  1. That's not something we can comment on the EU office, as it was the NA office that did the humble bundle promotion, as it was the NA office that have created this survey for NA players who viewed their PAX stream. Closing this thread now to avoid any further confusion. We've passed on our feedback to the NA team regarding the wording used on the survey. - Ectar

WG's "big" WoWS LAUNCH DAY stream a big flop?

Well I've already decided to stop streaming World of Warship is my personal time, something I've done since CBT started every Wednesday and Sunday night. I give you guys as much information as I have. If people don't pass that information on to me, I can't say anything else. If people in other regions are doing stuff without telling me why it's happening, I can only go by what players are being told on the forums.

Not personalizing it for me, but deliberately misspelling my name twice to insult me? It's stuff like this I just don't get from you guys. Because I'm representing the company, I'm expected to be professional at all time, and to the best of my ability I will. But why you guys seem to think that taking something which irks you from the company, and then making it personal against me, is somehow ok, or likely to get me to push more for your side of things.. It amazes me.

WG's "big" WoWS LAUNCH DAY stream a big flop?

You're talking about perception after essentially calling me nationalist for not pinning your thread. Great way to get me on your side. Same server' date=' more regular CBT players, less place for Humble Dumble... Fair enough, can live with that. Thanks for the clarification. [/quote'] Well nothing can be done immediately right now, so all I can say is stuff will be forthcoming Okay' date=' the NA got compensated for having to wait on a premium ship because of reasons. The EU is upset because they have to pay more for premium stuff, and don't have any contests/specials/... at all, which the NA had running all the way in CBT. Why don't the EU-server get compensated for the inequality that it suffers towards the RU and NA server, while it is possible the other way around? Can you please elaborate further? [/quote'] We're looking into doing a contest for the PAX Marblehead. I don't know what else you want me to say. Players in another region got something they weren't intended to get in order to calm them down for something else. I don't quite understand why 3 other regions (RU and SEA as well as EU) are now the ones in the wrong because NA got something they weren't really supposed to get in the first place. - Again regional differences isn't something I can impact but I sure as hell share the sentiment that having obvious differences is bad and not something we should be doing in order to appease single regions. Again I've said we're looking into how to do a similar contest for EU that is more easier to manage and verify eligible winners than asking staff to check through over 6000 posts never mind the amount of images within each post. That's not being lazy, that's not creating a huge amount more work than is realistically manageable, especially when over the next 4 weeks we have about 4 different events to attend in the EU region (Vienna, Sweden, Czech Republic, Netherlands). Okay' date=' so the nagging of the NA-server about not having the Tirpitz directly gets a result in a feasible contest in which everyone can partake. The complaints of the EU-server about not having any contests/premium deals/higher prices passes unnoticed, and nothing was and will be done to remedy those complaints. Seems like a rather blunt, unfair and plain arrogant stance from the WGEU community. Maybe we should complain about not being able to buy the (regular) Marblehead. Why can't we have that ship? It's not an as hyped vessel as the Tirpitz is, but on the other hand, it's a Tier V premium, a perfect moneyprinter and education for captains. Can you explain that? [/quote'] The Marblehead Lima is currently a ship assigned for partnerships and is available currently as part of an Asus Promotion. Much like how the PzIV Hydro was initially restricted to Razer promotion on World of Tanks, partnership vehicles have certain restrictions about their availability. It's not something we have any control over. Some vessels/vehicles are available to players via premium stores, some are set aside for contests, some are restricted for parterships and promotions as exclusive content. - Again the PAX Marblehead was a ship requested specifically for Pax and was only intended to be given out in limited numbers, at Pax.

WG's "big" WoWS LAUNCH DAY stream a big flop?

