    fair point still dont explain why they should be able to do this it becomes unavoidable/unrepairable damage when you have 6+ fires in 30ish seconds as for other nations spamming HE every battleship i have looked at has a HE fire chance above 25% Bretagne Tier V (french) =26% Queen Elizabeth Tier Vi (UK) = 36% Myogi Tier iV (japan) =25% Bayern Tier Vi (germany) = 35% even from other nations 25%+ is a lot 1 in 4 hits sets you on fire if you land a full broadside of 8 shells on average you will set 2 fire's based on just 25% fire chance. it needs to be like 10% not for bb's 18-20% for RN bb's
  3. a little hard to see but the whole team with the exception of 1 cruiser and a battleship were basically acting like they were allergic to the cap points the games boarder-line impossible to play with teams like this i know my 61k damage ain't great but we only killed 2 of them what are they all doing. best part is they were complaining that i wasnt capping b in my lexingtona

    why not HE spam its OP as hell just got set on fire in my NC by a max range conq first salvo 3 fires, thats a lot of dot damage so i put it out asap next salvo 3 fires again so im taking massive damage to fire start a repair next salvo 4th fire and thats me screwed no defense against that. chance of fires from BB shells needs to be reduced to like 10% max not 35-40%

  6. i know its only tier 3 but unless its drummed in to them at a early tier this will be the norm when they get top tier i mean yes there losing but only because half there team sat on the 1/2 lines all game

    So between attack dolphins, sealand tower achamedies death ray and flying saucers have WG taken leave of there senses? i know the 1st of april is closing in fast but personally i prefer my april 1st pranks to be a surprise the amount of work that went into creating these they could have done something awe inspiring like fixing the cv balance or making cruisers worthwhile

    CV’s ??

    I do like playing CV's, i have strong views on CV's and would class myself as average. The biggest issue i have is kinda the opposite i watch dd's go sailing off into the distance then demand air support while getting called every name under the sun. Problem is i got a whole team that requires support, who do i help first i got a cruiser getting hammered by red BB over by A got 2 dd's in C capping but getting bombed by red CV and 2 red dd's in B capping. sorry dd's i cant help you, red CV's got his fighters there ready to intercept my fighters, yes i might win the fighter fight but by the time its over your gonna be dead or i am gonna have so little fighters alive i wont be every effective. in this situation i see the dd's that rushed off alone as lost i focus by strike on the BB and try and save the cruiser over by a while keeping there dd's lit up for the team if i can. basically "skill" works both ways you might be a crack shot you might be able to judge perfectly where to aim your torps but if you go alone without any support you will die 9 times out of 10 Mid-Tier CV's are always gonna be a massive pain in the arse (correction not needed mods as i am describing a body part) especially at tier 6 why because thats when they get manual drops they basically need to completely learn how to play carrier class again, is that there fault? no wg choose to change it. it would be like you being a cruiser player only and doing really well and buying a tier 8 premium BB you need time to learn how to play a the bb, its the same between tier 5 and tier 6 carriers. of course we get some great cv players that drop down to tier 6 for a bit of fun/seal clubbing that makes the other cv look like a awful player when in reality the unicum of the other side is just being a Richard (not sure i can say [edited]).

