But you can attack, wait for him to repair flooding, attack again and watch him flood for full duration. You have faster torps, lower torpedo arming time and therefore you can effectively hunt destroyers and cruisers. While hitting destroyer with USN TB group takes lot more skill and is nearly impossible with low tier (=slow) planes against good DD player. And on top of that you have faster planes and much shorter plane servicing time (3 times shorter). IJN midtier CVs with 3 torpedo bombers are huuge overkill, 2 TBs and fighter will be much better balanced. Also just for your information, USN CVs have to wait until tier 9 to get second TB squadron. Everyone in their right mind uses 1/1/1 loadout from tier 5 to tier 8 included. -

In the end, I don't even know why we have this discussion, we all agree that strike decks from T5-T8 have to go and they are going away in 4.1. What I don't like is the fact that they are making multiple changes at the same time. Instead of doing one change, evaluating results and doing another change. This is how they were changing CVs in CBT and it worked well, why now all of sudden they have to completely change fighters, loadouts, servicing times, torpedo arm distance and so on? And what happened to their famous national differences, USN CVs being air-dominance oriented CVs? That suddenly completely changed? CV captains were asking them to get reasonable fighters to IJN CVs... no no no, we have national differences. And now IJN CVs got fighter decks? wtf? -

And don't forget that CVs will get even more deadly in 4.1 since someone thought it is a good idea to display where exactly will torpedoes get activated - therefore removing significant portion of required skill from manual drops. -

average exp includes premium account bonus - which already makes this metric irrelevant. Also every good IJN CV player "abuses" the exp-reward system and focuses DDs and CAs first, because he will get ton of exp for that. edit: I would agree that generally average exp would be nice way to compare classes. However the fact that someone is using prem. account and therefore gets much higher avg.exp - and it is recorded in these staistics is rubbish and fail on WG's side. It should be base-exp only. Also keep in mind that current exp-reward system also favours DDs, this is a reason why they can be competitive exp-wise with other classes, because they can easily remove 100%-0% hp quickly, they are burst damage class like CVs. -

Look at T5 and T6... And values from SEA server clearly showed that T7 BBs are underperforming, but for some reason that wasn't addressed in 4.1... -

oh really? should I remind you these tables from SEA server that show dmg done by each class as percentage from team total? -
The got AA defensive fire skill, if it works same way as it works for Cruisers, it multiplies DPS of dual purpose guns 6 times (9 time in total when primary target selected).

Nice charts, however completely irrelevant since everyone knows that CVs are outperforming in terms of EXP-income due to how the exp-reward system works and favors burst damage classes. -

I have 78k dmg in Kuma, 64k in Yubari (and just started playing Phoenix, but enemis are dying too fast ), that is more than what most of average players have in Hosho. And I don't think I would have much more in Hosho now, I played it right after OBT with no real opposition. -
You should keep in mind that USN CVs have more planes per squadron. Everyone in their right mind will use 2/2/2 on Shokaku now. Also keep in mind that Lexington is using 2/1/1 deck. Which means 12 fighters in sky vs. 8 from Shokaku. I didn't run the math, but I am pretty sure that Lexington will still win (his fighters have also slightly more hp). Also keep in mind that this DPS change means that fighter duels will be slugfest, they will last for some time, more factors can influence them (like friendly AA). And don't forget that new fighter AOE skill, this is what will decide fighter battles. I didn't try it yet, so I can't complain, but to be honest, I don't like the idea of one-click button to 'rule them all'. Especially when this skill can massacre multiple squadrons. I don't find using one click (skill) to decide the battle anymore skill demanding than current click on enemy fighters and wait. Edit: excuse the mistakes - sent from my phone

Haha, destroyers suck terribly.. lets nerf them even more. Sarcasm aside, I know that this is indirect nerf, but holy cow, this will hurt DDs the most, as CVs are able to outmanouver enemy ships anyway (or just find that one donkey that is completely oblivious), but now even donkey that sails in straight line for 10 minutes will be able to turn faster into DD's torpedoes.

Ascender, did you have chance to test that fighter AOE skill? Because these fighter DPS values are pathethic, pre-0.4.1 fighters had 120/148 (midway/haku) DPS. Does this mean that plane-to-plane kills are now all about this AOE skill?

It is not the worst performance that I remember, it is the fails that resulted in our defeat that I remember the most. I had one game like that yesterday and I was really angry at what I did.

don't check AA rating, look at number of guns, range and DPS and compare it to pre-0.4.1

Damn, I won't be able to get into the game today Can you also post DPS of USN fighters? btw Lex is T8 and Hiryu is T7 :-) But I don't understand why T8 should have higher DPS on fighters than T9 and T10, are these "top" (upgraded) values? Currently T8+ fighters are like this: Shokaku has 90(26)/96(23) (stock/top fighters) DPS(ammo) of fighters, Taiho 162(18)/148(17) and Haku 148(17)/148(16) Lexington 84(31)/126(23), Essex 126(23)/120(23), Midway 120(23)/120(20) Did they also mess up with planes HP? Because the values you posted mean huge DPS nerf for fighters. Could you please post/screenshot stock/top fighter values after 4.1? edit: also seems like nice buff for Haku... pre-0.4.1 it used to be stock 2/3/2, 1/3/4 and 4/2/2, but most players used stock 2/3/2.. now you can use 3/3/2, that is one extra fighter, nice.