A forum is open conversation, I do my best to speak to players about a variety of topics however I can never guarantee I can answer every statement or post by a player. I will always try however to clarify any confusion about things and set the record straight when people present mixed information. I can't. As I explained previously in this forum until very recently the EN team was understaffed. We don't have CM's dedicated to Warships alone so it's impossible to give the level of focus that the NA team can do when they have around 60% less of our playerbase and they have 2 dedicated staff members for that product (A Community Manager and a Community Coordinator). "But we don't care! Hire more people!" And we have, only recently Mr_Conway and Ph3lan have joined our ranks and we're looking into getting some contests up and running. Humble Bundle was something that wasn't intended to transfer to OBT. Flooding the CBT server with players (at the time CBT server was capped at 8k) one week before OBT opened wasn't something we were prepared to do in EU. PAX Marblehead was a ship intended to be given out at PAX. You know by now that at each major event there is content available only to attends as a bonus for visiting the booth. The PAX Marblehead was made available to NA forum players as an apology because they angry/upset that they couldn't get the Tirpitz when EU players could. There is no devs based in NA, and our Developers are not the people who sign off contests. I'm not sure where that idea has came from. Copying the Pax Marblehead on the EU servers when you have over 3 times the player number is not a manageable system. I've said this multiple times and I'll say it again here, - Just because 1 region does something, doesn't mean it's a good idea or will work for other regions. - Note I am NOT saying we shouldn't do a contest and provide prizes, simply that copying that exact same contest will be an utter nightmare to verify and manage all the submitted results. There was 2406 players who qualified for a prize in NA You could have had something like that for Gamescom however PAX followed Gamescom and the contest was done in reaction to another event (No Tirpitz sale in NA). Complaining that we didn't have the foresight to predict what another region would do afterwards in reaction to a totally different issue... Well it's rather obvious why there wasn't a similar contest at Gamescom.... If NA players weren't complaining about the Tirpitz sale I double the PAX Marblehead would have been available to forum users as by Nxy's own words NyxWGA, on 25 August 2015 - 08:02 PM, said: That being said, we do not have plans to immediately sell the Tirpitz. It is a "rare" ship, so we wouldn't sell it right now and then again in a very short span of time - takes the rare factor away. We also recognize that you guys, our loyal customers, would really like something new. We have a PAX-specific ship coming up later this week. It was originally slated to be given out on the show floor to PAX attendees, but I made the case that our loyal forum-goers should have a chance to get one, even if they could not attend the show. Now to the various points raised in this thread. I'm sorry that for the transition from OBT to release we did not have a livestream from the EU office, nor did we promote the NA stream. I can't guarantee in future we'll have our own stream but it is being something looked into. I'm also sorry that there has been a difference in content available for players to win various contests held across different regions. We will be starting to do EN contests very soon. At the same time we will continue to support our Community Contributors for any contests they want to do, and will work with new EU/EN contributors such as Sts_Deserte and Izolate. ShipComrade, on 18 September 2015 - 02:53 PM, said: Yet, when I pm'ed Ectar requesting a pin in the forums so others in the community can enjoy this resource (which I don't make a dime on). He read it, and then ignored it. Maybe that is due to his perspective towards NA (Americans) which you can see from his Tweets on Twitter in the past. He doesn't care for us at all even though the American people shouldn't be judged by our crooked politicians. Lets not do this.... You PM'd me advising me you were a key NA contributor, you were already working with Nxy who is a level above me, and that NA have already given you a press account (something normally never given to contributors as it creates an unfair advantage over the other contributors regarding the level of content you can provide compared to what they can provide). You asked if I could pin your thread and the followed it up with "If not , it's cool". Clearly it's not cool. I'm known for being very active in Twitch dropping by different World of Tanks and World of Warships streams. You can find me sometimes in Braincage's stream. I play on the WoT NA server with Anfield and Sela sometimes. I've tried in the past to work with NA streamers, namly CohhCarnage (who's east coast morning stream is during the EU afternoon) and Lirik who I both helped with CBT keys during the start of CBT. I also tried reaching out to TotalBiscuit where I was more or less told "He's NA, we should talk to him". I'd love to work with you, but when you're already very well connected with the NA staff and and clearly being supported by them, I'm not really sure what I can do that isn't already being done for you at a higher level in another region. As trying to make out I'm somehow nationalist or have an issue with NA based on my twitter, I'm speechless at how utterly ridiculous of a comment that is.