  10. the point they have more fighters in the air regardless is a mute point really the fact is with the air supremacy skill they have even more fighters in the air than you arguing on the DB's you have a point though thats a self defense weapon yes there harder to kill and might take a fight down but the squad will still get wiped by fighters
  11. I have played a fair share of battles now in a CV, and my stats in a CV, ain't to bad. Granted i am no expert and there are still times when i forget to order my fighters to engage because i am busy lining up a torpedo run, but with that said i do see a massive difference between the way cv's from other nations hold up which is backed up by the average stats of the ships them self(all stats come from wows-numbers.com). below i have listed the stats of all CV's green number means top of its class compared to its rivals, red number means bottom of class. Tier 4 Hosho: Nation: Japan, Win Rate: 52.55%, Average Kills: 0.87, Average damage: 39,351, Average EXP: 763 Average Planes Destroyed: 7.73, Kill/Death Ratio: 2.57 Langley: Nation: U.S.A, Win Rate: 48.69%, Average Kills: 0.56, Average damage: 26,878, Average EXP: 702, Average Planes Destroyed: 10.2, Kill/Death Ratio 1.22 As we can see at tier 4 the Hosho dominates the Langley in every department apart from aircraft destroyed. Tier 5 Zuiho: Nation: Japan, Win Rate: 52.56%, Average kills: 0.88, Average damage: 43,182, Average EXP: 943, Average Planes Destroyed: 8.36, Kill/Death Ratio: 2.64 Bogue: Nation: U.S.A, Win Rate: 48.44%, Average kills: 0.46, Average damage: 24,203, Average EXP: 858, Average Planes Destroyed: 13.93 Kill/Death Ratio: 1.01 Apart from planes destroyed the Zuiho trumps the Bogue hands down, almost a 20,000 Damage difference at Tier 5. Tier 6 Ryujo: Nation: Japan, Win Rate: 51.54%, Average Kills: 0.76, Average damage: 41,235, Average EXP: 1098, Average Planes Destroyed: 9.54, Kill/Death Ratio: 2.87 Independence: Nation: U.S.A, Win Rate: 48.91%, Average Kills: 0.53, Average damage: 30,404, Average EXP: 1046, Average Planes Destroyed: 13.26, Kill/Death Ratio 2.01 Again apart from planes shot down the independence is dominated in every category, the most interesting thing i find is the tier 5 Zuiho beats the Ryujo in terms of damage and kills yet earns lower average exp guess shooting down planes does award a decent portion of exp which might explain why the exp award is so similar for the Ryujo and the Independence. Tier 7 Hiryu: Nation: Japan, Win rate: 51.09%, Average Kills: 0.85, Average damage: 49,097 average EXP: 1192 Average Planes Destroyed: 15.65, Kill/Death Ratio 3.75 Kaga(Premium): Nation: Japan, Win rate: 55.68%, Average kills: 1.23, Average damage: 64,140, Average EXP: 1351, Average Planes Destroyed: 15.18. Kill/Death Ratio 5.56 Ranger: Nation: U.S.A, Win rate: 46.99%, Average kills: 0.69, Average damage: 42,294, Average EXP: 1147, Average Planes Destroyed: 16.31, Kill Death Ratio: 2.07 Saipan (Premium): Nation: U.S.A Win Rate: 51.29%, Average kills: 0.72, Average damage: 42,556, Average EXP: 1371, Average Planes Destroyed: 20.31, Kill/Death Ratio: 3.83 I think the first thing that stands out here is the Kaga with 64,140 average damage and a kill death ratio above 5.5 is more than over powered compared to the Ranger more than a 20,000 damage difference and more than double the kill/death ratio. The ranger's win rate vs the other three CV's in its tier clearly shows its under powered, Where it currently sits is bottom of class in 5 of the 6 measures and excelling in none. Tier 8 Graf Zeppelin (Premium): Nation: Germany, Win Rate: 48.37%, Average kills: 0.69, Average damage: 46,790, Average EXP: 1305, Average Planes Destroyed: 15.53, Kill/Death Ratio: 3.07 Shokaku: Nation: Japan, Win Rate: 51.68%, Average kills: 0.86, Average damage: 56,651, Average EXP: 1315, Average Planes Destroyed: 16.30, Kill/Death Ratio: 4.58 Lexington: Nation: U.S.A, Win Rate: 47.27%, Average Kills: 0.75, Average Damage: 52,116, Average EXP: 1229, Average Planes Destroyed: 15.75, Kill/Death Ratio: 2.98 Enterprise (Premium): Nation U.S.A Win Rate 53.39% average kills 0.89 average damage 64,311 Average EXP: 1418 Average planes destroyed 18.15 Kill/Death Ratio 5.75 The enterprise at this tier clearly dominates its rivals top of the class in every department, yet interestingly its average damage is still less than the Kaga a tier lower than it. Where bottom of the class is split between the graf zeppelin and lexington. Tier 9 Taiho: Nation: Japan, Win Rate: 51.97%, Average Kills: 1.18, Average Damage: 82,652, Average EXP: 1460, Average Planes Destroyed: 18.25, kill/Death Ratio: 7.38 Essex: Nation: U.S.A, Win rate: 47.07% Average Kills: 0.97, Average Damage: 72,116, Average EXP: 1346, Average Planes Destroyed: 20.81, Kill/Death Ratio: 4.67 The Taiho Trumps the Essex in almost every area the exception being in planes destroyed Tier 10 Hakuryu: Nation: Japan, Win Rate: 48.43, Average Kills: 1.3, Average Damage: 98,179, Average EXP: 1657, Average Planes Destroyed: 20.26, Kill/Death Ratio 7.42 Midway: Nation: U.S.A, Win Rate: 46.74, Average Kills: 1.21, Average Damage: 94,838, Average EXP: 1759, Average Planes Destroyed: 27.35, Kill/Death Ratio 6.92 While the gap between these two is smaller the Hakuryu does come out slightly on top in terms of damage and kills yet earns less exp, interesting. Looking at all of this information there is only 1 conclusion i can come up with Japan CV's are out performing there U.S.A counterparts at every tier if we don't include premiums. Speaking of premiums the Kaga appears to be OP as hell in its current tier. The Saipan while only getting 3 fighters in a squad there tier 9 fighters with a captain with the extra fighter skill that is 4 tier 9 fighters per squad with the 3 fighters 1 mega-dive bomber squad that is 12 tier 9 fighters vs say a rangers 6 tier 7 fighters (7 with captain skill). Even the 2 fighters 2 torp bomber set up the saipan decimates any fighters in encounters with retaliative ease. The Graf Zeppelin Could do with a slight buff as it like the Lexington are under performing at its tier compared with its rivals The Enterprise well what can we say about this famous and iconic ship.....its over powered at its tier is what it is best in class across all measured factors.

