What i think you mean is the little triangle (iirc) that displays the exact center of where you aimed your manual drop. That has always been the same and was never changed. Yes, it can be annoying if you try to adjust your manual drop and by chance end up clicking on said triangle, resulting in no change whatsoever. Wasn't changed ever, but does indeed need an overhaul. Get used to it and how to avoid this "feature" and you're good to go as i do not believe WG will change anything about this anytime soon ;)

edit: 94,068 fire damage in the Zao. That ship is just amazing to slowly boil the enemies, constantly...

This was from a ranked battle... Killed 6 out of 7 of the enemy team and we were down 4 ships. Even got a double strike out of it because i torped a BB and killed a DD with my guns at the same time. Glorious battle.

Finally managed Rank 1 too yesterday, i didn't play in Season 1 at all, so had to climb all they way up from rank 18 Here's my screenie: All battles from rank 10-1 (apart from maybe 3 in the Fubuki) well spread over my NC / Mogami. Grats to all the others reaching rank 1 this season and to the ones still trying: good luck and keep at it, the rewards are worth the frustration [Not to mention i grinded (ground?) basically 50% of my North Carolina and about 75% of my Mogami with these ranked battles and earned tons of credits. After i got Rank 1 I had 36 mil creds for a few minutes ]
