only ship I ever stop in is a dd I use it to ambush enemy as they come round a island but i never use this tactic when enemy aircraft are near because you are spotted easy and the dive bombers eat you alive

talked to a few carrier players and they all say they get games within a few mins so it cant be the wait that's a problem if carrier players are having a long wait then can they please post this problem and ask wg for a fix (I don't play carriers as I am totally useless with em) -
I loved the south Carolina and played it in battles mainly with a platoon and my other platoon members hated it guess its a bit like marmite

its screwed with cv mm its awful for the teams without a cv and the enemy has one but its just as bad when its 2v1 cv and when its 1v1 with one of them being higher tier its just as bad cv is simple to mm in my opinion its a case of both teams have same number cv and both teams have same tier cv

the game is very laggy at the moment with so many new players on and wouldn't be surprised if it was something as simple as that then again as my wifey says "beer you know nowt when it comes to computers" so I could be wrong

never said a team that was superior shouldn't win look at it this way your "team" had 2 ways to win and they didn't accomplish either of them now does that mean they should auto win anyway because they where playing better? i personally don't know but we have to work with what wg has given us and make a win from that i have been on teams that have had more kills and done more damage and still lost due to the enemy capping and winning (yea its as much my fault for the loss as the rest of the team) i have also been on a team and won when i was the last ship alive and we had got all the cap points and enemy was too busy chasing me and trying to kill me than think about cap i don't have many cap points due to fact i play way too aggressively and usually end up dead too early but i can and will cap if needed we have cap to win and kill all to win and your proposing more options which i admit seem good ideas but when will it stop? the team shot the most, hit the most, travelled the most, killed more bb ect ect (i know some are stupid but stupid people will ask for it) maybe in the future once the devs see how many games are draws over a set time they may decide to change win formulas but i doubt that will happen for a long time

if it went down to team with most ships win then too many battles that get to 4-5 will turn into a lets run and hide and wait the game out so we get a win games that end in a draw like above are down to a team that should have got into the cap area quicker but like most games on the open map everyone sails to the edge of map and engages each other at max range for far too long leaving the timer to tick away till its a draw take it from me you don't get half as many draws now in obt compared to the cbt and I don't think I have had a draw yet in obt whereas I had in my 1300+ games of cbt a 5% draw rate read the map more and when you see timer is running down get to the base in time to take a few cap resets and get capping the enemy base and you will get less draws

detonation is so rare the flags to stop it are hardly worth using devastating strike on the other hand will happen a lot due to dd having the ability to do high damage but you need skilled dd players to see it happen more than a couple of times a game -
last night was the first time since it went 0.4.0 that I never had a game where one side had a carrier and the other didn't hope the game has finally sorted itself out now that more players are playing carriers

does it really help though? to me its simple if someone fires HE I know it because of high module damage and the sweet sexy fires they do and if they fire AP I here the nice sounding ping of a bounce yes you can angle the ship for AP but after the first round hits you should know what you are getting hit with

the tier 10 fire fighting crew are actually made up of homer simpson clones running round screaming "it burns, it burns" before you finally burn to death and wonder how on earth your fire fighting crew got the jobs they have -
come on pal you only ever play cv with a few other games thrown in and you tell him to l2p lol instead of telling him to learn to play how about you play the other ship types yourself then find out the best way to deal with a cv and then give him this info as it would benefit him and others a lot more than moaning at people to learn to play ps I don't play carriers cos I am old and useless at doing multiple things on screen at once ie setting up multi drops

I agree a good bb captain does avoid most torps but even a good bb captain cant avoid a good carrier captain who knows how to do multiple drops from different angles at the same time to stop the bb captain being able to take good effective avoidance measures and will get hit by a lot more than 1 or 2 torps then thankfully the good carrier players are a bit thin on the ground at the moment so the above situation only happens now and then

sailing in a platoon and sticking near each other does help and you may kill a aircraft now and then but the problem with platoons is the game sticks the members of them at each side of map way too often and you cant spend half the game just trying to group up to op: stick with it pal because once you get to tier 6 you start and see cruisers who can actually provide aa cover and bb who can now defend themselves a bit and the aa just gets better and better

most aa tier 5 and below has a range of 2.5km max so you aint ever gonna stop a torp run on you but it does stop the dive bombers sometimes staying together Is below tier 5 a waste of time due to short range of cruisers who need to close to enemy and the aa they have as said above isn't much use a cv with no planes can still take part in the game ie cap, ram other ships or spot them or even better if you stayed close to your bbs then close up to them and give them some aa cover because cv have some of the best aa in the game but it hardly ever gets used I feel carriers at the moment are too few and you end up with way too many games where it is below tier 5 and only 1 side has a cv and this is kind of game breaking due to fact the cv can stick his fighters anywhere he wants to spot and nobody can stop em and they also have a free run at firing torps at whovever they want due to the poor aa when more players get into the game that like cv then hopefully the problem will be solved due to fact the cv will have to fight each other and worry over their planes getting shot down by fighters the game is still beta and I accept that these problems will arise and hopefully will be fixed or solve themselves soon

if you see a plane do a wiggle and drop down to surface then torps are defo coming from there as for dd always presume he is sending torps at you and take action by sailing away if possible or trying to keep your stern to the dd so you spot the torps and can take action once you spot em whatever you do though try not to sail too close to the dd by turning into the torps as a nice trick that some dd players will do is fire half of the torps from 1 side and wait while you turn to em then torp you once you are close to the dd if you are gonna get hit and cant help it try and get hit in your torpedo belt if you have American battleships or the warspite

game was better before they nerfed the hell out of ap and made he too powerful all people do now is spam he and you get way too many fires and way too many rudder or engines knocked out I also see how cv got nerfed to death because a few people complained and worry the same will be done to torpedoes when it goes obt because the new players will moan like hell over them certain lines are now being left behind because better ships are available in other nations ie American destroyers and japan battleships and as for carriers hardly anyone plays with em now either because they are boring or due to fact they are nerfed to death -
Torpedo ranges on low tier Japanese DD-s

speed is the main factor with torps as soon as someone spots your torps going for em the faster the torp the less time they have to react and evade 10km torps are nice for controlling corridors ect but are useless when your closer to the enemy and you need fast torps that the enemy cant evade I love my sims and play it as a anti dd role and find jap dd are useless to it due to fact the sims has great turning speed, fantastic guns and fast torps even though they are short range -
support other players and let the ships with more xp and health take the hits while you try and get into torpedo range the yubari torpedoes are very good I try and play the yubari like a slow destroyer and concentrate on using torps more than guns but remember it does not have as good camo as a destroyer and you should be ok

atago for me I have got the Atlanta in the cbt and although its a good ship it has such short range it makes you vulnerable to anyone who sees you at 12km and turns away from you and spam you to death without you being able to hit em the high tier japan cruisers are nice and versatile and the torps give you the chance to face of against bb even if your the last few ships left and you are 1v1 or 2v1 ect unlike the Atlanta which will struggle to take on any bb unless you surprise em when coming round islands ect and manage to fire your torps that have a awful short range I must admit though I don't fear any dd players in a Atlanta and it shoots down planes for fun
