3 extra crates, the Daily sign in bonus and reading the News items I am still well shy of the necessary 300 and am sitting at 250. I do agree with you that the RNG could be toned down a bit … but WarGreed won't.

Why can't I buy the Tallinn?

Lucky you! I have just finished the second set of directives and opened 11 crates … ELEVEN … from today's gameplay for a staggering total of 85 Tokens. So, after two weeks' worth of Directives, a Twitch mission, the Daily sign in bonus and reading the News items I am still well shy of the necessary 300 and am sitting at 250. I wish I had your problem!

    0.9.3 - Matchmaking Improvements

This is the next thing for WG to stop pretending doesn't exist: radar disparity. Not often but occasionally it's zero radar versus a couple on their side. Often it's Russian radar with superior range versus nerfed Yank radar boats. Write one line of code and have the radar-equipped vessels divided up between the teams and once that is done make sure the Russian fantasy boast are similarly distributed. It's not that hard, WG!

Update 0.9.3.1: Hayate for Free XP

Yes … a DD! CVs, numerous radar, spam 90 kph torps and coming soon to a cinema near you … submarines! Anyone want to cough up 2M Free XP for a DD right now? No? How strange.

Well, if it really is as simple as that (watch an interesting video and get a code) then kudos to WG! :-)

Being pinked ... after my warning in advance

20,000 battles and you post this? Never, ever: Fire torps from BEHIND your own team. Fire torps to a place where your SLOW-MOVING allied ships could sail into. Post on the forum WHINING about your own surprising level of incompetence after so many battles. Your torps are your responsibility and your team is quite understandably looking towards the enemy, not at their allies behind them where a DD is inexplicably camping and danger-firing.

    0.9.3 - The Strong-Willed Campaign

Hi, WarJaC! How can you say it is, " ... a reasonable amount of time … ", when the campaign is still open? That means you haven't seen how many players managed to complete it within the time frame. I was in the Beta and am only now on the final Campaign (Halsey) as I work full time and am a father. I'm very happy with the various campaigns and their rewards - please don't get me wrong - as I can play them at the slow pace I can manage with my professional and personal commitments. That is a big plus for WG in that these campaigns were fun in that I could chip away at them secure in the knowledge that they wouldn't disappear on me. However, I'd like to hear the number of hours a day you believe to be, " ... a reasonable amount of time … ", given that students have to study and adults have to work. I'm not being snotty! I appreciate the campaign and will see if I have time to know down this new one. I enjoyed doing the old ones. I just see no reason whatsoever to put any time limit on any campaign, however. How does this add to the fun or the convenience? It doesn't, I'd suggest. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the matter, WarJaC. Happy battles!

    0.9.2 - European Destroyers: Part 1

    1. For the first Directive, I bagged 120 tokens from the four crates whilst my Clan mates were all using the Visby. 2. For the daily mission crate I received a whopping 10 tokens and right now I pocketed 40 tokens from the sign in bonus. SO I am now sitting pretty on 170 tokens after six crates. 3. Well done to you and I really hope you'll end up enjoying them, but how? At this rate of token drops from the crates I'll manage the Tier V and maybe the Tier VI. Another wet-towel special from WG.

Results: Help a Friend – Win a Ship!

Er … no? I read up on the rules and you are entered into a draw to win one of a very few ships. Why go to all the effort of recruiting (a.k.a. doing WG's job), playing with newbies at boring low tiers, trashing your win rate (if you care about it) and all for the return of a 0.0000000001% chance of a ship. So, no - not, "Nice!".

    How It Works: Semi-Armor-Piercing Shells

Okay, but that means grinding ALL the Tiers in order to access a single good ship at Tier X which even then might be 'adjusted' at some time in the future if your words are anything to go by? The video is good as it can help players to understand what's what in WoWs - more of these, please, and kudos to WG for producing them. However, the proof is in the pudding and I'm not seeing many of this nation's cruisers. Possibly because DDs are very rare in top tier games nowadays which serves to make the SAP less useful. You can talk these ships up, but if they are rare and your customers are choosing other nations' vessels then you know it is because they are unattractive to compete with. One Tier X cruiser does not a nation make, Crysantos!
  19. britinmadrid

    How It Works: Semi-Armor-Piercing Shells

Either 'cross your fingers' or 'touch wood', is it? The players don't like them or play them because you created the HE spam meta and SAP cannot compete with those readily available ships.

    British Cruisers: Obtain Cruiser London

I couldn't agree more! All the Forum suck-ups who wish to either white knight or try to be made a Moderator by sucking up need to read the above. Dozens of hours of grinding, millions of credits lost, poor commanders and no Premium camo … all on the roll of a dice. How is this motivating, WG?

    British Battleships

This! WG is a business and will charge whatever people are stupid enough to pay. Fair enough - standard business practice across the world. Solution? Save your money and buy DOUBLE the vessels in the sales that come at summer and Black Friday. Plus, if everyone closed their wallets those sales would come more often. Anyone who buys a bundled ship is probably (not always) wasting their money.

    British Battleships

Being a Brit, I have bought a good many of the historical British ships including the Hood. I did so more for collecting them than for playing them, but do use them regularly in Randoms and Scenarios. I picked up my Hood for about 17 Euros if memory serves, not in a bundle. I play it. I enjoy it. I have better-than-average stats in it. I don't recommend HMS Hood for this price in a bundle. It can be difficult to use and there are easier ships out there to play at cheaper price points.

0.9.0 - British cruisers: Early Access

I genuinely feel for you. I suppose a few people will get a ship at the very end of this event, but so many hours for that? I got nothing from the French BBs or DDs and nothing from the British DDs. I can honestly say next time I won't bother grinding - it's simply not worth it. Very poor, WG!
  24. britinmadrid

You have tried, but it doesn't work...

You can control your CV directly when not flying planes. Otherwise, you have to use the mini map. WG have stated that this is not going to change unless I missed something

Huge DD nerf might be coming for patch 0.9.1

    1. I'd say a good many will mount this new module as some of the new Swedish torps travel at 85+ knots. At least in the beginning people will feel the need to protect themselves, especially in slow-moving BBs. 2. Your second point is valid, of course, but how can this game marry together DWTs and ultra-fast torps? I'm not convinced it can be done.
