For me it's CV > BB = DD > CA > CL in terms of damage in battle. Which does make a lot of sense. For fun I think CA > BB > CV > DD > CL. I can see why Omaha/Murmansk/Cleveland is considered OP, but the low shell velocity is no fun for me. Had a game of North Carolina (me) vs Iowa, where I closed to 3km facing forwards with 6 guns at his broadside and scored 5 citadels in 2 salvos for the kill, had another game of Aoba (me) vs New Mexico + Nagato + Omaha + 2 enemy CL at longer distance, where I charged New mexico and killed him at 2km range with torpedoes, then scored multiple citadels at less than 5km range to kill Omaha, then discovered my torpedo tubes were destroyed and I died to Nagato. Those are the kind of games that makes this game fun and memorable for me. -
Why would anyone want to spend 2 million credits on the +20% target acquisition range upgrade?

almost 250k damage, they had a single cruiser left, burning and flooding with about 500 HP, and it was a draw... ... I'm speechless. At least I got lots of credits I suppose.

Can't remember cruisers, but got 8 citadels in North Carolina yesterday, which earned me high caliber + confederate + 2x devastating strike with almost half a million credits. :-) BB definitely need buff, too under powered. -
Are there any plans to patch out the abuse of full speed 0m radius turns on the map border? I think which team can abuse the border better is becoming THE determining factor of which team wins the game in standard game mode on two brothers and big race maps. On these maps the cap zones are well within the range of the border, so you can just keep turning on the border, taking very little damage while pushing forwards and winning the map. I have abused the border on the big race map in my murmansk and with most of the enemy team shooting at me, I took almost no damage. It really isn't that hard to do, just go full speed into the border, then turn whenever anyone shoots at you, spam torpedoes and keep shooting your guns. Or if you are lazy, then just keep shifting your rudder randomly, as long as you are crashed into the border, you will be fine. I highly recommend everyone do this to force wargaming to patch it out asap.

Also an option to mute chat. Because some people spam chat with offensive language all the time. Shouldn't that increase the age rating of the game? I was under the impression 12 year olds are allowed to play this game.

Most of them didn't get there by accident. I play a lot of CVs, and I have seen some of the same CV players at high tiers do this over and over again, to the point where I recognize a few names and know for sure they will be line hugging just by looking at the match making. And the major problem with attacking line huggers is not that you have to fly past the border and that require more effort, but more to do with the fact they can go at full speed at the border and turn very fast with 0m radius, which means if they are good player who is intentionally line hugging and they are paying attention, they are much much harder to hit with both shells and torpedoes. Also, the much bigger problem with line hugging is not CVs doing it, but Japanese cruisers doing it. Doge most shells fired from over 10km away, and torpedo spam vs anything that closes to within 10km.

Yes, here we go again. Perhaps we need a new thread about this every day. Unless if you like border abuse and believe it is a good feature that should be in the game.

I am also sick of this border abuse problem, but apparently WG just doesn't care. So just join the dark side, and lets all do it. It will make high tier games into a joke where a lot of the action will be about who can hug the border the best.

Did buying flags stop award of flags for achievements?

I bought some xp and credits flags from the premium shop recently, and now I notice that I no longer get the "honor to the heroes" notification after getting confederate in the game. Did buying that flag stop it being awarded to me for achievements? Is this a bug? And yes, I have checked this is my first confederate of the day. It's not like I get confederate many times a day, so I do remember. -

Yes, I think this is a good explanation. Because I am still able to get the other flags, just got fire proof and dreadnought. In which case this is indeed a bug. I have submitted a ticket, let's see what they say. -

Is the map border full speed turning supposed to be part of the game?