When you talk like that to me, yeah, I kinda skip over content like that. If we were in a face to face conversation I wouldn't reply to you swearing at me, I fail to see why on the forums you feel that's ok.

Views on a channel and concurrent viewers are a totally different thing. I'm talking about peak concurrent viewers which is how many people at a single time are watching a channel. Quickybaby doesn't stream 7 days a week yet in socialblade you're seeing numbers from Mon through to Sunday. Are you honestly telling me you think 4,700 people watched an inactive stream on Monday? A " channel view" is anyone who lands on the channel page and it doesn't filter multiple visits from the same IP's. It's not representative number of people who watch an active stream. If you watched someone for 10 seconds, left, came back again 2 hours later and watched for 10 seconds again, that would show as 2 channel views. As an example, look at my stats for the month - http://socialblade.com/twitch/user/ectar_/monthly I've not streamed on that channel for at least 2 months. All you're seeing there is the traffic on there page, which is people for whatever reason visiting my channel page. It's not me streaming to 1 person each day. With all due respect you're quoting figures out of context here because if you use the same 2 sources you quoted last night, the wargaming channel is now showing 32k channel views to Quickybaby's 15k. - Again channel views doesn't equal the amount of players who at the same time, were all watching the live stream. All it's showing you is how many people click on that channel page.

Streaming for the sake of streaming or doing something just because another region does it, doesn't mean it's a good idea. When you look at other games out there you only really have streams when it comes to major announcements/updated and others have no streams at all. Doing a weekly stream actually requires a heck of a lot of work if you want it to be of decent quality. You need to have the equipment, the content it and most of all, people experienced enough to know what they're doing. Both Mr Conway and Karsun speak fluent English, granted they're not native English speakers like the people in the NA office, however there is only about 5 or 6 English first language speakers in the entire EU office. RoyalColor, on 18 September 2015 - 11:07 AM, said: Murmansk, Marblehead for everybody and now they are even being given gold for filling the surveys! I don't want to rant, but this really feels unfair. I agree that giving out too much content for little effort is unfair and sets the wrong expectations from the community. A prize should feel worthwhile and giving out stuff for basically turning up just means that in future people expect more stuff for similar little effort. the more content you give out all the time and the greater the value, the more the community expect stuff at that level for future events. Everyone in the office speaks English. It's a requirement to work here. Only about 5-6 of us are English natives (Myself from Scotland, 2 guys from New Zealand, and 5 from England). I'm one of the few people who only speak one language. No, the solution is not to do nothing. As I said in the EU we're dedicated to supporting 7 languages and supporting them fully. If I did a stream I want people to come to the stream because of what we're doing, not because of what we're giving away. Because the exp required from VII to VIII is considerably higher than the exp required from VI to VII. Cleveland research price = 36,500 plus 9800 for hull B, then 70,000 to Pensacola Pensacola research price = 70,000 plus 17,800 for hull B then 110,000 to New Orleans Tier VII and Tier VIII have always been the point where progress slows down as you need a lot more exp to get to the next level.

To touch on a couple of points: Quickybaby isn't an "amateur". He's been streaming for over 3 years and streams full time. He's a professional streamer and it's his job. On Quickybaby's stream you had an EU Community Coordinator (Mr_Conway) and an EU Producer (Karsun) present. the "launch" stream wasn't advertised on the EU servers because it was a stream by our NA office. We don't advertise streams from our RU office or our SEA office either. Similarly you won't find any posts on the RU forums or website talking about the NA stream. The Chieftain was the person on the NA stream, not the Challenger. The Challenger is based in EU. Quickybaby didn't have 14k+ He peaked at about 2.6k. His main audience is World of Tanks but he also plays Warships. Again, referring to streamers as "amateurs" just because they don't work with a company is not giving them proper credit. Especially when you're talking about people who stream 4 or 5 times a week as a full time occupation. Streaming isn't as easy as people like to think it is, in the EU office we don't have a studio or area set aside where we can stream internally like the NA office has, which is one of the main reasons why we don't do our own streams/shows. It's something I'd personally love to do, however when you stream you need to have content you can provide and stuff you can talk about. Another point to consider is that for the EU region to assume that just doing a stream in English is fine for everyone is a bit naive. Realistically we'd also need to have a separate German stream and possibly Polish stream due to player numbers from those regions. As we're not able to stream from our office in EU, we work with our Contributors and join in their streams. This allows us to provide content for all 7 of our supported languages without having to juggle 7 different internal shows/streams and all the staff members that would need to be involved for that. Remember unlike the NA office we don't have Community Managers/Coordinators dedicated to one single product. Our Community Managers and Coordinators cover all Wargaming products.

