Update 0.4.1 - No 3 TB squads until tier 9
DtXpwnz replied to Leonadios's topic in Aircraft Carriers
Currently the only used deck on Midway is 1/2/2, because... it is obvious, you need 2 TBs. End of dicussion. Hakuryu is more versatile. You can use current 1/3/4, which is nice, because you have traditional 3 TBs and you can split DBs into groups of two and use them in waves to start barbeque on battleships (2DBs can attack alone BB, if you use only 1, it will die before dropping bombs), 1 fighter is not enough to defend you properly against enemy CV though and you will need assistance from team. Other option is stock deck (that most of good players use), 2/3/2, you have your main offensive power of 3 TBs, but 2 fighters mean that you can survive on your own against enemy CV (with some border hugging) and if he isn't going after you, you can disrupt his attacks quite well. 4-2-2 is also viable option, but you are loosing lot of your dmg potential, not worth currently imo, stock deck is better. This will change with 4.1, Haku's strike deck will be change to 2/3/3, which is great... it is one DB squadron "for free" when compared to stock deck that majority of good players is using. It won't help Haku that much, because like I said, 1 DB cannot go alone against BB and there is little to no difference between attack with 2 or 3 DBs. But hey it is free squadron and more squadrons in the air = more fun. -
If experienced Omaha captain meets experienced Furutaka captain, Furutaka will loose so badly that it is not even funny. Omaha can citadel Furutaka just as easily as Furu can citadel Omaha. But good captain will not show you his broadside and Omaha will just sh*t on you with its DPM.

A pak konečně přijdou dobrý a zábavný CV... Essex a Midway.

All of these HE spamming cruisers play more or less the same. Stay at range where you can maneuver and dodge incomming fire from enemies. Shoot HE at battleships and set them on fire, once they repaired focus on setting them on fire on multiple locations. At 12km and less always load AP against enemy cruisers and just citadel them and kill them in 2 volleys. Use AP even against St.Louis, you can citadel him with plunging fire, but AP volley into his side will still do more dmg than HE volley, even without citadels. Torpedoes are weapon for desperate situations, you should never think of them as your main weapon. You have to get too close to use them, 6-8km is a zone where you will get owned by BBs and to guarantee hits you need to get to like 3km and less, where you are oneshot once he can see your side. If you see DD, head towards him and kill him with HE. Allways head directly towards him or eventually away from him to avoid torpedoes (I prefer heading towards him as I am decreasing the distance and he cannot escape), DDs are easy exp pinatas for these cruisers. Target priority: DD(HE)>CA(AP)>BB(HE)

Any news on when the skillships will be nerfed? (CVs)
DtXpwnz replied to fenrirspup's topic in General Discussion
You don't have to tell me, I bough Bogue yesterday and first map was Ocean... Not sure how I will survive playing these 1/1/1 decks (1/1 for Bogue). -

DtXpwnz replied to fenrirspup's topic in General Discussion
That is your personal point of view. For me sailing at detection range limit and firing torpedoes once they are reloaded and hoping that enemy is a moron that won't turn is the most boring gameplay that I have seen in a long time. I personally find CVs most fun to play and most skill demanding. Sharana: Ryujo was fun, it was real power creep though. -

This. So far WG patch info is really bad and could as well look like this "we changed stuff". -

DDs are imo extremely weak. They are noob-bashing class. And even the biggest noobs are now realizing that turning little bit once every two minutes is a good idea. You will never sink a good player with a DD, unless he really screws up. So all you can do are area denial and smoke team protection shenenigans.. great. And you are exp pinata for everyone, since DDs are juicy exp. And now compare that with the fact that it is the most boring ship class to play...
-
Exp reward is based on how many % of ship total HP you removed. Therefore hitting destroyer for 5k and taking away 60% of his health is two times more rewarding than doing 30k dmg to enemy BB and taking away only 30% of his HP.

You can earn them "for free" for obtaining achievements in battle. There are some rare ones, but most of them can be earned easily enough.
-
You should be able to keep track of who is hitting you and with what shell type. If you are aware of what type of damage you received and how the repair party works, you should be able to work with the repair ability just fine. Not a fan of dumbing the game down. Keep the advantage for players that are interested in the game and know how the mechanics works.

My best is 9 in Shokaku, got also 8 once, couple of times 7. I would like to know if someone actually got 11/12 ?

Guide how to comprehend posts from Luckyio Read following quote, check his in-game stats with carriers, check stats of some good CV players, never again read any post from Luckyio. -
Another removal of skill from the game? Exactly what we need.
