Having played Wows for several years, this is by far the worst experience I have ever had with any ship. Completely useless piece of crap. Nice accuracy -yes. But it does not penetrate anything, played the bloody crap a whole day without a singelcitadel, despite broadside at 15km at a Mainz and at 17 on a non-moving Kii. 36% fire chance... sure, in your fantasy. Again, having played the ship an entire day, I managed to start fires two times, despite changing to HE for the three last games as the AP didn't produce any effects. The ship is complete crap, you can penetrate it from any angle with almost any gun. Given the slow speed, you cannot run away and if you try to sit in rear and fire at extreme ranges, then the enem y can sail to the other side of the map before your shells land whre the enemy once was... The shells have an arc that passes above the moon before they re-enter the hemisphere again. It is just an enormous waste of credits, time and resources. Better then to free-XP your way to the Vermont, if that is what you are looking for. But for Heaven's sake, do not waste your resources on this crap!

Dear all, just noted that, taking my Zao for example, without a commander the detection range is 11km. When I add a commander with the Concelament Expert skill, the detection range increases to 11.4 km. This happens both with and without WG approved mods. Can someone explain this to me?

Detection range with commander INCREASES...

Thanks, I had totally missed that! -
Remove that He/ Fire spamming Pro Soviet premium crap totally please!
-
And in order to get through the first campaign's final task, you just have to get one of the Soviet HE clicker-spamming prem over-powered ships for a crap load of real money... 18 fires in ONE game... sure. Or 18 citadels... yeah. What normal player will ever do that? By luck perhaps, a few will. I stopped that campaign right there. Just pure BS, as usual by WG.

Can someone explain to me, preferrably someone who owns the Swedish DD Småland , why I should waste TWO MILLION FREE XP on a ship that has inferior stats to the Tier X Swedish DD that is going to be launched pretty soon and that is about 25% as expensive, as it comes to XP?

Hi hive, just got the Midway legendary upgrade unlocked but cannot see it available/ mountable in the port view. It is in the Armory but not in the port view. Have I missed something? Yes, this is my first unlocked legendary module..

[PSA] An apology for poor event presentation and a bit of spreadsheet
Clickfinger replied to Sehales's topic in News & Announcements
The good thing with the idiotic Puerto Rico event/ grind was that it made me rediscover my long forgotten board games! Far much more fun than spending a crap load of money to fill some greedy Russians' pockets! Avalon Hill's Bismarck and Jutland were up and provided far more joy than trying to farm 3 million base XP in some ridiculous event. And I saved a lot of cash as well, to be better invested in other board games! I guess the 2019 X-mas Event was rather an internal WG event, going something like this: WG Internal Directive 1: - Make the player base believe you have an awesome event coming up Reward: 10k new premium days bought by players 100k USD into the pockets of WG (100 USD bonus for all employees) - Make the players buy a crap load of camos and flags Reward: 25k signals and camos sold 150k USD into the company (150 USD in personal employee bonus) WG Internal Directive 2: - Create an awesome looking event, like building a ship Reward: 20k X-mas containers bought Another 50 USD employee bonus - Make players believe it is obtainable by everyone Reward: 75k Ship Build boosters bought Another 100 USD per employee in bonus WG Internal Directive 3: - Hide the real difficulty in the in-game directives Reward: Less than 10k complaints filed Free cakes on Friday - Create a non-committing apology, without apologizing Reward: Some players might actually believe it Some more ignorant fools pay for premium boosters WG Internal Directive 4: - When hit by a massive critique storm, refuse to reply Reward: No need to compensate for the failed event Lots of cash in WG pockets, free vacation trip to Yalta, all expenses paid -
Have the same issue since last evening and gone through all those remedies but nothing helps here
-
There is absolutely no chance for a normal player to get it. You need to pay a lot, about 100 to 200 USD as the grind to get it for free takes more than 16 hours a day for a player with extreme skills. This is just another way for WG to say "we want your money", not you playing.
-
Have the very same issue, the loading screen remains black and nothing happens. Have opened a ticket but guess nothing will happens until well after the holidays..

0.8.11 New Year event (collection, snowflakes, directives)
Clickfinger replied to TheWarJaC's topic in Archive
This Pay the Rico event is graphically the best I have ever seen but the execution of this holiday event was little else than a robbery in best Wild West style! Totally ridiculous grinds combined with laughable rewards - a single flag etc. What capital crap was this? Clearly the worst WG greed I have ever seen and still obviously there are some (have seen five or six of the Pay the Rico's so far) who are willing to fill WG's pockets - amazing! Good lucking fooling people to buy your" boosters" for gold and then realize that you are not even half through getting the bloody pixel ship... -
IMO the Soviet cruiser Smolensk is way understrength and needs a heavy buff! First of all, it has too few smoke charges and they last too shortly. The smoke can also be penetrated by radar, which should be impossible when it is a Soviet ship using it. Further, its radar range is to short, should be about 20km's and have a duration for at least 5 mins, with a cool down of less than 10 secs. Its rate of fire is laughingly low, it should be a constant stream of HE coming out of the guns, with no reload time and ofc, totally invisible. The shells should also be able to go through mountains, which is totally realistic for a Soviet ship. They were, after all, totally superior to anything the rest of the world could build, especially the Americans and the Germans! Instead of AP, Smolensk should carry nuclear/ uranium ammo, so as to be able to bow penetrate any BB, even at extreme range. Its torps should also have a bit of the Shima range and power, plus a reload booster consumable should be standard issue. Further, its repair party should be in the same class as the Nelson's, at least. So WG, please buff the Smolensk so it becomes fun to play! Don't bother about the others, who don't have it, they are just complaining noobs!

