If you're locked and your shots are hitting the mountain, then you don't have the trajectory. Some guns arc higher than others, some fly faster than others. It just takes practise with the ship really and judgement of the distances between your guns and the terrain, the height of the terrain, and then the distance from the terrain to the enemy ship. Not everyone is using aimbots, a lot of people just have practise

Shoots and hits with 2 citadel hits. Just to be clear . Apologies in advance for the language after that when I engage the Baltimore. I recommend watching one of the newer videos from last night as the Montana guns are even more amazing sounding.

You need to stop sailing into my ships first Captain Obvious! I've been advised it's active again tonight, so it would be rude not to play it again so you guys can fire questions at me. Unless gold has been refreshed I'm unlikely to be able to show off the Japanese Carriers though or the new Japanese Premium Battleship

BS as in Battleships? I've been playing them and at tier 6 the New Mexico is amazing. The North Carolina at tier 8 I didn't find too exciting. Will likely be playing the 3.1 test again tonight.

I'll see if we can get the Captain skill updated to so it rather than being class specific, it refers to ships that have the ability. No promises though.

A very simply way to prevent DD's from spamming torpedoes, rather than limiting how many you carry could be to just raise their costs to rearm. Think of it like tier 8 heavy tanks in World of Tanks, when it costs 1k a shell, you soon adjust your play to make sure the shots hit and don't waste them.

The plan is to have the accounts linked yes. We've never said that this wouldn't happen. That video was made quite a while ago and things have changed since then. The infrastructure has to be in place behind the scenes for the merged accounts to work and sadly that is not going to be ready with the release of OBT. What we are saying now is that with OBT there won't be a unified account, however with the planned "release" date of the game, we hope to have the unified account in place.

The premium time from pre-orders stack yes. So if you bought a package with a ship, then just bought a premium time package separate in the pre-order store, they stack. Looking again at the initial question, The Golden Treasure Chest only gives you 8250 Dubloons. It does not give you Premium time. In CBT the Dubloons are called tokens, if you use the tokens to buy premium time in CBT, then when OBT comes that premium time is removed from your account. When OBT starts the tokens you spent on the premium time are refunded as Dubloons. So you start OBT with 8250 Dubloons as that's exactly what you purchased.

To clarify: This package is what you get when World of Warships OBT starts. So when we start OBT you'll have 30 days premium on your World of Warships account. What you get now in CBT doesn't matter. Any premium time you have on your CBT account doesn't matter. There is a wipe at the end of CBT and everything is removed from your account. When OBT starts you have only exactly what you paid for as a pre-order. If you have a package that gave you 30 days premium, you'll have 30 days premium. However many days premium you had showing on your account in CBT doesn't matter. When OBT starts, World of Warships accounts and World of Tanks accounts ARE NOT linked. So the 30 days premium time won't be added to your World of Tanks time. It will be 30 days premium only for World of Warships.

What in-game graphics settings are you running on? Anything higher than medium and your internal graphics card is going to struggle. Any AA or torpedo intense situation it will pretty much pause the game as your FPS dies

Suggestion: give beta testers a percentage of accrued xp as free XP
Ectar_ replied to TheCinC's topic in General Discussion
Yes. This is a closed beta test. If normal game mechanics were set then we'd be in CBT for quite a while waiting on a decent pool of players at high tier to gather results at that level. If you don't wish to grind 'again' then you can always stop playing in CBT and wait till OBT starts. From the very start of CBT we've been clear that all progress would be wiped when it switches to OBT. This isn't a head start so please don't treat it that way. What may or may not happens in other games has zero relevance here. Treat OBT as your headset as OBT is basically a soft launch and there will be no wipe after that.- 41 replies

Q: Do we keep port slots after Closed Beta is over?
Ectar_ replied to The_Gathering's topic in General Discussion
No The only exception to this is alpha testers who have it, will keep their Awaki Alpha -
If you want to continue being able to post on the forums, I'd advise using a different name for the Warspite. Warspoipoipoite is the one I like the best so far.

