    still a long way, since i currently lose all matches my teams... well... they just die pretty fast despite me usually ensuring air superiority and the enemy carrier coming out with 90 xp *g* well, the bogue... i will first go for the two fighters one dive-bomber setup, because that suits the intended role. want to see in what amount i can influence the game then

    amiga 2000 =) first experience with games.. of course all in english and without manual, and i was a 8 year old boy who wasn't able to understand a single word. but it helped a lot to be curios what all this buttons may do guess those experiences got me used to never giving up ;)

    no, i don't really want that, because i like the matches as they are right now. i like beeing able to sink more ships in one battle than were lost by a whole navy in a whole war. i like the arcade approach of having a 30% hitrate with my BB, and not beeign forced to micromanage listing. these things are realistic, but [edited] for a fast pacing game such as world of warships i just used this examples to counter the onesided suggestion list that would almost exclusively have hurt carriers, posted by pellegrino some posts above. his suggestions were also realistic, but detrimental to this game. suitable for a naval-warfare simulation, though

    seriously, i have been criticising rng and also cv's during closed beta and beta weekends quite often, but the amount of sheer idiocy surging against well thought out game mechanics since the start of open beta makes me their fiercest defender...

    yepp, as well as i was enlightened that i am suprisingly the worst carrier player in this game, 'cause i have never ever ever sunk a random bb in my first run in any of my games in tier 4-5 carriers. since it is by your observation an undisputable fact, that carriers do this, i bow before you, almighty god, since you are able to change the underlying rules of mathematics itself btw: since at the place where you live, 4 times 6500 equals 55000 or more, may i come to that fabulous place, too? want to bring the last 4 month of my salary with me and add them in this magical place, would be rich =)

    are fights between other ships less dependant of nation and tier, if you put aside tactics (you can trick your enemy with ships or planes into a disadvantage)? the gap between the carrier tiers is steeper, sure, but its not "impossible"

    have some of the shells you shoot at enemy ships be duds make turrets malfunction (gun elevation/reload broken) by themselves from time to time lower the accuracy of guns to 3-5% make carriers able to be outside the map, they never were THAT close to the enemy a cruiser should sink after only one torpedo hit sometimes give only limited ammunition to all ships, especially those that hunt cv's (aka dd's) after 100 shots, the barrels should malfunction or at least loose all of their accuracy (down to 0.5-1% hitrate) see, i can write [edited]-suggestions, too =) edit: of course, you are suggesting realistic stuff, but it would make other changes for more realism neccessary. do you really want your bb slow down to half speed after one torp-hit, because it ripped open your torpedo-bulges, causing massive drag? do you really want to be unable to shoot your guns, because you cannot counterflood the listing anymore? at some point you have to sacrifice realism for a better game-flow

    the problem you describe reminds of this: but, yes, maybe the younger generation needs some more tutorials to get shown the possibilites, because they are not used to it anymore to do that by themselves (no offense)

    this shows in my opinion a really good carrier fight. we were able to render the enemy carriers useless by taking out their fighters first, then shielding our fleet from their torp-bombers. meanwhile, we sunk both enemy carriers. it was on new dawn, so it took us 11 minutes until both enemy carriers were on the ground of the ocean. as you see, in those matches the carriers have very little influence on the outcome of the fleet-fights, we were outcapped on this domination map and unable to get even one further kill (enemy carriers aside)

    azell, forget it. it comes down to the case were they tell us that they are not capable of doing what we do easily: avoid torps by enemy cv's they say: impossible to avoid we: just avoid them since that is no base for a discussion, i guess its futile to argue with those dudes. they don't want to believe the fact that you can avoid torps

    ok, sorry dude, but i have to shatter your lovely little world. i got attacked in my new york by two jpn carriers, tier 5 zuiho with full strike setup and hosho. 5 torp squads coming at me at the same time, dropping their torps in a criss-cross pattern, and i fucked up and was completely alone without support by cruisers. they needed three runs to sink my ship. three times 20 torps. during that time i killed 3 enemy cruisers. i think it ok to get destroyed by focus fire of two enemy players while beeing able to take out 3 enemy players in the meantime. i really don't think that carriers do too much damage, cause they did never too much damage to my ships and nope, it is not possible to hit a dd except if he wants to get hit. absolutely not. i guess i would have a hard time vs players such as pape, but if i really focus on evading, he won't hit me in my DD

And cruisers with HE basically everything is OP. also, its very interesting to see that all those guys attacking cv-players are not even discussing the ideas of how to tone down tier 4-5 carrier effectiveness. i mentioned a reduction in torpedo damage for tier 4 and 5 in several threads, and in each thread several times, but i never ever got an answer. when arguing against a longer drop distance and giving the argument, that even a BB would then be able to avoid them with 100% reliabilty if the BB-player presses the "A"-key for more than 20 seconds, i got no answer all i have to read is the same BS again and again and again "cv killed me so remove them" well, again: luckily i am playing a complete different game than you seem to be. while your matches are always completely determined by MM, mine are never.

    weird how cv players play vs other cv players then if there is no skill needed, what decides the outcome of those fights? toss of the dice?

    if we would not want to get them taken away, posting in the forums is certainly not helping ;) wargaming may or may not be aware of this threads, but in the end they just look at certain numbers: average damage done by tier 4 jpn CV, average ship sunk by them, average dmg recieved by other ships from those CV-torps, hitrate of the torps fired by cv's etc. if they are not satisfied with those numbers, they will make some changes. and no, neither you with your onesided point of view neither "we" with maybe also onesided point of views will have any say in those changes. maybe the supertesters get asked, but nope, not you and i ;)

    even with a decent population, it needs some improvements. MM was just set for the first time to try to make fair matches ;) in closed beta, it was completely optimized for fast matches. the transition will need some time and constant adjustments

    1) taking a look at how many enemy JPN DD's i have to constantly monitor with my fighters. second thought is: meh, damn MM 2) Yubari, CL's with fighters because they decimate my planes rather effectively / prevent me from attacking with torpedo-bombers at all. and all JPN DD's 3) when i am the only cv in a game: mostly on top of the list. when i have to fight an enemy cv of the same tier: at the bottom (if he manages to kill me) or in the middle (if i manage to kill him, but end up with half dead squads and thus low damage) 4) enemy cv's at place one of course, since they are the fastest to get to me. second place goes to sneaky DD's, because there are always gaps in the lines. 5) none, if the enemy team allows it, i can wreak havoc in any shipclass. but i prefer battleships since rely the least on the mistakes of the enemies.

    42k players in the open beta a few days after it started is kinda cool, imho. especially in the summer when people have better stuff to do instead of sitting all day long at their computers *g* but i guess you don't want to hear that, eh? so, please continue to try talking it down further *grabs some popcorn*

    yepp, i would say this is a fail happened just now? that would be an indicator that mm needs improvement when handling those funny queues (only bb's) edit: ah, i found the reason: tier 6 platoon and no other tier 6 available in the queue. mm could not match them, so it threw them finally in a game nonetheless same problem as with cv's right now, MM needs more players in the higher tiers to avoid constructing those kind of crap. may i show you the door, then? or do you intend to spill out more [edited]?

    yeah, but look at your tier 6 - 8 ships, how much money they make oh, you don't have any then how do you know how much money is "too much" or "enough"?