I know there are many noobs who just slide along the border, I can hit that just fine, that's not the problem. But at higher tiers, there are people who use the border to do full speed turns at any location of their choosing after yo have fired, so they become impossible to hit at long range. This is extremely abusive, because you are forced to close the distance on them, and if they are in IJN CA, good luck on avoiding those torpedoes. Could someone from war gaming please confirm this is actually meant to be part of the game? Because I have seen so often in higher tier games, I think this is pretty much the current preferred gameplay style of a lot of people. Including games where half of the team just slide along the border all the way to the other side of the map. -

No fighters, they are a waste of time. You are much better off with 3 TB squads. I'm at Hiryu and have 2 fighter squads that can win 1v1 against any lower tier fighter or 2v1 vs Ranger's fighter squad, and can take out any bomber that comes at me. But i'm really missing having that 3rd TB squad like I had at Ryujo, so I'm seriously considering spending 10k xp and 720k silver to get that no fighter loadout and run with that. The damage potential is just so much higher when you can do wave 1 with 2xTB and wave 2 with 1xTB + all of your DB. Then you can pretty much guarantee he will be flooded and burning after he used his damage control party on the flooding caused by wave 1. That is more or less a certain kill. -
I'm half way through Hiryu, and I think the kill or be killed CV meta is very unhealthy. It's not fun for whoever gets killed after 5mins, and quite often you both loose a lot of planes trying to kill each other. Especially in tier 7+ games, where every carrier has at least 1 fighter squad, the fight can get quite drawn out, and you both end up not having a good game. I prefer to just live and let live, and just leave each other alone, high caliber is a lot better than clear sky. However, there is always the occasional US CV running full fighters load out who is just out to ruin your day, but how they managed to get past the Bogue grind I do not know.

No XVM. Imagine you are best player on enemy team, then I would take you down with my CV planes as a first priority, and you get permanently spotted and focus fired down every game. Is that fun? I have seen some very good dodging from cruisers, but in the end there is no way to avoid taking 2 torpedoes from 3 TB squads, followed by the dive bomber fire of certain death. Do you want to see a game where best players play CV only?

I have just got to Cleveland today, and I feel the entire US cruiser line is OP, but no one really talks about it. I have played all 4 classes, so I've been on both sides of it. St Louis can't be penned even with Omaha's 152mm from any angle except the exact broadside. Phoenix is very fast and plays similar to an ambushing cruiser with long range guns. Omaha has everything, fast guns for citedel vs cruisers and some battleships and HE spam vs Kongo+ battleships. Cleveland is also very good, also has extremely good AA + fighter plane. The entire line is just OP. I really look forward to 203mm on the Pensacola for more citadels. DD need detection range buff at higher tiers, or torpedo speed buff, otherwise there is no point going beyond minekaze. CV need to be balanced through matchmaking, if there is always equal number of CVs on each team then you don't get the 1 CV vs no CV game where the CV just slaughters the entire enemy team. BB guns are way too inaccurate at any range, I often land shots on both sides of the enemy ship, with 8 shots around the ship on either side and 1 shot in the middle hitting it. That's not fun. Also, you can aim for citadel, but whether or not it hits is all up to RNG, that's not fun either. -
I think it's exactly the opposite. Low level CV are very OP, because you are not punished for making mistakes because there is no AA, so you can circle and line up for the perfect run all day long, whereas in high tiers, you have 1 chance only to make a good torpedo run, and you are pretty much committed to it from 5km, if you mess up the timing, you get no hits, and if you want to turn your planes and retry the run your planes will all die to AA. With Hosho, I hit 2/4 torpedoes on most ships, but with Ryujo where I'm at bottom of the tier list in MM I'm happy with 1/4 torpedo hits on cruisers and battleships when they are not alone. I also play a lot of DD, and I think the best (worst) thing a CV player can do is to keep a fighter or bomber squadron over your head all game. It basically forces you to keep together with your fleet, and nullifies a lot of DD's power with the minimum of effort and resources on his part. So I think DDs need a buff of some sort, preferrably lower air detection range at higher tiers. I don't think AA buff for DDs will make much difference, I for one wouldn't care if I loose 4 or 5 planes to keep you spotted for 2 mins.

For Japanese CVs, launching fighters is a waste of time. And when I do have a fighter in my configuration, and I do have the time to launch it, then I think it's more useful to use the fighter squadron to permanently spot the enemy's best DD than trying to engage enemy bombers, or maybe fake the position of my carrier, or maybe use as sacrificial planes for my strike group, etc, etc. There is just too many more fun things you can do in a carrier than trying to shoot down planes. Because shooting down planes is just point and click with no thinking and no skill involved. I think bots are do that better.

Having sailed in Battleships, I think the number 1 reason why CVs are considered overpowered is because most low tier battleship players never look at the mini map, and sail in straight lines until they run into the beach.