Research Bureau: New Rewards for Leveling Up
Clickfinger replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
As a casual player, I just cannot find anything interesting in this. Having spent years to get to a couple of Tier X ships, I should now sell them and their upgrades for a net 50% LOSS?? And then start over from scratch, paying full price for every upgrade? Not a chance I will do it, not only one time, but FIVE TIMES, to get the Colbert.... A BIG NO-NO for me! -
All this work for nothing....! Thanks for the answer!

Since the update I have a totally blacked out screen. I can hear the loading/ port sounds in the background but the screen is pitch black. Have done reinstallation and contacted the so called support that just comes back with standardized and unusable answers. No mods installed. Any ideas what to do/ similar experiences?

Maybe I am just having a strike of bad luck but it seems that game balance has changed very much like it did in WoT… Battles used to be pretty balanced in WoWS but now, very often, it is just about one team totally wiping the other out of the water, while losing a maximum of two or three ships. Is it the CV fright that causes one team or the other to get into one, stationary clump and just get obliterated? Or what? Yesterday I had like a 20% win rate, despite doing a good deal of damage in most games, though not in all. Today so far not a single win... Just the whole team getting wiped out in 4 minutes or so.... Totally losing interest in this if this WOT trend is here to stay..
-
I do look at my own performance, but no matter how badly or well I play, mostly in the lowest tier ship in the team, we still lose all ships vs 2-3 in the other team. Last match, in a T X game and I in a T8 DD, middle team performance, enemy team wins 10 kills to 2, on points. All on our team just cluster in two separate corners. I know I am a quite an average player and far from being a unicorn, but recently this really sucks...

Can only agree. CVs were bad before but now they are even worse.

Since the last 4 hours, I cannot log in to the game. It just freezes after having pressed "connect". A common problem? I can log in to WOT, so the fault shouldn't be here.
-
1. Description Haven't been able to log in for 32 hours and still no reply from your so called support service. Once I click on "connect". a waiting cursor starts and NOTHING happens. 2. Reproduction steps1. Clicked the WOWS icon on desktop 2. Clicked "Connect" 3. ResultThe log in screen shows a waiting cursor that turns and turns and turns... 4. Expected resultI cannot log in and play - Once I was actually logged in (after like 40 mins waiting) and then the game froze upon viewing the after battle screen. 5. Technical detailsStarted early morning on the 26th. Before that I have had no issues logging in. I can log in to other games, including WOT and the WOWS forum.

Completely useless things ATM, am very glad I put my free XP into Missouri instead of this pile of crap. But of course, WG is Russian and the ships are German. This is becoming like the tanks in WOT. OP Russian tanks vs German vessels nerfed into oblivion. Only got the T2 DD and that's the end of the story. BTW, it has more or less the same detection range as the Zao, a Tier X Cruiser! LOL LOL LOL No more German DD's. BIG BIG disappointment WG!
-
In general it sounds good, the only thing I would advice against is having to destroy/ kill a set number of ships as a requirement, as it may provoke kill stealing and people holding back to get the final kill instead of concentrating on team play (if any such thing really exists in these games....). It would be better, IMO, to have a bonus if you kill X number of ships, but that you can still complete the mission without actually killing 4 etc ships yourself.

What are the consequence of too many "plays poorly" reports?
Clickfinger replied to Hikaru_Shigeru's topic in Newcomers' Section
The only effect I have noticed is that your "Karma" value goes up and down but that has no practical effect. I reckon this is WG's way of having you to let off steam when you are upset with someone and then you report instead of cursing him in the chat... However, it makes me a little bit less angry when I can report someone for that instead of calling him names in the chat. The reporting system here is somewhat better than in WOT, where (out of five report types, IIRC) you have four alternatives that has to do with WG's economy... -
Still, it's much more civilized in WOWS than in WOT. I reckon that it partially might be because you tend to like one game or the other; few play all three WG games very actively. The reporting system here is indeed better, or less bad, than in WOT - there you can only report people (more or less) for monetary things that could steak money from WG .. (selling Gold etc). Here you can actually compliment people, not just report them for punishment. For most of us, I reckon the bad language is a sign of frustration, but if one wants to get more serious play/ teams, I think the Ranked Battles or the Team Battles are better places to be in. Random is random, and so are the players that show up there. Random number of good team players and random number of kids, idiots, morons, d..k heads etc etc. Most are nice, but in every team there is at least one or two with very quick fingers and little self analysis.. And I not seldom find myself being an idiot as well..., but when I realize it, I usually try to make it up and send in some compliments as well. We are normally very good at finding faults with others, so I now try to make a compliment to someone in each battle - enemy or friend. There are always good players who should be complimented, not only bad ones to report.