    i dont get your point press R to stop flooding..but you don't want to in case of a fire? how is that any different for a bb? bb gets torped they start to flood they press R flooding stops they get spammed by the super fast fireing cruisers and now theres 3 fires burning away all your hp battleships have the exact same problem apart from there bigger and easier to hit. wanting to remove flooding from the game because you dont like it...nope not for me
  13. after having a little think about it i think i may have spotted where the balancing problem arises.....Captain skills. we all love captain skills, but is it captain skills that have helped make the lexington so weak compared to its tier rivals?. The captains skill air supremacy, a skill i am sure most if not all CV captains takes is inherently bias against U.S CV's before tier 9, why because until tier 9 U.S CV's only get 1 fighter squadron. That means that the effect of air supremacy effectively increases the amount of fighters you can have in the air by 1 fighter on U.S standard decks. Where as all Japanese CV's and premium CV's from tier 6 upwards have the option of 2 or more fighter squadrons meaning the same skill will increase the amount of fighters in the air for them by at least 2 fighters. now i am no math wizard but even i can see this will lead to a natural unbalance. lets assume that the Lexington and the shokaku once fully upgraded are in fact balanced but once you add the air supremacy skill to both ships it gives a unfair advantage to the shokaku as the increase from the skill buffs the lexingtons planes in the air by 1 fighter and 2 dive bombers but will buff the shokaku by either 2 fighters and 2 dive bombers or 3 fighters and 2 dive bomber depending on deck. now correct me if i am wrong but having a extra 2/3 fighters in the air compared to the 1 extra fighter the U.S gets will inherently buff the CV with most fighters more. could this be the cause of why u.s cv's are under preforming?

