why do soo many very experienced players feel the need to be a tier 1 seal clubber?
Warhawk1984 replied to Honda_NSX_R's topic in General Discussion
only issue is you can have a player with 10k games down the us line then choose i want to work on brit line starting from tier 1 they are grinding the same as anyone else yes there experienced but if they dont want to use or dont have free XP who are we to ban experienced players from grinding a new line and in the process effectively seal clubbing by accident? -
this is very true in a lot of ways there is a lack of content below tier 10 yes there are a few operations that you need a division for but besides that there is not much to do but grind and grind and well you know grind. even the clan based stuff is very limited. though if i remember rightly there was a grand plan to eventually integrate all 3 games together (WOT,WOWS,and WOP) all fighting together on massive clan wars maps, planes from a world of planes client dropping bombs on WOWS BB's battleships bombarding the land aiming for for tanks in wot ect. its a interesting vision i guess but i think were year and year away from that

The only time where this is untrue is if there in a division with a new player, experienced players getting there fiends to try the game and increase population is not a bad thing and you cant blame either of them for wanting to play together. -

normally its people who have lost the last 10 games in a row, they are not all that good at the game in all honesty at least not as good as they think they are so where better to get your ego stroked than killing a load of players that are still learning about things like lead time, angling and you can normally get easy kills at low tiers especially from people who like naval tactics i mean crossing the T in this game is the exact opposite of what you want to do. for all those that dont no what crossing the T is its basically where you and your friendly ships sail broadside on to hostiles sailing towards you the idea being that all of your guns the whole fleets targets the lead ship kills it repeats on the next ship sounds good right, in wows going full broadside just means you will take massive citadel hits -
i have nothing against the +2/-2 MM it allows for short queue times which we all want. however a upgrade to the MM i feel is needed MM should take into account modules on the ship stock ships have no business fighting ships 2 tiers higher so here is my idea. MM remains fundamentally the same but stock ships, truly stock ships (excluding premiums and tier 10's) will always be top tier so effectively a stock tier 6 will have a mm range of +0/-2 the moment you research a module it changes to +1/-2 MM so the moment you research something you can be put against 1 tier higher once fully researched (not including the grind to the next ship) you get standard +2/-2. effectively making it Stock ships +0/-2 (no higher tier than you) partial researched +1/-2 ( bet make sure you really want that gun range increase now or wait till you got the hull to go with it because you will be facing higher tier ships every now and again) fully researched +2/-2 ( back to the standard MM we currently use) i personally believe this will make the MM a lot fairer without leading to massively long queue times love to hear your guys feedback if you have a different idea please feel free to have your say

again that is true and the only way round that i can think of is needing every module researched to advance to the next ship and while it still dont fix it as such because you can just wait till you got the xp and research next ship and upgrade at the same time is becomes player choice if he wants a slightly gimped range to get to fight only +1 instead of +2 effectively it gives the player a bit more control
-
true however its a lot harder seal clubbing in a stock ship when a fully upgraded ship with a longer range more hp and faster is firing back just because your top tier in a stock ship dont mean that the other top tiers in the game are stock

@MrConway Just had a battle where the battle report really does paint a good picture of why the friendly damage punishment system is so broken and abuse-able. As you can see i did do damage to Allie by him being as blind as a bat and driving into 1 of my torps, fair enough if you damage a friendly you should get pushed. However if you damage a friendly with a torp from a volley but the rest of said torps from volley hits red ships its kinda clear you wasn't aiming at the friendly. notice i fired 3 torps all game (1 volley) 1 hit the idiot DD but what about the other 2 torps? there is 1 of them lodged into that kaiser but what about the 3rd torp found it in the side of the karlsrune. How it occurred (edited in) effectively the situation was me and a dd where defending cap dd coming back from the right me from the left dd got there first and engaged got spotted and started taking massive damage, i got in range and start hitting the cruiser still the cruiser carried on going for the dd so i went with torps instead because this cruiser is killing this dd hes tracking him fine i need to get rid of this cruiser before this cruiser gets rid of my dd "buddy" 1 hits my target 1 misses but hit the kasier that is right up the cruisers ar*e the other went wide damage done cruiser is now crippled and a 1 shotter bb left at 7k the dd then turns round from full retreat to attack there both easy kills now, he launches torps at the bb while killing the cruiser with a single volley earning him double strike im in the middle of congratulating him when he sails straight into the last torp. apparently its my fault the dd got hit and yes it was i fired them, but he still chose to go on the attack after he needs to be aware what just caused all that damage. so i fire 1 torp volley hit 3 ships 2 reds and a green and the green was a dd that had all the time in the world to get out the way and i get punished!?, hell if i wanted to i could just drive into friendly torps to be a cu*t to people. and on top of that people who wasn't even watching the situation just see it saying i did team damage and start chucking in reports, how is this even fair?

