    Well... I don't know about the Mikasa (I have fought against it a few times, but I didn't notice anything peculiar), so I cannot say her state. In any case, to answer to the question of the topic... I think I wouldn't mind seeing some more premium Tier 2 pre-dreadnoughts. I am not sure if I would approve of them as regulars, though.

    Now that I think about it, how about a non-battleship example? The battle of Cape Esperance. Although not intended, the USN force managed to cross the T of the Japanese squadron; and although it didn't turn into a huge victory for the Americans, it was still pretty neat.

    Surprise that was less prepared than we can imagine; the Japanese force was spotted just by luck, as it was almost in the blind spot between the search patterns of two USN carriers, and at a tactical level, despite the orders to the contrary, several PT boats rushed to attack first, without warning the fleet that the Japanese were coming. Also, despite the enormous concentration of firepower (also because, by the time the Battle Line began firing, only the Yamashiro was still steaming north, while the crippled Fuso was already doubling back trying to stay afloat), its results were less impressive than it should have been; despite being repeatedly hit and torpedoed, the old battlewagon still took its sweet time to sink. And this despite the orders to engage at less than the big guns' maximum range, to not waste ammo! All this according to Anthony Tully. Anyway, I'm not sure if the parallels are really there; as narrow as Surigao Strait was, the big ships still had some room to maneuver, and in fact the IJN ships eventually managed to double back and withdraw. On Two Brothers they couldn't do that.

    Although not as extensive as yours, I have played from the days of CBT as well; and I have had quite a bit of games in which my team was roflstomped like nothing and I was left alone to try and extract as much damage as I could before I sank. Something's amiss...

    If your experience with BBs is bad, I feel sorry for you. However, mine is completely different; BBs can be lots of fun, and can do a ton of damage, if used right.

    I can only speak for BBs, because this is the class with which I have the best success. The Kawachi is underwhelming, I admit. However, it is the starter ship for the line, and I doubt there'll ever be an awesome ship in such a position. The South Carolina as well is nothing special. The Myogi, however, is something else. Yes, you have few guns, slow to fire and slow to turn, and your protection is low as well, however, if you take advantage of your range to stay outside the firing range of enemy Wyomings and New Yorks, and with a little patience, you can really put the hurt on them. Take it easy, and try to aim carefully - and the results start popping in. I am in no way a spectacular player, yet I've somehow managed with my Myogi to accrue double the average damage for the EU server. Your speed is precious, you can outmaneuver the more powerfully armed USN ships without sweating, not to mention that you enjoy a good mobility that allows you to support your team in a way that they cannot - capping, resetting caps, etc.

    Actually, even with only eight guns, the Revenge-class could still throw a heavier weight when firing... 6968 kg versus the 6350 of the New York (7032 versus 6800 if we consider the WWII-era shells). It also seems that even the least modernized Queen Elizabeth-class BBs could not, even by WWII, fire their superfiring turrets if they were within 30° of the ship's axis, otherwise their blast would have penetrated the lower turrets through their open hoods, but I doubt we'll have this problem when the standard QE battleship arrives... Range... well, we know that range is one of the things most easily tweaked for the purpose of balance. Also, there's quite some difference, if we look at the displacements, between the New York and the Revenge. The latter is more in line with the Fuso and the New Mexico. I rest my case; the Revenge can find a place at Tier 6.

    The Revenge seems OP at Tier 5; compared to the New York, it has the same speed, but it's better protected and its firepower is better, while the Kongo is faster, but it has again inferior firepower and way less protection. It would murder them.

    This. At Jutland, the reason why the German fleet had to withdraw twice in face of the "T" of the British ships was that the sheer number of guns pointed at them was such that it was certain that at least some of them would connect, even if any battleship's hit ratio wasn't much higher than 3% in any case. In this game hitting the target isn't such a big problem.

    Well, did they use them? Did any battleship, other than HMS Rodney, actually hit an enemy ship with them?

    In that case, you can put the info relative to these ships here, so that we and WG can go and see its amount. However, do you think that it is enough to cover ten Tiers?

    I don't see any reason why their stock hull shouldn't be their WWI one, with their mighty AA armament of two 3-inch guns!

    Yes, the different gun caliber apparently made co-ordinated fire for the Kawachis extremely difficult, if not impossible. HMS Dreadnought's system seems like a step in the right direction, yet it doesn't look to me as a proper central-controlled fire system.

    They were meant to have the same guns on all turrets, if I'm not mistaken; only the contingent financial situation forced the designers to turn to what they perfectly knew was an inferior design. Also, again if I'm not mistaken, centralized fire control took some more time to be implemented; the first dreadnoughts all over the world didn't have such a system.

    Huh? Look at the BBs: the South Carolina and the Kawachi both were commissioned quite some years before WWI. The Tier 5 BBs, the New York and the Kongo, were commissioned right on the eve of the war. If you think about the pre-dreadnoughts and armoured cruisers... well, the battle did show that there was little place for either of them (HMS Defence, Warrior and Black Prince, and SMS Pommern). It's more that it's likely impossible to simulate the sheer size and complexity of the both fleets, in my opinion...

    We can hope to see some of these ships as premiums, or as a part of a "minor powers" tree. But a dedicated tree, even a small one... it's impossible, I'm afraid.

    Actually, the Inflexible carried 16-inch guns (the two Italian ironclads Duilio and Dandolo were the ones with the bigger gun)... that probably needed some ten minutes or something like that to be reloaded. And the protection, although on practice impressive, is nothing special compared to the progress undergone by armor plates (even considering just the Mikasa, I'd say). Hmmm... let's not forget that there were two cruiser counterparts for the pre-dreadnoughts: the armoured cruiser, and the protected cruiser. And we don't have any pure example of the former (since the St. Louis might be considered for its protection scheme an armoured cruiser, but it's tolerable game-wise because, instead of having a 10-inch main battery akin to the pre-dreadnoughts it has a uniform battery of 6-inch guns).

    Ok, I think I definitely fell in love with the NM! After getting the B hull (Finally), I just had a game... I was shot at profusely, and even took a torpedo in the belly, and I was middle Tier (most was Tier 7). And somehow, by angling like mad, by turning and twisting like a S.O.B. (you were right guys, the B hull does improve the ruddershift quite nicely!), and by taking advantage of the firepower of the boat, I managed to conquer my first Kraken ever (yeah, I'm an average n00b, so so far I had only managed to get at most 4 kills), unleash almost 110K damage and pretty much carrying the game for my team, as one of them even said in chat!