    Account not reset for launch?

Any impressions of a wipe for the end of OBT to Launch is something only you have set yourself. Wargaming has never stated there would be any wipes at the end of OBT. We have been quite clear in fact to let players know during the OBT phase that there would be no wipe when we transition to release. What has transpired at launch is exactly what we advised players in advance would happen with their accounts.
  12. What would give you that idea? I can't think of any major games company where their core staff work from home, especially at a customer service level. For example major games companies based in Europe have their core staff based in the following cities: Blizzard = Versailles and Cork Riot = Dublin EA = Galway Ubisoft = Newcastle Paradox = Sweden For our fully supported languages in Europe (German, French, Czech, Polish, Spanish, Turkish. English) we have Customer Service agents, Content and localization Editors, along with Community Teams all based in our regional offices. I'm not quite sure what you're trying to get at with the message about translators. You'll find that roles like that aren't advertised on our corporate side as it's more of a freelance role.

Much bigger explosion when BB die

I think it tends to only happen on torpedo hits to the bow or stern or when a ship is split in two.
  14. Apologies but I don't have the free time that a playerbase of around 30,000 to 40,000 has, so it's not always easy to pick up all the various streamers and youtubers out there.
  15. Ectar_

Much bigger explosion when BB die

There is bow/stern up sinking in game already, it's just a rare animation.
  16. Ectar_

Much bigger explosion when BB die

Bigger and more varied sinking animations and explosions are something we'd like to add. Personally when I get a detonation on someone I want to see turrets and funnels etc flying off.
  17. Thanks for the heads up, always on the look out for new streamers and youtubers!

    Player stats wipe post launch

Your stats just like your experiences in life are part of who you are. Everyone and I mean everyone was new to the game and had to learn it and their stats will represent that if they took a while to adjust. As I see this thread is now turning into a stat QQ thread I'm going to close it. I'm getting a bit fed up watching every thread being hijacked by people QQing about CV damage.
  19. I'll check with our HR team to see if there is any reason for the delay. Based on your e-mail title I can advise you that the only "work from home" roles we have is forum moderation.
  20. I think this thread has ran it's course now. When you descend into insulting each other because someone disagrees with you, it shows that you're running out of stuff to say after you've been called out. This just kinda sums this thread up. I explained some things, you disagree with them still, and now you're claiming I'm insulting your intelligence? "It exists because you can't prove it doesn't. I don't have to prove it does exist, I just know it exists because you can't prove it doesn't" It's impossible to ever get through to people with that frame of mind. Your points of view are borderline fanatical as you won't see things from any other angle. There is no discussion here, just you and other player saying "I think it's this way, everyone else is wrong. Here is a document with multiple different variables and they must be using one because I can't win all my games". /thread closed

    Player stats wipe post launch

No wipe planned, your stats are a result of your gameplay. Everyone sucked at one time or another.
  22. Thank you for totally missing my earlier post in this thread. If it wasn't going to happen. We'd say it's not going to happen. If we knew when it was going to happen, we'd say it's going to happen. When we have more information to share about the subject we will, immediately. for now it's till something we'd like to do, however there is a few things to be worked out to make sure it's viable.
  23. Correct, but that doesn't automatically mean it's something you can share publicly. Any dates quoted, even with the best caveats in place.... Always get take as 'set in stone' and 100% guaranteed.
  24. I can't say yes or not at this stage. All I can say is that we'll confirm it once we're 100% sure we're ready (and able) to roll it out. It's not like we just flick a switch and everything is groovy, there is technical stuff behind the scenes that needs worked out.