really do love the fact you guys completely ignore the fact the dd turned round after the torps hit the red ships and saw they were easy pickings, he chose to turn after the torps had been fired and the reason he chose to turn was because the damage said torps did to red ships how can you justify that. He needs to take responsibility to where he points his ship and be aware of the situation. -

the dd was taking constant damage from the cruiser that i left a 1 shotter as far as i was concerned that dd was a gonna if i didn't do something to take out the cruiser, and torps was the only thing i got with the damage potential to do that so yes it kinda was a last resort and again simply ignore the fact the dd literally turned round 180° for some easy kills that i set up for him -

yes though out my torpdos range hes literally sailing towards them a dd must take responsibility to where there sailing when things are in front of you. by your logic you may as well remove torps from cruisers as they will always be behind dd's not to mention without the damage the torps did to the other 2 red ships that dd was gonna get wrecked hard left the cruiser at around 300hp the bb 7k allowing said dd to kill both and get double strike. its like he saw my torps hit turned round for some easy kills and runs into the 3rd torp in the process -

quick reply to all above posts nope he was the other side of them them at ~6km him at the time of launch ~11km he literally sailed towards them i am guessing for a torp run of his own -
Damage threshold for penalties lowered?
Warhawk1984 replied to Aotearas's topic in General Discussion
i feel for ya ever notice its always dd's that have the ability to dodge and avoid them that gets hit -
ap bombs are devastating to German bb's its there turtle back design that does it if i remember rightly the armored deck allows the bomb to penetrate deep and hit citadels for fun without the annoying over pen that ap bombs are well known for, drop them bad boys on pretty much anything else and the damage is anemic, its the trade off you pay for having good all round armor, but as a lot of people have mentioned in the past sometimes no armor is the best armor where every shot over pens on a side note i personally believe that if a shot over pens in 1 side out the other there should be a risk of flooding depending on how close to the waterline it hits, this is especially true with AP bombs as if they over pen there putting a hole in the bottom of your boat

RTS games dont work on console? tell that to command and conquer both red alert and cain's wrath was epic the only reason C&C effectively died was all down to EA big shocker there right, granted RTS works better on PC but saying they dont work for consoles is just plain wrong

Sorry OP i will be rather blunt here, WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO SAY WHO CAN AND CAN NOT PLAY? because your a clan leader? because you think your entitled? its a free to play game of course kids will be playing when they can. your basing skill off age and that's stupid i know 13 year old's that would sail rings round me saying that i know a 70 year old that does the same in fact watching my nephew battling my dad in a training room when i pop over is actually quite educational. so the only solution i have to your issue OP is this. take your head out your a$$ and try to understand its a god dam free to play game available to everyone with a pc/internet and a e-mail.

cvs can help with aa but they have limited planes no cv player is gonna waste there planes saving a ship that sailed off alone needs of the many thing, oh and crying for aa support when torp bombers are 5km away from you is no good my planes are well planes not starships with warp drive they dont TELEPORT like 99% of the player base thinks

a low tier operation that is designed to teach things like aiming and torpedo avoidance would be nice, it seams thats the first draw back to new players. another idea for newplayers (under 500 games) is a first officer thats gives advice like which shell type to choose based on target and distance as well as an approximate lead time to target +/- 10% (yes its basically a aim bot for new players to try and teach where to aim) and hopefully keep them interested in a game where rng can be the real difference in winning and losing

Lexington needs a buff badly, but then again cv's kinda need a rework. emerald could do with a little more range in the gun department cant think of any othes
-
personally i would open up all ships to everyone for ranked as well as make them free to repair as well as make premium consumables free. basically make ranked all about getting ranks rather then saying sorry mate you might be a pro but your 500 games says you cant play you dont have the ships. or getting financially limited so you cant participate. and from a WG perspective it gives players the chance to try out them prem consumables and who knows they might get a few more people buying them

while it is true you should have checked the fact that the notification system informing you that the reserve was full was not working you may have a case to get them captains back.

nah thats formation sailing, but dont forget the "ships" unique gimmick to call in a cyclone when needed because i swear every time i go to wales its foggy raining and smells funny
