Wait a second there. Even up to T8 (personal experience) you are not dependent on upgrades. Nice to have but absolutely not neccessary. Especially at lower tiers without much basic gaming experience, you do not need upgrades. Of course they are expensive, but they are meant as long term improvements for "keepers". Just look at the basic ship progression, then you are more than fine.

NA and EU server are not shared at all... maybe your friend used his NA WoT account for WoWS NA servers? You need the right client for your region.

If you are experienced player and do not waste your Free XP and creds, you can typically immediately jump into T3 or T4 in a new line of ships.

Saved a friendly DD today by firing a spread of torps from second line, directly behind him, taking out the CA that just evaded his spread and was going to blast him from point blank range. So, there are options where second line spreads work.

No, not a bug, working as intended. The guns behave a bit like one big gun with several sub-reloads... so only thing that works a bit, preselect other shell type for next reload and wait for the full broadsite before you fire.
