It would need to be, to compete in TIX or X. -

But you do admit it would have to be a totally made up design, or one artificially boosted to be classed as a cruiser instead of a battleship... If the german high tier is a fantasy ship, I really don't have any interest. It wouldn't even be a wunderwaffe. -

Z plan says yes. What do they have that is truly worthy of being more than tier 8? -

Werhaboos just wanted their high tier papership. They didn't know that the Kriegsmarine had nothing in the box to fill this role, even in design studies. -

Ah something else. Shimakaze isn't a Papership. -
Historical Accuracy vs. Complete Tech Trees

I voted against paperships. Because it simply tends to overshine and belittle the real warships that fought, proved themselve or not, and have an history, a record, a real use in war. I have two problems with them: 1- Tier X. Lets look at battleships. They all outshine Yamato in paper specs. However, Iowa would have been a total match for it. By putting Montana next to Yamato instead of Iowa, it, you open the tier for total powercreep and fantasy ships, as Monty becomes a standard against the Yams. You want to be equal to the most powerful warship of the world, and as paperships are reality proof, you end up with ships that actually dwarf the said Yamato into nothing special anymore. (This problem is better handled with DesMoines, as it stills have his gimmick of semi auto 203mm that showcase its glorious engineering.) 2- I'm against them being released en masse before other meaningful navies even gets their own branches. I'm OK with them filling up holes. But releasing a branch composed of 1 existing ship before even attempting to make an italian branch, it made me too salty to think back when I voted. -

The RN was already established with a questionnable line of light cruisers, but still a line. It seems like for WG, Italy (who gave most of the technology to the soviet navy of this era) is of less relevance than Pan Asian ships. -

Are they really doing it now?... A pan european ship, before Italy, the 4th most powerful navy at the start of the war, even gets one branch? ... I'm going to sob in a corner, wake me up when this nonsense is finally explained. I'd never thought the joke would become a reality. -
Roma is nice and gorgeous. I love her. Actually, she's my favourite ship after Yamato... But sadly, not ingame. She shines when she is thrown in T6-8 MM. She tanks well at this tier, and she can go in ranges where her shotguns can try and hit something. But, this MM happens like, 30% of the time. The whole other 70%, you're a cannon fodder for TX ships that have more range, more pen, more armor, and better accuracy. A ship that beautiful and gracious attracts way too much attention there. I would love to love her. But right now, she's totally NOT WORTH the 40 bucks, compared to other prem ships. (Actually, I wonder if I would want to pay for any T8 premium with the MM in this state)

... Can I rant? If the paper BB that are coming now are soviet, they are de facto, somewhat close siblings to Italians, seeing soviet engineers had to take inspiration from Italian shipbuildings and plans. So, it makes me wonder what kind of national traits are left to the future italian Battleship branch. (The premium battleships do not have an united caracteristic that could apply to a future branch... Except they are comfy to drive, something WG added to the soviet fat paperships too.) Feels like they got ripped off what could be interesting by the soviets. Because, if their trait is to have unreliable guns like Roma... Urrrh, doesn't appeal to me.

Oh, I was wondering, as I saw with your hyperion: You seem to know the way to swap plane models, is this hard to do? When I tried, it yeld no result beside the carrier whose planes had been switched not able to be loaded in the port. So, can you share how it's done? (I plan to change the Zeppelin's planes with his original stukas, at first)

Y'a quand même un gros paywall derrière Graf. Ça m'étonnerait qu'on soit envahis de CV à 50€ pièce...

Hello! It's been what, 2.5 years Mikasa have been released? And no love have been given to her. Her secondaries, who should be the main strenght of the ship, are just a joke, with not enough range to save her poor hull from the ship attacking her? What is the issue preventing a buff to her secondary range? I mean, with the dispersion it has (let's imagine that including all the bonuses / captain skills it's buffed to 6 or 7km), it would hit one out of ten shells at best anyway. The worse that could happen will be to teach newcommers about secondary specced ships they'll face later on. And the absolute worse is that Mikasa owners will not feel helpless anymore. So, what is preventing any thought of buff for Mikasa?
-
No no no, just a buff to the secondaries. They are Mikasa's strong and fun point.

Fuselier seem like a fantasy ship indeed. And what pains me is that the line could have been even more historically correct. Replace Mogador with Le Hardi (that is actually a lighter Mogador with 3x2 of the same guns, still better than Fantasque, yet, worse than Moga, would give a true sensation of upgrade), and put Mogador at tier X, and your line is full of ships that sailed. ... Maaaybe except the tier II and III, which I do not understand why they are not actual WW1 designs. (Which were quite garbage, indeed.) -
But actually, secondaries cannot be used effectively. 3.8km range is just not enough, on a ship that is slower than all the ones it will fight. That's why it feels helpless. Plus, caliber actually doesn't mean much, AND, in most matches, you will end up against T3 dreadnoughts with superior guns anyway. I believe what you just said doesn't invalidate the need for a buff.

Hey, I'm not saying they shouldn't do it, I'm just saying they are currently OVERdoing it. I really do not understand the need to put a slightly improved mogador at TX when the real one is here and IS tier X material. (And less soviet ships wouldn't be that bad, it's not like their navy was relevant, and yet they'll get their full tree before the Italian Navy, who they copied for most of their actual designs, even get one branch. THIS is what hits my nerves.) -

But I totally do, and as a french, navy enthusiast, I know of the mogador class and its improvement.. Still, I think they missed an opportunity here. I still believe ships being planned and not laid down are not real. And it makes real, existing ships sit in forgotten tiers. Who would play TIX if it wasn't for the grind/economic bonuses from premium? -

I keep seeing people say the tiers are historically correct. Why? The TX never existed again. The improved Mogador class was never laid down. And both Mogador sank in 1942, never receiving the fantasy tripod mast + radar. So I'm really wondering why the Mogador itself isn't TX, as the improvements over it are not relevant in game. (And, Actually the first 100% historically correct line is RN DDs, which, if I remember correctly, do not have any papership in. Aand, of course, US Carriers.) -
-
The premium French cruiser is a mix-up version of the AA cruiser De Grasse (laid down in 1946, finished in 1956). WG removed 8 of its dual mounts (4 aft, 4 stern) to put 4x La Galissonnière turrets on it. Seems like they added one torpedo laucher per side too.

Fly! Strike! Win! Event - Non-paid Crowns and Florins Estimates
Makoniel replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Damm'it. So, there are no need for crowns anymore, right? I won't pay doubloons for a T8 regular ship. But I farmed my best, as I thought it would be possible to get it. But here, with not even half of the 2500 florins required, I get that I won't be able to get it. What are the best things to spend them on? Camos or premium days? -
I'm not reading mind, and please do not try to, either. I'm not a dedicated CV player, I play everything, and I know very well the pain in the [edited]that is being put in MM-2. That's how it is when one takes a liking to mid tier cruisers. From this, I can compare what it feels like to be uptiered in cruisers, and what it is to be uptiered in CVs. And objectively, not speaking about feelings or impressions, cruisers have it better. Their capacity to inflict damage isn't almost NEGATED by the ship two tiers up. They're forced to play safe, yet, not forced to be useless the moment ennemies group up. Maybe you should try them, to see the hurdle it is to be lowtier in them? (Or, on the opposite, how grateful you are when the MM is finally granting you this very rare top tier match where you can just punish these poor lowtiers for all the frustrations you got on the earlier matches.)