    It is becoming painfully clear that in the vast majority of games teams don't/won't or can't play the objective. be it from lack of brain power, lack of numbers or lack of communication. We all see games that end in 4 mins with team X holding A,B,C and D while team Z is off sailing the longest route possible hugging the map edges, and to be honest, in a lot of cases i can see why they are doing it. If your in a team that loses its dd's early the bb's are apprehensive to push in as they have no hard counter to a dd sitting just outside detection range spamming torps at them anyway i digress.....I have a idea. first things first what i will need to achieve my idea. Basic premises of my idea.....scrap the capture point A,B,C,D (they wont be needed in my idea though they could be kept in map rotation with the option of opting out bit like encounter mode in WOT) Extend battle time from 20 mins to 30 mins (20 is just not long enough) new game mechanic called scuttling (something that was done a lot to avoid ships falling in to hostile hands (scarper flow is a prime example) so here we go this is quite simple two teams team X and team Z fight it out in a 30 min battle with a new objective: sink the enemy team, team that loses all there ships first loses. but what about when i kill there dd but the dd's torpedoes kill me and both teams have a afk ship i hear you ask. well thats where the new scuttling mechanic comes in if a ship has not received any commands after 15 minutes (that should be plenty of time so close and relaunch the game if required) they are considered scuttled by the crew and the magazine is detonated. (the detonation award is not applied to ships sunk in this manner) If after 30 mins there is no winner, the winner is decided by which team has most ships left is declared the winner, if equal amount of ships are left the team with higher hp remaining % for example Team X overall hp is 1,200,000 Team Z has 1,155,000 after 30 mins team X has 2 ships remaining with a total hp of 97,000 team Z has 2 ships with a total hp remaining 81,000. team X overall hp remaining is about 12.3% Team Z is about 14.2% remaining so team Z would win ( sorry if my math is wrong here) when the last ship on one team is sunk the battle ends providing the last ship had no shell's in flight/torpedoes in the water, if they do the battle continues until those shells/torpedoes hand be it with a hit or a miss thus giving the chance of a draw. personally i think the vast majority of players would prefer this as they can play the battle they way they want to play it. What do you think of this idea, feel free to add your ideas, discuss the idea wholesale reject the idea (though i would like a counter argument if you don't like it.)   15. ok enough is enough the ranger was bad but the Lexington is a million times worse it just can not compete with the shokaku or the enterprise and before you give me but your fighters are better BS yes on paper fighter vs fighter the lex's are slightly better than the shokaku but not by enough to be competitive especially against a level 10 captain (which effects the shokaku and the enterprise more has it has more squads to buff with this perk) and is running the 2-2-2 set up (if they run the 3-1-2 just torp ya own ship) you dont stand a chance at winning air superiority). Lexington fighters Vought F4U-1 vs Shokaku Kawanishi N1K5-A Cruise speed 169Kts Cruise speed 171Kts Hit points 2142 Hit Points 1660 Load Out 101 Load Out 38 average DPS 69 Average DPS 70 so per squad assuming level 10 captain (which im sure all tier 8 cv's have or there in the process of re-training. the 7 fighters of the lexington and the 10 of the shokaku looks more like this. Cruise Speed 169 vs 171 knots Japs are faster so they can intercept easier and dictate where the fight will be. HP 2142*7=14,994 vs 1660*10= 16600 ( more hp in total) split in to 2 squads so more versatility on top of more hp Load out remains unchanged though its a pointless stat anyway as you will see, the only possible use it could have is watching for when the fighters return to rearm after that wiped out your fighters and maybe get a cheeky drop or 2 in. Average DPS 69*7=483 vs 70*10=700 (700 dps would take around 21.5 seconds for the Shokaku to wipe out all 7 of the lexington's assuming no losses) but even with losses they still got a nice buffer of 16.5 seconds till they need to rearm. compare that to the lexington's it will take the lexington's fighters close to 35 seconds to kill the shokaku fighters. now the strike aspect while it is true that US strike craft pack more punch of the lexington they are still out numbered 6 torpedo planes vs 8 (4,4) torpedo planes again the ability to cross drop shouldn't be underestimated here its a huge advantage to actually do damage. its only the dive bombers that seam to claw anything back for the lexington, the Lex's high explosive bombs are superior. but lets be honest the strike is irrelevant, the shokaku set up for fighters is just superior and when your fighters are gone your strike are either locked down and useless to anyone or are destroyed in short turn. so i go back to the original question when is WG gonna fix the Lexington, its all nice releasing more ships but how bout you open that XML folder and fix the ships in game first ?