Lucky Asian Server..... they are teasing us!
Ectar_ replied to OldGrandad's topic in General Discussion
English articles aren't an issue. We fully support seven languages including English which means articles published on the EU portal go out at the same time in all those languages. -

Jokes aside the EU region is the only region that has to translate all news articles into 6 other languages. Our content team isn't just there for World of Warships, they also work on articles for World of Tanks, World of Warplanes, World of Tanks 360, World of Tanks Blitz and World of Tanks Generals. This can sometimes create a lot of work when articles for different games are due at the same time (update 9.7 for World of Tanks just launched today also). We work very had to avoid situations like that but sometimes other articles take priority or can be put out quicker. Warspite will be announced in the EU region within the next 2-3 hours top. I already dropped a massive hint on Facebook earlier. Due to time differences the Asia region is normally going to be first to post articles, that's simply a knock on effect of timezone differences. -
To clear up any confusion. When I talk about official announcements I'm talking about global portal announcements, not what gets said on a regional forum. I tend to only deal in absolutes when talking about future content with players, otherwise 6 months time if our developers change their mind, players come back to the forums and say "Ectar you said that ....." and it's me that is in the wrong for saying something that is subject to change. It's entirely possible the French fleet could come before Italians. We'll know this once the developers are absolutely sure and we can share this official with players in due time. Remember we're still in CBT yet and there is a good 100 to 150 ships to come before we need to worry about what the 6th nation is

Comparing it to World of Tanks isn't really an accurate representation. In almost every situation in that game you stop to shoot and you zoom in to aim at key area's. If you're shooting on the move in World of Tanks you're either not zoomed in and taking a snapshot, or you're unloading a clip into a tank from a fairly short distance as you have a machine gun like main weapon. How do people aim when they're constantly on the move in WoT over bumpy terrain? They aim badly, very very badly and they don't like it. The removal of the Port map is a perfect example of this. When aiming gets difficult due to terrain in WoT people just stop their tanks. Remember please that the game isn't intended to be a fully functioning simulator, additional hardcore or realistic game modes may be a possibility but from past experience of other games, it usually only appears to a tiny percentage of players who all can't agree on what feature/function should matter the most.

I never said anything contrary to that. I was simply stating the nations we had confirmed were coming to the game. France and Italy are still being considered and are quite likely, however we have not made any official statements other than what we've said regarding the Japanese, American, Soviet, German and British fleets.

No idea who stuck that word in, if I get my hands on the notes to publish a different word would be used.

Your conclusion is misplaced I'm afraid. Secondary weapons on Battleships and Carriers will tear through Destroyers, especially if the Destroyer is a tier lower. There is multiple times I will avoid a higher tier carrier in my Destroyers as I know they'll spam me with HE, not what you want when you're on low health and trying to close to torpedo range. On Cruisers they will open up on ships close enough to them also. Secondary armaments are intended to be a deterrence, they're not intended to wipe out anything within their range. In Alpha they were really powerful and got toned down. (it used to be once a Battleship got within 5km of someone, they were almost always dead to secondary armaments).

Water effects and weather effects is something that is being considered whilst we make sure we can implement it properly. Consider that with story/choppy water your aiming of your guns is really really going to go suffer badly. It's why ships don't sit lower in the water when you take flooding damage. Each ships's guns are zero'd/levelled based on their position on the hull, when you change that height it will have a drastic affect on where your aiming cursor lies as the shells won't be heading for that area. Another thing to consider for a moment is how hard it is to land most of your shot as it is now, and then think about what it would be like trying to time your shots between waves hitting your ship (and that's hoping the waves are coming straight at you, never mind hitting the ship from port or starboard)... It could be cool for a sense of realism, but for gameplay it would be a different matter.

There won't be anything carrying over from CBT to OBT other than any pre-order packages you're purchased. In-game progress is wiped. It can be a strong ship when left to it's own devices. Remember there is only 2 nations in game right now. Eventually there will be up to 5 nations in-game each with their own Battleship, Destroyer and Cruiser lines (and likely some nations will have multiple cruiser branches by then). I enjoy the Cleveland for what it is, but my favourite ship from Alpha is coming soon and that's a tier 6 also. I'll be farming Clevelands in the New Mexico when it's available. As good as the Cleveland is, you don't want to have a Battleship's full attention.

I know a lot, but it's not my place to release details ahead of time I'm afraid. Ev1n and Tuccy would have my pretty little Scottish head on a plate. More information will come in good time.