    tell me how do you deal with 3 x 5 fighters with your 1 squad of 7 if you do win that fight often i gotta know your secret if you do it once in a blue moon you sure you want just fighting against someone that drools on then self and sticks pencils up there nose making bing bing sounds and has no concept of strafeing

    this makes me laugh first have you tried playing tier 8+ cv's? the aa on pretty much every bb/cruiser is like and you lose whole squads of planes to a single ship, i mean my NC is a killer of planes with a level 13 captain and a AA rating technically over 100 was at 99 before i took advance fire control. the skill required to micro manage planes as well as your ship should not be understated here it does take skill to play cv effectively and i am by no means a expert. the skill to play battleships, dont show broad side use the information given to you (distance,shell flight time) and learn what the crosshair does and how to use it to lead your shots i watched 1 video on youtube and my hit rate went up by a factor of 10, once you got this down bb's are by far the easiest clash to play, long range guns, great armor, tons of hp your idea is flawed on so many levels infinite planes, in that case your right cv's will solo the battle, as it currently stands i do 31k average damage in my tier 8 lexington and according to wows-numbers.com that is considered green (good) don't sound like they dictate the battle to me. but like many have said cv's help with spotting and thats there strength otherwise dd's would just dominate bb's by kiting them outside of view range

    i know what you mean 2 x 3 tier 9 fighters vs 6 tier 7 fighters hardly seams fair and with captains skills it gets worse its then 2 x 4 tier 9 fighters vs 7 tier 7 fighters. so not only does it end up 8 tier 9 fighters vs 7 tier 7 fighters but its in 2 squads to give that added versatility even at killing strike aircraft they can go after two squads at once while your limited to only being able to go after 1

    you are right 1 side will always have some form of disadvantage when fighters are concerned but i would argue the lex doesn't have a superior strike either dodging the lexingtons torps when your in a bb can be difficult but doable, dodging a cross drop on the other hand is impossible torps coming from say the left and from behind you can only really dodge 1 set or the other will hit you full broardside the only thing us ships do better is bombs and there as reliable as a chocolate tea pot. as to playing defensively i do that often, depending on what i am fighting, defensive works to a point. But i often get games when i am spotting a dd with 2 friendly cruisers under me next thing i no red fighters have engaged me. No probs its 1 squad i out number them and i got cruiser support....nope while fighters are tangled in the dog fight, that i am winning above friendly ships, and before i kill the last fighter the other squad turns up strafes my planes and his 1 plane killing the lot and retreating i lose 7 planes he loses 5 +1 from the other squad he won that round 7-6 and i am down to 11 fighters on top of that i got to wait for new fighter cool down leaving his 4 fighters to attack my strike at will if i don't leave them near friendly's which means i aint helping my team but he has no such restraints his strike craft can attack with impunity. how is that balanced?

    thanks that was a interesting read and if i was a muti-billionaire i would be sending down tons of inflatables to bring her back to the surface though not sure what sort of state she would be in after 80 years 2 miles under the waves, i know they say size don't matter but who whats a dingy when you can have a aircraft carrier :p

    while that is true, i think the cause might be a little deepper i myself find the game hanging loading into battle at least twice a day where i need to open task manager close wows and relaunch and when it come to machines mines a beast. and i got a 2x GTX1060's set up in a SLI crossfire and using 2 x crucial MX500 1tb SDD explain why i am left hanging at least twice a day
